When The Sun Shines Sunday Morning

The day before was cloudy, cold and lonely
My heart was in ache from the night before
My chest was tight
It rained as my tears came trickling down, just like the rain did
My sobs followed with the thunder and lightning
The emotion of emptiness washed upon my face
As I held each and every broken piece of my heart that was left on the floor
In my cold hands
But I still slept, silently slept with the hushed cries
With a pained chest that ached
If, when the sun shines Sunday morning
Shall I feel whole and warm and healed
From the rays of the bright Sunday morning
