Yin: I'm thinking about leaving U.A...
Mikoto:...?!
Was Mikoto hearing things. Please tell him he's hearing things...Did Yin really just said what he think he just said...
Yin was leaving...?!
Mikoto: W-Why?!
Yin:....
Mikoto: Why are you thinking about leaving?!
Yin: Why?
Yin suddenly started giggling before he broke into an hysterical laughter.
Yin: Why? Why?! Because I'm a villain, Yukimura!
Mikoto: No! You're not a villain. I thought we already been through this!
Yin: Face it Mikoto. Jason was right. O mean...look what I've done to everyone. Ever since I came here, I've been nothing but trouble.
Mikoto: Gah...
Self-disgust and hatred filled Yin's emotions utterly consuming him inside and out.
Yin: I have stolen information and given it to the villains. I broken everyone's trust. I lied to the teachers and broke the hero oath. I hurt you and everyone around me. My secrets were exposed. Class 1-C hates me. My father is a villain who had destroyed my life. My Auntie Jade's life was at risk but with a possiblity she could be gone. I can't just stand there and do nothing! But instead! I had no choice but to listen but look where that got me!!!
Mikoto:....When have you become so numb...?
Yin started crying again.
Yin: Because...my entire existence was a mistake...
Mikoto:....
Yin: I shouldn't even be here...
Yin felt his whole feelings leaving once again...
He couldn't remember...who he was anymore...
He's was lost and it was killing him inside...
Yin: I should just kill myself.
Mikoto feels tears falling down his own face.
Mikoto: Don't say that! Please don't say it.
Yin: Why bother not saying it! I tried to kill myself back in middle school. I tried cutting myself. I tried drinking poison. I tried hanging myself. But because of my quirk. I can never truly die. I'm basically a ghost in a shell...
Mikoto:....
Yin: Just face it Class Rep. Everyone would probably glad if I was gone. Some of them probably still hate for what I've done earlier...U.A is better without people like me! I'm an outsider here! Unwanted and unneeded.
Mikoto: B-But Yin!
Yin: I'm parilyzed...I don't want to live...but I'm too scared to die as well...
"I wish I was never born..."
Mikoto:....
Mikoto didn't know what to feel about all this...Many people like Yin don’t naturally cope with distressing feelings very well, but we can learn better ways. When people say, “I wish I had never been born,” they can mean a number of things.
Oftentimes, they are letting themselves feel. Sometimes a situation may seem too big for someone, so they may be protecting themselves by numbing a bit. Sometimes it’s anger turned inward.
But these feelings of guilt that Yin couldn't let go of might never leave...
???: Hah. What's this I'm hearing about one of my students leaving U.A...
Both Mikoto and Yin looked up to see Geysis coming inside the infirmary.
Mikoto: Geysis-Sensei? When did you get here?
Geysis: Through the door.
Mikoto sweat dropped. That wasn't what he meant.
Geysis: Alright spill. What is this all about you leaving Hamada? Is this because of what happened back at the camping trip.
Yin:....
Geysis: Remember what we, the teachers, back then when we found out...
Yin: I...well...
Geysis: We said it was our fault. Not yours. Back then. We should've realized a villain was threatening to harm one of our students.
Yin: But how would you have known...I didn't tell anybody. It doesn't matter anyway...
Geysis: Shut up kid. Even if you lock it all up and throw away the key. Someone was going to find out the secret one way or another. And who better than Ectoplasm. He even admitted after finding out who your father was, he should've kept a close eye on you. He was willing to admit what he done was a mistake. So mone of what happened back there was your fault. As your teachers, we take the responsibility. You're still young..
Yin: Sensei...
Geysis: Speaking of said boy who attacked you. He won't be bothering you anymore.
Yin: W-What happen to Jason.
Geysis: Once Joke found out one of her students had harm one of U.A's. She couldn't have the benefit of the doubt for Jason. So she had him expelled from Shiketsu. Not just that, He's been taken into custody for league usage of his quirk.
Yin: I see...
Mikoto: (Good riddance....)
Geysis: What he have done to you was wrong. It was villainous. None of it was heroic. He acted on his own without thinking of the consequences. It's sad that someone his age will be serving time in prison.
Yin:....
Geysis: Hamada... You're not a villain...I want you to know that.
Yin: But...
Geysis: Get it out of your head. You were forced.
Mikoto: Yeah. And that Jason character is wrong about you, Yin. You may think you done bad things here. But you also helped Class 1-C. Think about it. You helped me, Sylvia, and Neito backed at the Sports Festival, remember?
Yin made a small smile at that...
Yin: Yeah...I remember...
Geysis: You also improved a lot in your skills during the final exam. You helped led your teammates to victory. If it wasn't for you by their side, they probably would've failed the exam.
Mikoto: Right! You have done so much to offer for U.A. Because that's what heroes do.
Yin: But I have done so many terrible things that were villainous.
Mikoto scoffed at that.
Mikoto: So! Even heroes make mistakes that scream villainous.
Yin: ?!
Mikoto: Think about it. Most heroes in this society had done terrible things that wasn't heroic. We live in a world we’re often more afraid of our own errors than we are of the most terrifying fictional villains. Why? Examples. Covering up mistakes, pretending they never happened, or doing nothing about them in hopes no one will notice can be far more damaging than taking responsibility and learning from the experience. Even heroes do that. So why compare them to villains?
Yin:.....
Geysis: Now...You need to handle these errors like a champ. Greater power comes with greater responsibility.
Yin:....I see...
Mikoto: I hope you do. Yin. For now, I want you to know. Everyone is here for you. You don't have to face this alone. Let us help you. You trust us, right?
Yin:......But what if they still don't trust me...
Mikoto: It'll take time for trust to build up. Which is why you can repair. If you let us help you...
Yin stayed quiet for a moment before taking a deep breath and nodding. His tears had soften up his face.
Yin: Okay...I'm ready to make amends with everyone...
Geysis: *Smiles*
Yin: Even though I have failed the exam. I can retake it again in a few more months. I hope I can do this...I just need to train a little bit more.
Mikoto: I'm glad...and that's fine. Because everyone will help you. I guarantee it. If you just tell them how you truly feel...
Yin: I'll try....
Geysis: Welp. I'm glad you finally got over it. Last thing I need is a suicidal student.
Mikoto: Aww. So you do care~!
Geysis: *Glares* Don't push your luck, Yukimura.
Mikoto: *Scared* Y-Yes sir...
Geysis: Get some more rest, Hamada. You need it. And Yukimura, congratulations on getting your hero license. For now on, you and the other Class 1-C students will be working together with your Senpais in 3-C for the next hero internships.
Mikoto: Hai Geysis-Sensei!
Geysis then took his leave.
Mikoto: I never expected him to give advice...
Yin: Yeah...
Mikoto begin to get up from his seat.
Mikoto: I better go now Yin, I'm going to check up on the others. Once you're feeling better. Feel free to come and celebrate with us. After all, we're in the same class...
Yin: Okay.
Mikoto was getting ready to take his leave.
Yin: Oh...Yukimura...
Mikoto: Yes?
Yin: Even after all I have done...Thank you...for believing in me.
Mikoto: No problem.
Yin: I'm serious. I'm still worried about my Auntie Jade. But maybe if I believe hard enough...she could still be alive out there. I'll find her...and be the hero that she and mom would've wanted.
Mikoto: *Smiles* Yeah. I'm sure they would want that. Just know, that you're not your dad. You're different. And that makes you unique and more human than he ever was. Quirk or no quirk. Doesn't matter.
The snow user then leaves as Yin felt a huge smile made his way onto his face.
Even after all this time, it felt great that someone still believes in him. Telling him he can still be a hero.
He felt wanted...He felt needed...
Yin: I'll never forget this act of kindness, Yukimura. Never Ever.
He no longer felt parilyzed from his past...
