PICTURED: Asha's party outfit

༻✧༺

"Guys, I can't believe winter holidays starts tomorrow!" Heidi exclaimed, clapping excitedly.

"Which means my party is in like...5 days!" Chelsea said excitedly. "I think I'm going to make a punch, so I might ask Dylan to get some alcohol for me and I'll pay him back."

We all nodded in agreement, deciding on a blue coloured punch to go with her 'winter wonderland' theme. She informed us that she had hired snow machines and fog machines, intent on having her party be 'the party of the century'. Nothing like this ever happened at my old school...what kind of area had I moved into?

The bell rang, ending recess, and we all dispersed and went to our different classes. I headed to the music faculty which was something I became to dead. I was always anxious that one day I would walk back and Luke would be sitting there. It had been a few weeks since the incident and there was still no word from him, so I hoped that meant he was never coming back.

I walked into the room and took my seat in the middle row and waited for the rest of the class to file in. The teacher decided to give our class the entire lesson to work on our auditions for the charity event. I had narrowed down my options to two songs; 'The Call' by Regina Spektor and 'Turning Tables' by Adele. As I sat there practicing, I felt a hand touch my shoulder lightly. I jumped and stopped playing, whipping my head around to see a girl standing behind me.

She had the most piercing green eyes I had ever seen, framed by winged eyeliner, her hair so dark it was almost black. She was beautiful.

"You're an incredible singer!" she said, standing back from me.

"Oh...thank you!" I said awkwardly. "I'm Asha."

"Yeah, I know. Everyone knows who you are," she told me.

"What, how?" I asked, surprised. I had no idea that people other than those I had met knew anything about me.

"You're the girl Bailey went psycho on Luke for. No one has ever seen Bailey get like that before!" the girl told me. "Anyway, I'm Alexa."

She stuck out her hand and I shook it firmly.

"Yeah, I don't know why Bailey did that. I'm not complaining though," I mumbled, looking down awkwardly.

"No one is, Luke is a dickhead and he deserved it. It was about time someone gave it to him, although I'm sorry you had to go through that for it to happen," she said sympathetically.

I smiled at her and nodded in appreciation. I didn't really know how to respond when people said things like that, especially since I was new. The one thing I didn't want to do at this new school was overstep any boundaries so I kept my mouth shut.

"You're really good friends with Chelsea, aren't you? Will I be seeing you at her party on Wednesday?" she asked me.

"Yeah, I'll be there!" I told her, and she gave me a warm smile before walking off to the violin section.

Soon enough school was over and I was walking through the school car park to get to the bus stop. Just as I was exiting the gates, I heard someone call my name.

"Oi, Asha!" the voice called.

I turned around to see Bailey jogging up to me, helmet in hand.

"I'll give you a ride home," she said to me.

"No, it's fine. I don't want you to go out of your way," I told her. I still felt bad about being so vulnerable in front of her. When we became assignment partners I'm sure she had no idea what she was in for.

"Shut up and get on," she chuckled, handing me her helmet. I obliged with a roll of my eyes and walked over with her to her bike. I was used to it by now and needed no help getting on. I wrapped my arms around her waist and we took off out of the parking lot, people looking at us as we left.

"Thanks for the ride," I said to her once we arrived at my house.

"It's nothing," she said as I climbed off the back of the bike.

"I'll see you on Wednesday at Chelsea's?" I asked.

"Looking forward to it!" she replied with a wink, and I turned to walk to my front door.

Before I could make it far, I felt a hand grab my wrist and pull me around. Bailey's lips pressed against my cheek and I blushed once again, and as quickly as it happened, it ended.

"See you later, Ash," she said in a low voice, and she drove away.

I stood at the edge of my driveway and watched her bike until it drove out of sight. My heart was still beating out of my chest and my cheeks still warm from her touch. When I was finally able to move I turned around and walked to my door, only to be greeted by my mum. She was standing there leaning against the door frame, a knowing smile plastered onto her face. She saw the entire thing. Great.

Chelsea Hart posted in WINTER WONDERLAND ❄️: Hey guys, party starts tonight at 6:30pm. Make sure you bring your ID so my security guard can cross you off the list. Alcohol will be provided 🍺🍺 but feel free to bring your own. SEE YOU TONIGHT 💋💋

I smiled and exited the Facebook app. Chelsea was so excited for this party and I couldn't blame her, it was going to be an incredible night. The girls and I had all arrived at Chelsea's house on Wednesday morning to help set up for the party. When my mum had dropped me off I was literally in awe, her house was incredible. She lived not far from Heidi, so still in the rich part of town. Her house was 3 storeys high with a fucking hedge maze in the backyard. A hedge maze! I can't...anyway.

By 3:30pm the house had been decked out in winter decorations and it looks incredible. Fake icicles dangled from the ceiling and the snow machine was blowing fake snow across the backyard and maze. All we had to do now was put out the food and drinks and we were done!

"Okay, whose got the alcohol?" Breanna said, pulling out three huge tubs that the punch was going to be put in.

"I got it off Dylan last night, it's down in the den. I'll go grab it!" Chelsea said, hopping off the barstool and racing downstairs, Lauren and Casey following her. They came back a few minutes later with three bags each full of alcohol.

"Are you trying to kill us all?" I laughed as they placed the heavy bags on the kitchen counter.

"Yep, that's the plan!" Chelsea joked.

We each pulled out multiple bottles of vodka, triple sec and blue curaçao, pouring it into the three tubs. We finished by pouring in lemonade and adding strawberries and lemon slices. By the time we were done, we had enough alcohol to feed the entire population of Chadstone High.

"I'm genuinely concerned for the outcome of tonight," Casey laughed, looking at the giant tubs of alcohol.

"We're here for a good time girls, not a long time," I told them, and they all threw their heads back in laughter.

"Okay, let's go get ready! Party starts in two hours!" Amanda said, and we all ran upstairs to Chelsea's room to do our hair and makeup.

Once I was finished contouring and highlighting to the gods, I carved out my brows and did a rose gold smokey eye and a nude lip. My hair was naturally straight, but I straightened it anyway to ensure it was as flat as could be. After we had all finished getting ready, we changed into our party outfits. I wore a grey knit wrap dress and thigh high black boots. The dress hugged my curves perfectly and was a perfect fit for the winter themed party.

"Fuck me, Asha! Bailey won't be able to control herself!" Amanda said, taking in my outfit.

"Oh shush, we are just friends! Seriously!" I told her, rolling my eyes.

"Okay, whatever you say so. But just so you know, you can use my room tonight if you need to," Chelsea said with a wink. I slapped her arm jokingly, although I couldn't help but wonder - what was Bailey going to think of my outfit tonight?

Soon enough people slowly started arriving to the party. The sun had gone down and the fog and snow machines had started up. An hour into the party and it was in full swing, but I couldn't help but feel a bit disheartened - Bailey hadn't shown up yet. Maybe she had decided not to come...

"What's up, buttercup?" Amanda said, sitting down next to me and handing me my 4th cup of punch.

"Nothing, why do you say that?" I asked her.

"Because you look depressed. Don't worry, Bailey will be here soon," she said.

"What? I don't care. I'm fine!" I stuttered, but she didn't believe a word.

"Asha, seriously. It's so obvious, and that's totally cool! Just be careful, okay? Bailey isn't one to settle down," she said.

"I know, I know. We really are just friends though. I don't know what I'm feeling but it will go away. She's not interested anyway," I admitted, looking down at my feet.

"Trust me, she's very interested," she told me, "And speak of the devil, she has just arrived."

With that, Amanda jumped up and left, leaving me alone on the empty lounge. I saw Bailey walking in with Dylan and a few of the guys from the 'popular group'. She had a small frown on her face and seemed to be looking around for something, or someone. I quickly jumped up and ran over to the punch to act like I was doing something instead of just sitting there feeling like shit because she hadn't arrived.

Bailey's eyes found me and her frown turned into a huge smile. She made her way over to me and I admired her outfit as she walked. She looked stunning as always, and donned a leather jacket, a red button up shirt, black jeans and boots. I loved her style and I couldn't help but look her up and down as she walked towards me.

"Like what you see, Lawrence?" she asked cockily.

"Hmmm, hardly..." I joked, turning back towards the tub of alcohol to grab another cup. The alcohol coursing through my veins had given me some new found confidence and I hoped that it would work in my favour tonight.

"Ooh, sassy. I like it!" she said with a wink. I handed her a cup full of punch and grabbed my own, sipping it while not breaking eye contact.

"I'm kidding Lancaster, you look decent. 6/10," I said. She began to laugh and my body felt hot. From alcohol or arousal? I wasn't sure.

"Well I'll take that. You on the other hand....look fucking sexy," she hummed into my ear, and I could smell alcohol on her breath. She must've had pre drinks before arriving which meant she was probably as drunk as I was right now.

Her hand made its way around my waist and to my lower back, hovering just above my ass. I desperately wanted to tell her she could move lower, but I didn't. I couldn't. She leant in and gave me a kiss on the cheek, and once again I blushed.

"Did I just make Asha Lawrence blush?" she cooed, seeing my rosy cheeks.

"No, must be the alcohol. Sorry to disappoint!" I said cheekily, and I moved out of her grasp and walked towards the dance floor. I looked over my shoulder and saw her watching me as I walked, her lower lip in between her teeth. I sent her a wink and made extra care to sway my hips dramatically as I walked away.

Tonight is going to be an interesting night...
