Melanie's POV
I was pregnant.
I had a baby inside of me.
It didn't even have a chance to live before the bastard killed it.
I will never know if it was a girl or a boy.
I was not crying, for I was drained of every last tear I had hours ago.
The doctor left, leaving me in the room alone.
Several IVs were poked into me.
The needles disgusted me.
People were trying to get into the room, but I would not talk to them.
I sat, curled in a ball.
My heart shattered once again.
I let out a painful scream full of sorrow before laying down, ignoring all pain.
My eyes were probably blood shot and swollen.
Anyone who saw me would think I looked like a zombie.
I sobbed.
I had a baby.
I can't get it out of my head that I had a baby.
My stupid ass father ruined everything!
I hate him so much!!!
I was slowly closing my eyes when I was disrupted by the nurse coming in.
"Melanie Rose?"
"Ya?"
"You have a visitor and she said she needs to speak to you."
"Who is it?"
What she said next had my wolf howling and said 'I told you so.'
The nurse told me who had come to see me, "Do you know anyone by the name of Molly Rose?"
My breath caught.
Mom?
When she didn't get a respond she assumed I didn't know her, "I'll just tell her that your busy right now."
"No! Wait! Please bring her in," I practically begged.
"You sure?"
"Yeah," I said, firm and strong.
The nurse, I don't remember her name, I think it was Sierra, left me alone yet again.
I sighed.
What else could go wrong?
Of course, with my luck, I had suddenly felt sharp pain, almost like a silver knife go through me and scrape my heart.
I looked down to find nothing.
Jaxon.
The pain got worse and I screamed for help.
What is happening to him?
I felt his mind link go blank and the pain disappeared.
'Please don't be dead.
Damn it! Jaxon answer me!'
I screamed words through the mate link, receiving no answer.
'Please, you have to be okay, if you die now, you will kill your family with despair and I will most likely commit suicide. Jaxon, please, please, please, please!'
Tears rolled down my face.
I didn't think I had any tears left in me after five minutes.
Is Jaxon okay? Where is he? Where is the nurse with my visitor?
Just I asked myself those questions the nurse walked in.
She held the door open for someone.
My breath caught as I saw who it was.
"Mom?"
Unknown person's POV
"That damn bitch killed our alpha.
We will get our revenge.
Tonight we will kill her mate, slowly and painfully. Let her feel pain, and die!" I yelled to the remainders of our rouge pack.
I heard cheers and evil laughs throughout the crowd.
"For our alpha!"
The pack cheered louder and repeated me before we marched into the forest.
On our way to their pack house, we came across a pure black wolf.
Jaxon.
This is going to be easier than I thought.
I gave my men the signal to surround him and they followed what I had told them.
Once they were circling him so he couldn't escape, I stepped forward and injected wolfs vane into his system.
This Jaxon guy didn't even put up a fight.
I hate him so much.
Just as I was going to have some fun with Melanie, he shows up.
Glad we have witches on our side, I would have died if we didn't.
Holly ran off but told us that she was going to be back to get revenge on Melanie for stealing her mate, luna position, and ruining her life.
I didn't really care for her.
She was a snob and stuck up.
That girl thought she could get anything she wanted by using the men around her.
"All right boys, our work here is done, let's head back."
We marched back to our destroyed pack house.
Can't wait to torture this asshole.
Melanie's POV
She was dead.
Everyone said she was killed by rouges.
'The beast', or as I use to call him dad, even announced that he had killed his mate.
Just thinking about it, made me frustrated.
"Mom?"
"Melanie," she sighed.
My mother shifted towards the nurse, "thank you but can I speak to my daughter alone?"
The nurse looked at me asking if that would be alright.
I nodded my head and she walked out.
"How?"
"I know you have questions Mel, but please hear me out."
"Okay," I said, skeptical on what she has to say.
"When you were born your father was mad that you or Bailey weren't boys.
He became abusive, even to me.
I am sorry to tell you this, but I didn't choose to get pregnant with another kid, he forced me," my mother was crying.
Then she sucked in a breath and continued, "as you know, you have powers and people will come for you.
Bailey and Josh both have a couple powers too, but you have the most.
Your mate is in trouble, and so are you, " she looked at my stomach.
"I am sorry for your loss. I was told that the bastard used a knife and carved drawings into your insides, killing the baby."
The despair came rushing back.
I didn't speak.
"I know someone who can see the future, do you want to know the genders of the babies?"
"Babies?"
She smiled wide, "well you see, the nurse didn't tell you this but your wolf somehow managed to protect one of them. You were going to have twins. One of those children are still safe inside of you, but you just need to be extra careful now."
I stared wide eyed at her.
I wanted to know more, even though I have learned enough for whole year.
I exploded and let my anger out, "great, I was having twins! one of my babies died and my mother who was suppose to be dead just walks in here, like she was just on vacation.
My mates in trouble, and I don't know what to do," my voice had cracked... several times by the time I was done talking.
"I'm very sorry Melanie. I was threatened that if I came back, he would kill you both."
Really? My father was a complete asshole.
Even in death, he annoys the crap out of me.
"What am I suppose to do?"
"For now, you need to rest. The child's heart is racing and you need to calm down," then she gave me a weird look, "I'm not the only one who came to visit you."
"What?"
I was confused.
Who else was here?
"I'll tell him to come in."
Him?
Just then someone I haven't seen in years walked through the doors.
"Hey how are you," he asked.
I was overly angry right now.
"How am I? Thats all you have to say to me after you left when I was four years old?! Damn it! How could you do this to me, your own sister?"
I screamed at him.
Why shouldn't I be pissed off?
First my mother who was suppose to be dead just showed up like she owned the place.
Then I found out that I'm still having a baby.
Now my damn brother shows up.
"I'm sorry Melanie, I truly am sorry," he put his head down in shame.
"Sorry isn't enough, Josh, my pack abused and used me, I met my mate, who of course had to be my top bully.
And now you think you two can just walk in here like you own this hell hole. No freaking way!"
I was practically snarling at them.
"Melanie it wasn't our fault, yo-"
"Yeah, yeah, I get it already.
My dumb ass father ruined my life and he's the fricken devil. Anything I don't know?"
"You should not disrespect your mother by talking like that!"
Now she was obviously pissed.
Great.
"You were in my life for four fricken years, and you now just show up after the time I shift, find my mate, and get pregnant!
How do you think I'm suppose to react to that?!"
I felt like I wanted to rip someone's head off.
She lowered her voice in sadness, "were both very sorry, we couldn't stop it."
I was going to respond, but someone I want expecting to see, walked in the stupid hospital room.
"Shit!" I cursed might I say, very loud.
I instantly knew it was the fake.
"Hey, Mel, the nurse said that you were free to go and I wanted to talk to you about something," he smirked.
"Go to hell you monster," how could he pretend to be my mate.
His face fell before it turned to one of anger.
"You bitch, you will do as I say!"
He walked towards me.
I guess my mother and brother finally decided to step in, "stay away from her!" they yelled together.
When the imposter didn't move, they raised their hands and smirked before I fainted from shock. Shock from what they had done to him and how they had done this to him.
What the hell just happened...?!
