“Wonderland” is a bonus track from the Deluxe Edition of 1989. It is a description of a toxic relationship, from beginning to end. It uses the story of Alice In Wonderland as inspiration for the highs and lows of enjoying this state of relationship wanderlust, irrespective of negative consequences.
Taylor posted this lyric teaser on her Instagram in December 2014:
You searched the world for something else to make you feel like what we had. And in the end, in Wonderland, we both went mad.
Interestingly, Taylor also did a photoshoot with fashion magazine Wonderland in Novemeber 2014, with many fans surprised by her different look.
