You sat miserable in the drivers seat of your car staring at the chemist store infront. You had suspected you'd been pregnant for a while but now, sitting outside the office you were terrified. What would Michael think? Were you both ready for a baby?
You pluck up the courage to go inside and you stand staring at the pregnancy tests and end up buying three different kinds, just incase. You take them to self service to avoid embarrassment and then you head to the bathrooms. You couldn't take them home, Michael couldn't know, not just yet.
You sit waiting for the results, trying to imagine a life with you and Michael as parents and a little baby toddling through your apartment.
After five minutes all tests are positive and all you can think about is Michael running off, never coming back and leaving you with a tiny baby.
You rush home, tears blurring your vision. You were dreading telling Michael.
You sit in the sofa, one of the pregnancy tests on the coffee table. You were overthinking everything, trying to come up with some excuse.
"Honey, I'm home." Michael sings in his usual, joking manner. He swaggers through to you and sits on the couch opposite. Not even noticing the uneasiness in the room.
"How's your day?" He smiles looking over to you and sensing your mood.
"Y/N?" He raises an eyebrow,
"Michael, we have to talk." You sigh putting your head between your hands. "I have news and all I want you to know is that I don't care what you do, I love you, okay?" You take a deep breath and watch Michael do the same.
"I'm..." You try to fight the words out but once you say it out loud, it's real and you can't ever take it back, "I'm pregnant, Michael." You say and you watch him for any sign of emotion. The room slips into an awkward silence and you know he's not taking it well. You go to the kitchen, tears spewing from your eyes. You don't want to cry in front of him. Not now.
You lean on the Work top, looking out the window trying to find peace and calm down but you can't. You feel two hands on your hips, moving around to cup your belly.
"I can't wait to start a family with you," Michael whispers into your ear.
