Sebastian's POV
I heard someone softly shut the door and take their place next to me. A small smile stretched over my face seeing it was my new girlfriend, Azalea. I couldn't have felt more luckier then to be with her, even if we were in some other time period. I was one lucky guy. I then frowned seeing the thoughtful look displayed on her face.
"Whatcha thinkin' about?" I asked gently nudging her arm. It brought her out of her state, she blinked and looked into the backyard.
"Did you notice something...funny about your mom when you woke up?" she bluntly asked. The question surprised me but I thought back to this morning...
Sodapop had just served some pancakes with chocolate chips. They were really good.
"Thanks Sodapop." I smiled stuffing my face full of the pancakes. Soda laughed as did Azalea, who was eating with me at the table. Soda cleaned up the kitchen and it was quiet for a Sunday morning. Brandon wasn't awake yet and Dallas and Sapphire didn't usually come over til way later.
"Any plans today?" Soda asked wiping his hands on a rag. Azalea shrugged.
"Not that we know of. Sapphire usually makes the plans for us." she chuckled and I smiled.
"That's true. She and Brandon usually know what to do around here." Soda chuckled and smiled. There was then the soft padding of footsteps making me turn my head. My mom was softly making her way out to the kitchen. She looked like hell though. Her hair was messy, her eyes had rings beneath them, and she looked a little pale.
"Mom? You alright?" I asked as I put away my dish in the sink. My mom barely acknowledged me as she sat down on the couch, dad following her and sitting down next to her, his arm wrapping around her holding her close. They were cuddling.
"Dad is mom okay?" I asked getting worried. My dad looked over at me. I flinched a little but not enough to be barely noticed. It was the look in his eyes.
"Your mother's just a little sick this mornin' kiddo. She'll be alright within a day or two." I nodded before going out to the back porch to think.
I nodded slowly as the memory ended in my mind. Azalea's eyebrows furrowed as she noticed I was thinking about something.
"What is it?" she asked.
"There was something wrong with my mom. She seemed off, like,...she wouldn't acknowledge anybody and she was real pale. And dad..." my eyes narrowed. Azalea looked at me oddly.
"What about your dad?" she asked pausing at the end of her question. But before I could respond Sapphire and Brandon appeared out of nowhere. Sapphire looked concerned and her look showed business.
"You two. Follow me. We need to have a meeting now." she said.
"Where are we going?" Azalea asked.
"The park." Brandon answered his older sister. Azalea and I nodded before hopping up and following them through the house. Soda and Dallas looked toward us.
"Where you kids goin'?" Dallas asked.
"We're going to the park daddy. We'll be back." Sapphire responded before the four of us left the house and took off to the park. Sapphire immediantly started talking.
"Do you notice anything wrong with our mothers?" she started looking toward Azalea and I. I slightly nodded and Azalea didn't say anything, but she knew something was wrong with her mother.
"Yeah why? What's going on?" I asked. Sapphire sighed as she sat on the monkey bars, Brandon joining her.
"Yeah but that's not all. Did you notice something different about your dads." Brandon pointed out. I then thought about it. Something was off about my dad. I remember I had flinched when he looked at me. I turned to Azalea who seemed to be remembering something.
"What is it Lea?" Brandon asked. Azalea fiddled with her fingers before saying,
"I remember asking my dad how she got hurt, the bruise on her cheek...he said he wasn't sure. Mom didn't remember and told me not to worry about it. He said it very quickly and harshly..." she whispered. Sapphire's eyes narrowed.
"Something's up with our mom and dad's. And we're gonna find out." she said determined.
"How are we supposed to find out?" Lea asked. I glanced at her almost worried before turning back to Brandon and Sapphire. Sapphire had a look like she was thinking of a plan. Brandon rolled his eyes.
"Exactly. You dont even know." Brandon stuck his tongue out at her. Sapphire narrowed her eyes at him.
"Shut it Curtis. I'm gonna figure it out one way or another. We all are. Something's wrong with our mom and dad's, and we're going to figure it out." she said. "The only people who are normal are my dad, Brandon's dad and everyone else." I nodded along with Lea. This was going to be risky but she proved a point. Something was wrong with my mom and dad, and Lea's mom and dad. And this was something to be solved by us.
Here we go.
Dylan Stark's POV
Everyone was buying the whole "we were the husband's" act. I looked over to Jeremy who was cuddling with big mouth bitch, or well, Tyler anyways. We couldn't sware or do anything physical or violent. We had to be sweet, loving, affectionate and everything we werent. It was tricky but Aaron forced it upon us if we weren't it blow our cover.
It wasn't too bad. I was like that once in my life, when I had a girlfriend back in highschool...
Her name was Roxy Adams. She had red hair, freckles and she wasn't like most soc girls. She had the personality worth dying for. I loved her and she loved me, well, at least I thought she did. Her and I always skipped eigth period to either hang out at the Dingo or make out after school at my house or hers. Her parents were never home and neither were mine. It was perfect.
One day we had been at my house and her lipstick was all over my face. I could feel it.
"Dylan, I need to catch my breath." she laughed lightly her white teeth showing as she smiled at me. I chuckled and pulled her on my lap, giving her teasing kisses sometimes. I wasn't the furious type. I always took it slow with her and if she didn't want it, I didn't give it. She appreciated it.
"Made you that out of breath, huh?" I chuckled and she blushed.
"Yes, you did. But listen, I need to talk to you about something." her voice went soft and trailed off. Did I do something wrong? What did I say? My eyes widened a bit and she scooted off my lap, her hands face down on her legs and she looked down at the ground.
"Roxy what is it?" I asked needing to know what it was she was going to tell me. Roxy bit her lip and tears welled up in her eyes. Shit what did I do?!
"Dylan...we can't be together anymore..." her voice cracked and she started to cry.
...What...?
"Wait...what?" my heart literally tore into two at her words. "Why Roxy? What did I do or say? I'm sorry whatever it is I did.." she cut me off.
"You didn't do anything Dylan. I fell in love with another guy. His name is Marcus Wood." That jock from the football team. That retched bastard. I nodded and looked down.
"So...this is it huh..." I asked my voice fading. Roxy nodded sadly.
"Yeah.." she stood up and I did too. She looked at me her eyes already staining with makeup. I hated seeing her this way but I didn't care anymore. I suddenly started to lose feeling.
"I should go now Dylan. I'll...I'll see you at school. Bye." she said sniffling before turning on her heel and leaving. I sighed to myself and curled up on the couch.
"Good bye Roxy Adams."
"Dylan? Dylan sweetie are you okay?" Asia was shaking my arm gently making me blink out of my trance. I smiled at her, wrapped my arm around her waist and nodded.
"I'm fine dont worry about it." I responded to her question. She half frowned.
"You telling me that makes me worry about it." she chuckled lightly before leaning her head on my shoulder. The feeling of when Roxy did that came back but I shook those feelings away. Unless...I should've just pretended it was her. I had to think about this one.
"How's your headache?" I asked suddenly remembering she woke up ill this morning.
"It's gone now. I'm feeling alright." Asia replied smiling before kissing my cheek. A warm feeling awakened but I growled to myself. Asia looked at me weirdly.
"Did you just growl?" she asked with a small laugh. I only laughed lightly with her.
"Yeah." she chuckled and wrapped her arm around mine before nuzzling my cheek and going up over to Tyler and Jeremy coming over to me.
"How you doin' man?" Jeremy asked. He looked like he wanted to kill himself.
"I'm doing fine...I thought about...her again." Jeremy then comprehended who I was speaking of.
"Roxy?" he whispered.
"Shh!" I hissed but nodded. "Yes her."
"Dude, that's dangerous thinking." he said before leading us out to the backyard just as the kids came back pouring into the house. I wonder what they were up to...the little brats.
"Hey kiddos whats up?" I heard Sodapop ask them as we closed the door behind us.
"I know its dangerous thinking just...having to be soft, affectionate and shit just reminded me of Roxy." I said running my hands through my hair. Jeremy sighed and traced a design into the floorboard of the porch.
"Yeah I know man, but we gotta keep it together. If you go all soft Aaron will make you go all criminal again." he smirked before giving me a shove. I chuckled before looking out at the backyard. It looked nice for a bunch of people I hated and despised. The breeze was cool and the day couldn't seem nicer.
"Your dangerous thinking aren't you again?" Jeremy rolled his eyes as did I.
"Shut up man." I retorted before sighing. It was a moment of silence before Jeremy's eyes lit up.
"I have an idea..." Jeremy started to say. I turned my head to him.
"What's that genius?" I asked rolling my eyes.
"Let's go on a date with the girls." he then whispered the rest of the plan to me and I smiled with a nod.
"Alright. Sounds like a plan." I said with a nod.
Tonight I was goin' on a date.
