"You  fascinated me,
cloaked in shadows and secrecy."
━━━━━ ━━━━━

Everyone at the camp was fascinated by Jack. Enchanted by his kind eyes and warm soul. Mali had kept herself separate as much everyone as she could. The sadness in their eyes reflected the guilt in hers, she had caused their pain and suffering, not Micheal not Lucifer. Her, and it was time to accept that.

"Hey kid, come here!" Mary shouted to her as she sat herself, and warily she stood up and walked over to her. Mali couldn't help but take a step back as Mary raised a hand to her forehead, and her expression softened once she saw the girl's reaction.

"You don't look very well," Mary sighed, "have been eating anything recently? Got any rest?"

"No I don't eat or sleep much," The girl replied, staring down at the ground in shame. She didn't fit in and she never would.

"Yeah sorry I forgot about that," she smiled,"I've been hunting nearly my whole life yet I still have no idea where to begin with you or Jack." The woman then began walking and Mali followed as they clattered along the trail of mud.

"You're very similar you know," Mary continued as they stopped, Jack happened to be over with the kids a great big smile on his face as he created shadows which resembled animals.Mali found herself just as fascinated by his shadows as the kids.

"You look at me like you know me, and I see guilt in your eyes," Mary began, her voice stern,"What are you hiding from me?"

Mali was apprehensive about answering but she figured it was time to let loose, no more lying. "Bobby told you that the you from here was killed by Azazel, and that was true." She started, "but I was there too."

Mary kept quiet as she flashed her eyes down to the ground.

"I was tracking Azazel," The nephilim continued, "and he was tracking you."

"He was up to his usual business, preying on what humans were left he made deals in exchange that he could give them his blood. He wanted to create more of the demon blooded children he used in the war to defend himself."

"And that's when he realised you were the key, you were always the key to everything, your womb held the power to create the strongest demon blooded child, but you were alone and he'd ruined everything by killing John Winchester."

"I went to kill him but you got in the way," she turned to Mary, her eyes filling with guilt,"your life was expendable and if I got to kill the last prince then maybe Micheal would've stopped," the tears ran from her eyes. "I just wanted him to stop."

Mary placed an arm on the girl and brought her into her shoulder where she wept. She didn't want to continue opening old wounds but if they were going to kill Micheal they needed to know everything.

"What did you want him to stop?" Mary asked, and she could feel the girl freeze in her arms.

"He messes with my head, h-he got in my head to look for his brothers within our world," The girl looked up to her with her large brown eyes,"and in others."

"I've seen it too, in her head I mean," Jack sympathised as he walked over alone. Mali found herself sitting up straight, and anxiously wiped the tears from under her eyes. She didn't want him to see her in a weakened state.

"She can do things I can't and I think Micheal hid more about her than we realised," he said while taking a seat beside them. Jack could see how broken down the girl was, he wanted to explain the plans the humans had been making to kill the angels, the resistance stood a chance of actually winning.

But the boy feared trusting her after she manipulated and played him last time, and he knew she would have to earn his trust back.

"You lot got a minute?" Bobby Singer asked as he marched up to them, and all of them followed him into a tent where they sat down for a meeting. Jack, Jo and Mary had been brought into the muddle circle, but Mali hadn't allowed herself, instead she only cane when they were going to question her.

Jo watched as the gang of other worlders walked in, and she was saddened when seeing how pale her friend the prophet looked. Charlie, a redhead she had met out on the field had arrived back to camp to report, most likely what called the meeting in the first place.

"So about the people going missing?" Charlie started, "I've came across several human hunters who work for the angels, they're taking anyone they can get to Silo where they are tortured for information or taken as vessels."

"We've lost 10 men in the last month, ten good strong men dammit," Bobby sighed, and it served as a reminder to Jo why she wouldn't come back to the camps. But her time for hiding was over, and she needed to help the resistance or they'd all die.

"Mali, what do you know of the camps?" Jo found herself asking. She could see she was apprehensive about speaking but with a smile from Jo she took a deep breath.

"It's all lower angels who run those camps, Micheal doesn't have anything to do with them." She shook her head, and she could feel the red-headed girl glare at her.

"Who's this?" Charlie asked as she crossed her arms.

"Micheal's prophet," Bobby muttered in response, "why's it matter?"

"Because from what I've heard a boy going along the name of Kevin Tran is Micheal's prophet," she bounced back, completely untrusting of her, she had an evil glare in her eyes, something impeccably similar to the angels she had seen. Charlie didn't trust her one bit.

"She's next after Kevin," Jack found himself speaking, "the angels tracked her down for after they're done with him." He explained, from the day they got there Jack and Mary realised they had to stick with the story Mali told Jo, that to everyone at the camp Jack and Mali were just more humans.

"We need to take down Micheal before he wipes out all life left on the earth, The Malignant has been silent, we don't know what it's planning but if it's something big we're dead, because they're a much bigger threat than both Lucifer and Micheal combined." Jo stated, and many of the inner circle agreed, there was no more time to mess around.

"I agree," Mary Campbell sighed, they had to start breaking people out of the camps to raise their numbers. And as soon as they did, they would attack with everything they had. Jack and herself may not have been from this world, but it was their fight as much as anyone elses.

And they were going to make sure they won.

Outside, the torches around the camp provided a small sense of light and security in the dark of the night. Mary watched as Jack and Mali sat and talked, hopefully removing any tension that was between them, if they were going to kill Micheal she needed to have Mali on board too.

She found herself watching as Jack once again created animal shadows out of his hands. The kids loved it, and as she stood with her hands crossed it reminded her that at the end of the day, Mali and Jack were both still children.

A rugged Bobby walked up to her with a smile on his face as he handed her a drink.

"Go easy," he warned while smiling, "I added a nip of whiskey."

Mary couldn't help but chuckle as she took a sip, and Bobby did too while looking at her strangely. She could feel his eyes on her as she downed her drink, and Bobbys expression softened once he realised what he was doing.

" I don't mean to stare," he clenched his lips. "Just... you... you look just like her. Give or take a year or two."

Mary smiled as she thought of what life here must've been like, what it would've done to her. "What was she like?" She asked the hunter, curious.

"Mary Campbell was a... ," He inhaled deeply, "complicated woman."

Mary chuckled as she didn't seem too different from her then, what was more complicated than being brought back from the dead by Gods sister after years of being in heaven - a time she couldn't remember.

"Brave, but sad. Full of regret." Bobby continued, he found it so strange talking to his old friend again, and he had to keep reminding himself that it wasn't her, the Mary he knew was gone, and she was gone in spirit long before she died physically.

"Let me guess..." Mary began sarcastically, "She made a bad demon deal?"

"Opposite. She didn't make one." Bobby corrected, and the reminder that no matter what she did she always lost John hurt Mary. " She lost the love of her life. Never moved on." Bobby finished.

"And Dean and Sam were never born." She realised.

"Bobby, I made that deal. And it—I brought my boys a lot of pain." She sighed, the memories of the day John died in her arms playing on a loop. "But...what happened here, in your world? Sam and Dean stopped that war in mine."A small smile formed across her face, proud was an understatement for how she felt of her boys and she missed them dearly.

"Then I'd say you made the right choice." Bobby confirmed, and it left Mary with a little more peace in her mind from where she was conflicted.

"Huh," was all she found herself saying in response.

"Well, I don't know much, but... I do know you done good by your boys." He smiled, it felt like yesterday those boys had jumped into his life. "They hadn't been here five minutes when they were trying to convince me to come with them to their world."

"But you said no?" Mary questioned, she wasn't sure as to why someone wouldn't want a life in a world where they could start over, be normal again without worrying about angels killing them.

"Mary... " Bobby began to explain, "your world's got your boys. This place? I'm pretty much all it's got." He sad sadly, and Mary couldn't help but look over to the kids at the campfire where she realised how right he was. This world had Mali, and they didn't know it yet but Mary was confident she would do the right thing and lead the humans to their future.

Both Mary and Bobby turned to watch Jack continue to create shadow puppets, Mary could see the eagerness in Mali's face to join in, but once she turned towards Mary she realised she couldn't. If Mali revealed her powers then they would be caught out for lying, it was bad enough bringing one nephilim into the camp, but the other who had destroyed their world in the first place too?

Bobby watched as the kid continued to make more unique animals which weren't physically possible, and it had been awhile since he had seen a supernatural creature or person with powers. He wasn't opposed to them anymore, if they were on their side he didn't really mind.

But Bobby hated that when he took a look at Jack it reminded him of his late son.

"What is he? A witch? Psychic?" Bobby asked as Jack created an elephant.

Mary didn't want to lie to her friend and figured the truth would be exposed anyways. So she decided to go with her gut and tell Bobby the truth as the children in front of them continued to laugh.

"Jack's a Nephilim." Mary outrightly stated. And within seconds she could see the fear and across cross over his face.

"Excuse me?"

"He... he's... half-angel, half—" Mary stuttered as she tries to get words to form.

"I know what it means!" Bobby responded aggressively. "Why I don't get is why the hell you would bring one into my camp. You know what angels have done to us. I... I trusted you." Bobby shook his head, he was a fool, for all he knew he could've been working with Micheal or worse...The Malignant.

"I want him gone by morning." Bobby threatened.

"If he goes," Mary looked up from the ground directly into Bobbys eyes. "Then Mali and I go with him."

"Well, then that's your choice." Bobby accepted, he was willing to risk her over the lives of everyone in the camp.

Mary had hoped that by pleading it would've been enough to let them both stay, but Bobbys lifetime of being hurt by angels had pained him. She accepted his words even though they stung her.

She too had been apprehensive of both nephilim but with the time they spent together recently was when she saw who the kids really were. How broken and manipulated Mali really was, in another world of she was raised by the Winchester's, Mary was sure she would've turned out just like Jack.

"Look, Mary, when this all started, when Lucifer and his demon army rose out of Hell, we thought the angels were on our side. But one by one, they turned on us." Bobby warned before beginning to walk away.

"He will, too. It's just a matter of time." Bobbys words echoed, but Mary knew he was wrong. Jack was a Winchester, and he'd protect her until her death for Mary could feel it in her bones. In this broken world so caught up in destroying itself he'd help put a little bit of it back together.
