~Seraphina's POV~

I woke up on Monday morning and got out of bed, rubbing my eyes as Chester sleepily got down beside me. After I headed down the hall and entered the bathroom with Chester, I shut and locked the door before I started up the shower, stripping off my clothes while the water heated up.

After the water was heated and I had brushed my teeth, I got into the shower and began to get myself clean. My time in the shower today couldn't have been more than fifteen minutes, since I had shaved yesterday and didn't need to today. I always tried to shave on Sunday, Wednesday and sometimes Friday, if I felt like I needed to, but it was rare that I shaved on Friday's. When I finished showering, I got out and wrapped myself in a towel before returning to my room with Chester, who crawled his way back up into my bed and fell asleep on his pillow. I sat down at my vanity table, making sure I had my towel on securely, and then I began to do my makeup as I always did.

When I finished putting on my makeup, I put a pretty red lipgloss on my lips, the red a dark color that I thought suited me. I quite liked this deep burgundy color. White was my favorite color to wear in clothes, but I really was drawn to dark red lipglosses, if not clear. I wasn't sure why. They just really appealed to me.

Now that I had my makeup done, I made sure I had actually shut my bedroom door before I pulled on a pair of panties. I knew I had, but I always had to double check. After I finished putting on my underwear, I headed into my closet and began to get dressed, pulling on a white pleated skirt with a off the shoulder white shirt with long sleeves. When I had my skirt and top on, I returned to my bedroom and grabbed my brush from where I'd left it on top of my dresser, beginning to brush out my slightly damp hair. It then began to dry much faster after it was brushed out, raising my arms when I slipped my hand under my top to put on my deodorant. I put the lid back on after I was done and spritzed my perfume on, the delightful scent filling my senses.

I wished that I had a pair of booties or something as I slid a pair of white socks with a little lace frill around the ankle, but I didn't. When I said my mom didn't allow me to wear heels, that included things even like heeled booties. My feet now covered by the soft socks, I grabbed a pair of low rise, white nikes that had little cherries on them and pulled them onto my feet, tying up the laces. When I was finished getting dressed, I got up and grabbed my backpack from off the floor, heading out of my bedroom and downstairs. As I stepped off of the stairs, I was surprised to see that Luke was sitting on the couch with his phone, texting someone. He looked up when he noticed my presence, stopping the movements of his fingers as a smile slipped onto his lips. "Oh, hey." He greeted, setting his phone down in his lap.

"Hello." I smiled softly and cocked my head to the side, grabbing onto the straps on my backpack and playing with them. "I wasn't expecting you to be awake yet." I said, keeping my voice quiet in case Carmen was still sleeping upstairs. I didn't know if she was even home because she didn't tell me what her work schedule was.

"Yeah, Carmen went to work about thirty minutes ago and woke me up before she left. I tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn't. So I just decided to stay awake." He explained with a simple shrug of his shoulders. I bit my lip and nodded my head lightly, glancing up at the clock that hung on the wall. It was only six thirty AM, and Enzo and I didn't normally leave for school until around seven AM. "Did you want me to make you breakfast? I have time before I have to leave for school with Enzo." I offered, looking over at him again. I was pretty sure I had enough time to whip up something for him, if he wanted me to.

Luke paused and cocked his head to the side in thought, biting his lip. "Would you mind?" He wondered, peering at me closely, as if he feared that I'd refuse. I smiled and shook my head, tucking my hair behind my ear. "Of course not. Not at all." I assured gently, taking off my backpack and setting it on the couch. "Do you have anything specific you want?" I asked, peering down at him. He pondered my question for a moment before he nodded his head in finality. "Can you make me some egg and sausage sandwiches on biscuits?" He asked as he looked up at me with hopeful blue eyes. I smiled and nodded my head, walking off towards the kitchen. As I left, I heard him scramble up off of the couch and walk after me, following me to the kitchen, probably to watch me cook like he always did.

"Can I help you, please?" He asked as he watched me get out the eggs and little sausage patties from the fridge. "No, that's okay." I declined politely, grabbing a pan from under the counter. I quickly greased the pan and then grabbed a big bowl, setting the pan on the top of the stove. "Nina, please?" He sighed, causing me to look over at him briefly as I cracked a few eggs into the bowl. "You don't have to feel like you have to help me. I really don't mind." I said softly, pouring in milk, salt and pepper into the bowl as well before I began to whisk it all around together. "I don't. I want to." He huffed stubbornly, standing closer beside me now. I bit my lip and glanced up at him as I whisked, slightly distracted by the scent of red apples and cinnamon. "C-Can you just get the sausage open and cook it?" I stammered, giving in. He grinned and I gasped when he stepped right up behind me, wrapping his long arms around my waist to hug me strongly from behind.

I was so caught off guard that I jerked away a little, my eyes widening. "Thank you." He grinned cluelessly, unaware of how I had just freaked out a little bit. However, I couldn't help it. Nobody except Enzo hugged me, and certainly not boys, or men. I was very taken aback.

He then pulled away and went to do what I told him to while I poured the mixture I'd made into the pan, feeling embarrassed that I had reacted the way that I did. I had probably freaked him out, jerking away like that, but I couldn't help it. Luke returned with a small pan and all of the patties, beginning to cook them next to me. Every once in a while, I'd notice him glance over at me with a little smile on his lips before he'd focus back on flipping the patties regularly, as if he was happy I had let him help me for once.

"How do I know if they're done?" He asked me, causing me to look up at him as I carefully placed the pan of egg mixture into the oven and began to let it cook. "This." I said, grabbing the meat thermometer from the drawer beside me and giving him it. He just looked at it with furrowed brows and turned the stove off, not knowing what I was offering to him. "What...What is this?" He asked, confused. I couldn't help but to giggle softly at how clueless he was, carefully sticking the thermometer into the sausage patty. "It's called a meat thermometer." I answered simply. However, that didn't seem to be enough for him. "What does it do?" He mumbled, lost.

I watched as the temperature climbed on the thermometer and pointed at it. "It's used to check the internal temperature on meat to tell if it's cooked all the way. You see how it's at 164 degrees Fahrenheit?" I asked, pointing at the numbers.

"Yeah." He muttered, seeming to be actually listening closely. I liked that he was actually listening to me, even though he probably didn't care very much about meat thermometers and what they did or were used for. "Well, that means this is cooked all the way." I smiled, pulling the thermometer out. "Good job." I said kindly, noticing how he grinned as he moved the patty out of the pan and set it on a little plate beside him before he began to cook another.

While he did that, I got out the little English muffin biscuits from the pantry, opening up the package. The smell of eggs and sausage filled the kitchen, which actually was quite nice. "Okay." Luke said after he cooked a few more patties, turning off the stove and turning to me with his plate of patties. "Sausage is done." He grinned. I knew this must've been his first time cooking because he seemed rather excited and proud of himself. "Good." I smiled slightly and leaned against the island. "All that's left now is to wait for the eggs." I added softly. So that was what we did.

Once the eggs were cooked, I took the pan from the oven and set it on the stovetop, grabbing a butter knife to cut the eggs in little squares to put on the muffins. It all turned out very nice, thankfully. Luke eagerly made himself a sandwich with some cheese on it and I heard him groan in approval as he began to eat it, throwing his head back. "That's so goddamn good, Nina." He murmured out through his bites, making me blush. "You helped." I shrugged softly, but he just rolled his eyes. "Hardly." He snorted, licking his lips as he finished off his first muffin sandwich and began to make another. I put the dirty dishes all into the sink while Luke ate behind me with vocal appreciation, muttering out every few moments about how much he loved my cooking. Knowing that the dishes needed to be done, I went to begin to wash them, but I was halted when Luke shoved himself in front of me. I gasped and stepped back, surprised at how close he was. "You're not doing that." He said firmly.

"But they're dirty." I sighed, frowning up at him. He just grabbed me and spun me around, pushing me towards the island counter. "Yeah, I know, and you just made me breakfast. That means I clean up." He said back, making me frown slightly.

"I always do it, though. It—" I tried to look up at him over my shoulder but he just forced me to look back at the prepared food, shaking his head. "Stop thinking about cleaning. I promise you I will clean up every dish in that sink." He stressed, staring down at me. I pouted and nodded my head, though with great reluctance. He was going to be cleaning up my mess again and I felt bad. All he'd done was help make breakfast a little and was stuck doing the cleaning. I vowed he wouldn't have to do so again, not on my watch.

"I'm guessing that you have to get to school?" He suggested, and I sighed as I nodded. I was feeling sleepy again already. "How unfortunate." He teased, chuckling as he stepped away a little. I soft bit my lip and turned to face him, pushing my hair out of my face. "I'll see you later. Enzo is probably waiting." I said awkwardly, going to rush past him. Before I could get passed him, he gently grabbed my arm and pulled me back with a frown on his pink lips. "Hey, no. Not yet." He huffed, making me frown. Then, he added, "Take one with you. It's the least you deserve." He encouraged, gesturing to the muffin sandwiches. I looked up at him for a moment, partial to disagree so I could leave and that'd be it. However, he gave me a small nudge of encouragement and nodded his head to them again. "C'mon. You're a good girl and a good cook, and you deserve it after you took the time to make it. Take one." He insisted.

A warmth spread through my chest at his kind words and, with a tiny smile, I took one.
