Des and Crystal are walking through the bushes with SilverSteel the dragon. They are hoping to find something that would aid in their escape. But can they?
Following Desira, Crystal had a feeling they were being watched. She was about to ask Desira if she felt the same, when a large brow dragon, with wings that looked like they could cut through trees, came bursting out of the Forrest. The dragon was being attacked by a red one. And as crystal watched the red dragon suddenly burst into flames. “Should we do something?" crystal asked Desira who was frozen staring up ahead.
"I-I don't know. What can we do?" Desira bit her bottom lip and looked at Crystal.
"u-um lets go hide in those bushes!" crystal replied running to a big green bush and signalling Desira to join her she watched, her eyes filled with marvel at these magnificent beasts.
Desira rushed to her side and watched the ferocious battle with a look of fascination. It wasn’t long before she started egging them on as if it were a sport.
"What are you doing?!" crystal whispered shout.
"wha- oh... sorry, couldn't help it" she replied with an awkward smile
Desire looked at Crystal and blushed, "well, at least it was fun... Yeah I know I mucked up... Sorry bout that"
"That’s okay, just try to be a little... wait! Is there a person on the dragons back?" crystal said pointing to a large boy wearing Viking like attire.
Desira's eyes widened in surprise. "I... I think you're right! That just confuses me more though... seriously, what the hell is going on here?"
crystal turned her head and pointed toward 5 dark shapes to the left of the two dragons fighting I don’t know... but they look like they’re going to do something." crystal then turned toward Desira and told her "we should stop them from hurting that brown dragon."
She nodded, "Let's go." She started to run towards the scene, but stopped halfway, turned and trotted back to where Crystal was standing. "Um... yeah, maybe we shouldn't rush in without a plan... Oh, to hell with it-" and with that she ran off yelling abuse at the brown dragon's attackers.
Crystal shook her head. Laughing she called out "hey wait for me". She then picked up SilverSteel who somehow managed to escape Desira’s hood and chased after her bull headed friend. As she neared silver jumped out of her arms and let out a shot of white lightning at the rider on the red dragon. Knocking him off. Soon the red dragon stood over and protected his rider while she picked up SilverSteel and stood next to her friend in front of the brown dragon. "You’re tough for a little one silver"
Desira stood there for a moment, wondering what to do, but then she swallowed bravely and approached the dragon. The dragon lowered its head ready to attack her, but she quickly grabbed onto its neck and swung herself onto its back. The dragon roared and tried to knock her off, but holding on tightly, she gently scratched its back, "Hey, calm down buddy, we're gonna to help you out." surprisingly, it did seem to calm down.
Crystal watched in amazement as Desira tamed the brown dragon. Suddenly there was a growl from behind her. Turning around she saw that it was coming from a black scaled dragon. Slowly the rider on its back got off and headed towards them. Suddenly there was a growl from behind her, then the ground in front of the rider got scorched.
The dragon on which Desira was now mounted had risen off the ground with and angry, yet somewhat dazed look. She tried to calm it, "Whoa now buddy, cool it. How about you let me down now, huh?" The dragon hesitated, but was soon back on the ground and Desira hopped off its back and ran to Crystal. "Hey, did I miss anything?"
"No, not much besides these dragon riders. wait I...I thought there were six dragons?" crystal soon realized that one of the dragons was green with reddish-brown markings and red spines running down its two heads all the way to the end of its two tails. There were two riders sitting on the neck of this dragon, holding on to twin horns coming out of each dragons head.
"Well, hell if they're gonna to be on dragons, I wanna be on a dragon. Hold on a sec-" Desira walked back over to the brown dragon and climbed up onto its back. She shouted to the other riders, "So, you guys have dragons too, huh?!" She flashed them a cocky grin.
"Umm... Desira try to be nice to them. They have more dragons then us and the red one looks kind of scary"
"Right..." she puts on the least fake smile she can manage, which is very fake, and tries a more friendly approach, "Hey guys! Uh... yeah we're kinda lost here so um... do you guys mind, like I dunno, if you could help us a little, that'd be cool... Oh yeah, I'm Desira, by the way. And my beautiful companion over there is Crystal." She smiled at Crystal mouthing the words 'how was that?'
'Better' crystal mouthed back. Taking a better look at the owner of the black dragon Crystal noticed that his leg was missing. In its place was a stone one in a weird shape. "Don't be scared... We're just surprised to see you. Who are you by the way?"
The boy stepped forward, "My name's Hiccup, and this," he said, gesturing to the dragon, "is Toothless."
Desira was suddenly interested in Toothless, "What kind of dragon is he?"
"He's called a night fury."
"Night fury, is that his name?" "No, his name is toothless" hiccup replied to Crystal’s question. "That’s a weird name. Do you know the name of the brown dragon?" "Yes that's a timberjack, and the dragon your holding there is a skrill. How did you come across it? Hiccup asked nearing the two girls. When hiccup was within three feet of Crystal. Silver opened his mouth and scorched the ground in front of hiccup, growling.
Desira slid off the back of the timberjack and walked over to Hiccup and Crystal. "Silver's a feisty little thing, isn't he?" she chuckled, then turned to Hiccup "So… did you say that my friend back there was a timberjack? Why is it called that?" "Its wings are sharp enough to cut through trees." Desira looked back at the dragon "Whoa, that's cool!" Hiccup replied, "Yep. She seems to be pretty fond of you too."
At that the brown dragon came forward and nuzzled its way under Desira's arm. Crystal gave a small smile at this act. She was watching as her friend laughed at how the dragon was licking her when she came up with a question. "so what are you going to call her Desira, hmm..." crystal and Desira began to think, having an idea crystal turned to her friend and said I know how about... wildsky?"
"Wildsky... how'd you like that, girl?" The dragon licked her face. Desira scratched under the timberjack's chin "Ok then, Wildsky it is! So... what now?"
Hiccup gave a smile at the two girls and said "why don’t you come back to berk with us? There we can talk some more and get you some new clothes. Now come o-" "hiccup how do we know we can trust them, they might be just like heather" "we will take them back and talk to dad okay Astrid." crystal watched as hiccup and Astrid argued about them. She could easily see the attraction they had towards each other. Astrid's dragon had two legs and two wings similar to the red dragon but it stood up tall while its wings were folded were as the red dragon had to have its wings touching the ground to stay balanced. It had a similar shape to a chicken but looked much more terrifying and if you call this dragon a chicken I’m pretty sure you will get roasted. The dragon had a Blue body with brown and yellow highlights and a cream underbelly. Its head had a large horn and several long spikes adorning the back of its head in a frill. Crystal looked towards the dragon’s tail and saw that it was adorned in several things that looked like spines.
While Hiccup and Astrid bickered, Desira spoke quietly to her friend, "Those dragons seem really well disciplined. They're so... tame!"
Toothless' ears/horn things flicked up at their conversations and he grumbled at what they were saying. The teens looked and smelled different then his Viking and his friends. They were kind of nervous around each other leading him to believe they hadn’t known each other long. Toothless didn’t like the little skrill because of the big one that threatened his home years ago. He let out a loud call saying 'come on lets go' causing hiccup and the female, Astrid, to stop fighting. Astrid walked back to her dragon and hoped on while hiccup walked back towards him.
Desira started to walk back towards WildSky. "We going now? Cause I'm getting a little anxious." Hiccup nodded and mounted his dragon, "Alright. You ready, bud?" Toothless gave an enthusiastic growl. "Ok, lead the way." Desira said, climbing onto WildSky's back, "Crystal, come on up here...” she held out her hand.
Silver climbed onto crystals shoulder as she took Desira's hand with a little hesitation. She held onto Desira tightly as wildsky flew up in a gust of wind following the dragon riders in front of them. as they got higher, Crystal slowly let go of Desira and holding on to her new friends shoulder she stood up to feel the wind whipping her face. Trying something dangerous she let go of Desira's shoulder and opened her arms wide. SilverSteel tried doing the same with his wings. Realising what will happen a second too late she watched as the little guy's wings caught a gust of wind and pulled him of her shoulder. Since silver was too young to fly she watched as he plummeted down to the ground. Giving a shout she dived after him. The last thing she remembered before blacking out was wildsky diving after her and the blue dragon in her arms giving out a loud cry. END CHAPTER 3
