It was still a dream. A dream Cordelia didn't want to wake up from. Misty. Her dearest and sweet Misty, back from hell. After so long. After so many tries, so many sleepless nights. Many positions, books, many visits to hell. A nightmare in real life. She was finally back. She didn't know how or why exactly, - somehow, she felt that this new girl, Mallory, had something to do with it, but it was just impossible to think about that right now-. She was just happy, the happiest that Misty, her Misty, was back. She had waited for this moment for so long, she had expected this to happen, but never really saw the day that it would finally come true. So many things they had to catch on, Cordelia had to think about her recovering, she had to make some time for Misty but also don't forget about her work. That didn't matter. Misty matter this very moment.
After the greeting at the front door, after some tears and laughs and some words from her dear Misty, they had decided to walk out to the new garden that Cordelia had set just on the back of the house. Misty seemed surprised, speechless even, it was beautiful and it had just every plant and flower she knew . It reminded her of her swamp. Cordelia just stared at her in awe, almost pinching herself to confirm that this was not another silly and short dream. Because she has had many of those and they always ended in the best part. The part that she had wanted to become true, even in this very moment, but she knew it was a little too soon for that.
Cordelia didn't know where to start, she didn't know if she should ask Misty about what she had gone through, that wasn't something you asked someone who went through so much, let alone who went through their own hell. She had lost track of the time, she was a little lost, not even knowing how long she had been down there. But Cordelia had counted the days, the minutes, the seconds. She knew how long she had been there, but she didn't want to say anything until Misty asked or let Cordelia know that she wanted to know about it.
"This is so beautiful, Miss Cordelia. Y'did it on your own?" Misty asked as she turned to look at Cordelia, touching with the tip of her fingers the plants.
"Yeah, it took a while but...it's finally done." Cordelia smiled. "I was actually thinking about doing it a little bigger."
"What about the greenhouse?" Misty's eyes glimmered at this, staring right into Cordelia's eyes.
Cordelia felt her heart fluttering, extending her hand for Misty to take it. "Come on." She said quietly, almost like a whisper, but loud enough for Misty to hear her.
Misty's cheek flushed as she grabbed her hand and followed Cordelia even if she already knew the way. When she grabbed her hand, she felt something cold against her fingers, she meant to look down, curious of what it was but figured they were just some simple rings. Her face softened when she entered and figured that nothing had really change, just some small new plants laying around. She then noticed her record player, making her heart beat even faster.
"I knew somehow you'll be back." Cordelia said as she walked beside Misty, not letting go of her hand.
Misty looked at her and couldn't contain herself, throwing her arms around Cordelia and hugging her tightly. "Oh, Miss Cordelia. I'm so happy to be back." She said as some tears rolled down her cheeks again.
Cordelia ran her hand through her hair while the other was wrapped around her. "I'm so happy you're back, my dear Misty."
Misty pulled away for a moment and stared into Cordelia's eyes. She smiled as she studied her whole face but mostly focused on her eyes. "They are both brown...thought they were really different colors." She giggled softly.
Cordelia chuckled and stroked her cheek softly. "They are brown, I had borrowed someone else's eyes." She giggled. She got completey lost into Misty's ocean eyes, not really thinking what she was doing anymore. When had finally decided to lean in, her phone decided to go off, making them both jump at this and pull away.
"Duty calls." Misty chuckled nervously.
Cordelia nodded. "I'm afraid so." She looked up at Misty and huffed. "Let's go inside so you can have something to eat."
Misty nodded as she grabbed Cordelia's hand again, leading the way out of the greenhouse.

After Misty had finished eating, she had moved back to the room, deciding to wait for Cordelia before going to sleep. She played some Stevie as she sat on the floor, reading a book Cordelia had given her, it was interesting because it also had pictures and she could really open her mind to imagination. She was not one to read but she had to entertain herself in something and she had to also start reading magic books to improve her magic and get her powers back. Reading would make everything easier at this point.
Her mind was cut when she heard the door opening and she found Cordelia entering the room. She looked up and smiled as she saw her, standing up from the floor and noticing something in Cordelia's hands.
"Whatcha got in there?" She asked as she bit her lip.
"Hot cocoa." She smiled. "I thought maybe you'd like some for this cold night."
"I'd love some, thanks." Misty followed Cordelia to the little table she had in front of the window so she could grab her cup.
"I was thinking maybe you can come to the greenhouse tomorrow with me. Maybe we can plant something and we can start with your recovering. I'd like to take it step by step." Cordelia said softly as she placed both cups down on the table. She looked up at Misty and smiled. "I just want you to feel comfortable and I'd do anything to help you."
Misty smiled at this and nodded. "I know...I guess it just...it'd take a little longer because I...I feel like I lost my footing but...I-I'm willin' to learn."
Cordelia tilted her head and brought her hand to Misty's cheek, stroking it softly. "I will help you find it again, that's a promise, darling."
Misty smiled and couldn't help but place her hand on top of Cordelia's, bringing it to her lips and kissing the back of it. It had seemed a sweet move, but the moment was over when Misty looked down and her eyes widened a little, her heart skipping a beat as she noticed Cordelia's rings. Images came back to her mind, she felt her body stiffening as she stared at Cordelia's hand, her fingers running unconsciously against the silver rings.
Cordelia noticed Misty's reaction, thinking maybe she was feeling emotional by seeing her rings. Without knowing what she was really feeling, she smiled a little and looked down at her rings. "I found those rings after you left...I thought maybe using them would bring me much closer to you and...I'd just...remember you and have you with me every single day." She looked up at Misty, her voice soft.
Misty shook her head softly, not really copying with what Cordelia had said. She knew she didn't have to react that way, Cordelia was being sweet and nice. But the memories in her head, they were bringing her back to that place even if she was still there. She let go of Cordelia's hand and took a step back, shocking her head repeatedly, whispering 'no' and bringing her hands to her head, feeling as if her head was going to explode at any second.
Cordelia then furrowed her brows, noticing that Misty's reaction wasn't the one she had thought after all. She tilted her head and walked a little closer to Misty, but also giving her space to breath. "M-Misty? What's wrong?"
Misty sobbed softly, tears running down her tears as she shook her head. She could feel drops of sweat running down her forehead, she suddenly felt hot, as if the room had become... hell. It was starting to become hard to breath, her chest felt tight, her throat was closing and everything around her felt small. The room felt small, she felt like there wasn't any soruce of air for her to breath. "N-No...n-not aga-gain..." She tried to take deep breaths but it was becoming impossible to do so.
Cordelia felt her heart breaking, Misty was panicking. She looked down at her rings and rapidly took them off, throwing them away from them. She walked closer to Misty, not knowing if it was a good idea to touch her or even get any closer to her, but she needed to help her calm down and help her breath. "Misty...I-I'm going to step closer, yes? I need you to breath for me. Please..." She whispered softly as she wrapped her arms around her slowly, but maybe that was a bad move.
Misty tensed and tried to push Cordelia away. "No! Stay away! Stay away! I can't go back! Don't let me go back! Please! No!" She started screaming uncontrollably, trying to get away from Cordelia but she was too weak to even push Cordelia away. She tried her best, she felt her chest tightening even more and the voices in her head were attacking her, telling her she was going back there. She lost consciousness, she left reality and was stuck in her own mind. She pulled on her hair, closing her eyes as she screamed, falling down to the floor.
Cordelia's eyes widened, scared at what she was witnessing. She felt Misty trying to pull her away and it broke her heart even more. She tried to keep her arms wrapped around her, not knowing what could happen if she let Misty go. She felt her own tears falling down her cheeks as she held her, she didn't say anything, she was just trying to let Misty let everything out while she still held her. She waited for a few seconds until Misty fell to the ground, making Cordelia follow her and kneel down as she kept her close to her. She started moving them in a soothing move, she rubbed her back and tried to pull her closer so Misty could follow her breathing and could feel her heartbeat.
"You're okay...it's okay...I'm here." Cordelia whispered softly as she kissed her forehead. "You're not going anywhere. I'm here and I won't let anything hurt you, Misty. You're not going anywhere." She sobbed softly as she closed her eyes, feeling herself breaking. "Just follow my breath...let me take care of you."
After what seemed like hours, Misty finally calmed down, crying and sobbing against Cordelia's chest as she wrapped her arms tightly around her. She hadn't expected this to happen, but Cordelia knew nothing about what she had gone through. She didn't know what she had seen down there and now she had scared her. She waited until she felt her chest softening and getting her breathing back to normal. She suddenly felt tired, her chest was hurting and so was her throat. She was ashamed, embarrassed, but she couldn't help it. She was afraid.
"I-I'm sorry..." Misty whispered softly.
Cordelia shushed her and kept moving them both. "You're okay, my love. Everything is okay." She whispered softly as she kept planting soft kisses on her forehead, brushing away her wet hair and trying to wipe away the sweat. "You don't have to say anything."
"Y-Ya didn't know...I just...it took...it took me b-back." She whispered as she sobbed again.
Cordelia then understood in that moment and cursed under her breath. How stupid was she? But Misty was right. She didn't know. She now knew she didn't have to ask or even make any comments about it, not if Misty was not ready to talk. "It's okay...we don't have to talk about it. I'm here." She sighed softly.
"Maybe some other time...r-right now I just...I wanna forget about it...I wanna stay like this...in your arms...I-I feel safe..." She said softly as she looked up at Cordelia.
Cordelia looked down at her and brushed the hair away from her face, smiling softly and nodding, leaning down to kiss just beside her lips. "We can do that. It's only you and me, for as long as you want me."
Misty nodded as she took a deep, shaky breath. "Please." She buried her face on the crock of Cordelia's neck, sighing softly as she closed her eyes for a moment.
After that night, both witches went to bed, Cordelia holding Misty close to her, ot needing any more words to be said. The next morning, she had let Zoe and Queenie know that she was going to stay with Misty until she woke up and was sure to go downstairs to join the others, not wanting to leave her side anymore. She laid on bed, Misty still in her arms and Cordelia rubbing her back softly and staring down at her. It had been a tough night, Misty had cried again, sobbed and had tried to push her away, but Cordelia didn't let that happen and held her as tight and as close she could. Cordelia knew this was going to be harder than she thought, Misty had suffered so much and for so long in a hell only she knew. Cordelia wasn't going to ask any questions, she wasn't going to say anything at all. She was going to let Misty decide when to talk, she was going to let her decide how long she was going to take to recover. It was going to be a long ride for both of them, but just like Misty had said, Cordelia was willing to help her recover and give her that light she had lost in that horrible place. Misty wasn't alone. Not anymore.
