Jonathan's POV
Lily leaves as the night inches closer. And because Dad asked her to.
Dad sits on my bed. He run his fingers over the sheets. "Your sister was born in this bed." He whispers softly. "I remember her having red hair like Clary's, but I didn't see her eyes."
I look down at my hands. Dad never talks about Ariana. She was a painful subject for everyone. All I can remember of her was the loud screams mom had as she gave birth and mom telling me she didn't make it.
"Jonathan your mother is so worried about you. She thought you were going to die." Dad doesn't look at me. He focuses on his hands. "Jon, do me a favor and never scare us like that again."
He looks me in the eyes. It clicks. Mom and Dad already lost one child. I can't leave them.
"I promise."
Unknown POV
"Master I killed the Parabatai, but young Herondale seems unaffected." I say.
"I SHOULD HAVE YOU KILLED FOR SUCH!!!" Master yells. "But, I won't. You are my only eyes and ears, get me what I need."
I turn to walk out. "Send Ariana in."
"As you wish, Master." I bow and the the Heorndale daughter.
