Elizabeth POV
I immediately took my gun out and shot a couple of bullets at Annette but they were blocked by a metal door closing in front of her.
“You’ll never get the G-Virus!” Annette yelled.
“Didn’t expect that from a scientist” I heard Ada said.
I immediately ran to Leon’s side and kneel down.
“Oh my God, Leon” I said.
I immediately dug inside my bag, taking some bandages out.
“How is he?” Ada asked.
“Bad” I replied.
“Forget about me. Just go. Stop her before she gets away” Leon said. He then blackout.
“Leon! Leon!” I yelled.
I immediately began to work on his bleeding shoulder. I stopped the bleeding with a can of aid spray then gently wrapped it with the bandages to not hurt him.
“I need to make a call… Uh, here” I heard Ada said. I looked up and saw her giving me her light brown jacket.
“Thanks” I said.
I took it then watched her walk over to a corner before taking a small radio out. I ignore her. I looked at Leon’s unconscious face and smile sadly. I gently stroke his soft face with my finger.
“I need to go” I heard Ada’s voice said.
“I’m coming with you” I said. I had replied with my eyes still on Leon.
“Are you about this?” she asked. I nodded.
“I’m sure” I replied. I heard her sighed.
“Fine… but I’m warning you... this will not be easy” she said.
I nodded before gently laying a soft kiss on Leon’s cheek then stood up. I walked over to Ada who nodded before walking forward. We walked over to a ladder but we couldn’t use it because the fan was blocking it. I then watched Ada take out a small gun-like device.
“What is that?” I asked.
“An EMF Visualizer” she replied.
“What is it use for?” I asked.
“It’s used to track wiring and to hack electronic equipment” she replied.
I nodded then watch her use it to turn the fan on and make it go really fast until it exploded and was now out of the way.
“Cool” I said.
Ade climbed up first then I.
“So, Midnight, Huh? Why are you lying?” Ada asked.
“Tsk, You know why” I replied coldly.
We followed the duct to the end which was also blocked by a fan. Ada did repeat the same process as before and made the fan exploded. I went in first and jumped down. I then heard some growling. I immediately drew my gun out and shot the zombie in the room down.
“Are you okay?” Ada asked, jumping down.
“Yeah” I replied, walking to a workbench and found a note.
Sept. Inspection (Week 1)
I already put in a request last week, but we absolutely must have a replacement ID wristband ASAP. We need one to gain access to certain areas of the main facility. In other words, me and my crew can’t get to the places we need to in order to do our job right now, so I don’t want to hear anymore accusing us of slacking off.
“ID wristband?” I asked.
“Yeah, It looks like we will need to look for one” Ada said.
I nodded then she used her visualizer to hack the switch on the locked door and unlock it for us to go through. On the other side, we were in some kind of control room. We walked straight along the catwalk then head down some stairs and follow the walkway around to a nonfunctional elevator.
“Great” I said.
“I need to find the power cord to make it functional again” Ada said.
“Go, I will cover you” I said. I saw her nodded.
I then found a metal pole on the ground. I smirked. I had lost my metal bat back when the monster knocked me out so using this will have to do. I saw Ada then pulled the visualizer and began to follow the power conduit as it snakes around the room. All this while I took care of the four zombies in the room. I only had to use my gun once because it had cornered me to a wall but was able to take care of the rest with the metal pole. we immediately head back to the elevator once it was functional again.
“Well… That was fun” I said.
“If that’s your definition of fun then, sure” she replied.
Just then, we spotted Annette going through a door.
“Got you now” Ada said.
We immediately ran to the door. Unfortunately for us, it was locked. Just then, I heard heavy footsteps. I turned around and my eyes wide. It was the same giant man that Ada had crashed and exploded with a truck. He was still alive and I was sure he was ready to kill us if we don’t open this door immediately.
“Persistent bastard, aren’t you?” Ada asked.
I immediately took my gun out.
“Ada!” I yelled.
“I know!” she replied.
I watched Ada immediately use her visualizer to open the door but for our bad luck, the room on the other side didn’t have an escape route.
“We could use the fan to get out but I need time” Ada said.
“Leave it to me” I said. She nodded.
I immediately grabbed the metal pole and tried to hit the giant man with it but he stopped it with one hand then took the pole in both hands and bend it so easily as if the metal mole was made out of plastic. He then hit me. I hit the table in the middle of the room really hard and groan in pain but then moved away when he was about to hit me once more.
“Eliza… Midnight!” Ada yelled. I turned and found out that Ada did it.
This time she had only created a hole big enough for both of us to fit through. Ada immediately went in first. I immediately made a run. The giant man tried to stop me but I was faster than him and made it through. I landed painfully on my side.
“Are you okay?” Ada asked.
“I will be once I catch my breath” I replied. I saw her nodded.
I finally to catch my breath. I stood up and follow Ada to the next room. I watch Ada walk up the stairs. I heard her read something but didn’t really pay much attention until she then pulled the lever on the panel and open the door to the incinerator.
“Wow, I’m not going in there” I said.
“Then stay here” Ada said, walking inside the incinerator without fear then kneel down in front of the dead zombie’s body inside and take something from it. I was then roughly pushed inside the incinerator. I screamed when I made an impact with the hard ground.
I turned my head around and my eyes wide when the door to the incinerator closed and the incinerator small door in the middle opened and Annette’s face came up on the other side.
“Bravo” Ada said.
“Gonna burn us alive now?” Ada asked.
“What?” I asked.
“You’ll never get your filthy hands on G” Annette said.
“I’m the only one after it. You realize that” Ada said.
“Then you two won’t die alone” Annette said, closing the small door.
The incinerator then turned on. I immediately panicked. I didn’t want to die.
“Oh my God, Ada, do something!” I yelled.
“I’m on it” Ada replied, taking her visualizer.
Ada immediately began to hack the power panel inside the incinerator. It took her some time but she successfully opened the door. I immediately ran out of there.
“That bitch knows what she’s doing” Ada said.
“I couldn’t agree more with you” I said.
“C’mon, let go” Ada said. I nodded.
I followed her to a door that immediately slid opened thanks to that thing that she took from the zombie corps which was an ID wristband.
:: Visitor clearance confirmed. Your ID is authorized until [OCTOBER] [FIRST] Please return before this date::
“Tsk, I will never return” I said.
We follow the hallway all the way to the door at the end. We opened the door and found yourself in a larger room. We followed the platform until we made it to the middle of the room where a bright light then shined in our faces. We immediately turned to the light and saw Annette.
“Enough with this cat and mouse game” Ada said.
“The game is over, You two lost” Annette said.
I then saw her press something but I don’t know what. I began to get nervous when I heard some metal moving.
“Tell me: Is your husband still alive? Or did you kill him, so you could take credit for G?” Ada asked.
“Interesting theory” Annette replied.
“If you don’t cooperate, I’ll get a sample from the NEST” Ada said.
“Over my dead body” Annette replied.
Just then, an oversize crusher stomped in front of us. I immediately grabbed Ada's hand took off running before the crusher could get us. It pushed us off of the platform but was able to take a hold of the railing on the side with one hand while holding Ada with the other. The railing then shook.
“Shit” I said.
My hand slipped. We fell down into a pile of scrap then rolled down on it and land roughly on the solid ground. I heard Ada cried in pain. I slowly but painfully looked up and saw that a piece of metal got stuck on Ada's thigh.
“Where’s Leon when I need him?” Ada said.
I then heard metal screeching. I looked up and my eyes widen when I saw a large piece of metal about to land on Ada. I immediately and without thinking got up and run to her. I successfully put myself on top of her before the metal piece could hit her. I then felt an extreme pain in my abdomen.
"Liz!" Ada yelled.
I felt my body rolled to my side then looked down at my stomach and found out that the large piece of metal had pierced through me from one side to the side.
“Liz! Why?!” Ada asked.
“I… I might… hate you… for leaving *cough* but your still my sister” I replied.
I then felt my eyes get really heavy. I couldn’t keep them open anymore. I close my eyes and the last thing I heard was Ada’s voice calling my name. I remember Leon’s face one more time before darkness took over.
