Abigail POV
"What the fuck just happened" I shook my head. Right now I was sitting on a bean bag with Maura and Lucie
"I didn't think he was gonna pick you, I honestly didn't," Maura said
"Either way it would have been hard for the other one and by the looks of it Anton is pissed" I frowned
"Just give him some space" Lucie squeezed my hand "he'll come around"
"I hope so," I said "I should probably go speak to Joe"
"Good luck babe," Maura and Lucie said as I got up. I went up to the kitchen
"Hey Joe, can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked
"Of course" He nodded and followed me up to the swing
"I wanted to say thank you for picking me" I admitted
"I wanted to" he grinned "As soon as the text came in I was so scared because I just knew that if Anton got to go before me then he would pick you"
"Yeah" I nodded "I was fucking terrified because for some mad reason I just thought neither of you would pick me"
"Nah I was always going to" he chuckled "I haven't seen Anton since the recoupling though"
"Me neither" I frowned "For now I'm going to give him space but I'll speak to him tomorrow"
"Good" he nodded "Anyway are you happy I chose you?"
"Yeah of course" I grinned "You are my type and we get along well so why wouldn't I be"
"Fair enough" he chuckled and looked around quickly "Would you kiss me right now?"
"Not now" I blushed "With the whole recoupling drama I wouldn't"
"Alright" he nodded and wrapped an arm around my shoulders
Abigail: Tonight has been full of drama and I'm kind of glad that for now, we can all just get some rest and then hopefully tomorrow things will be better
We went inside and changed into our pyjama's before heading downstairs. I got into bed with Joe and cuddled with him
The next morning Molly and I made breakfast before we went inside to change
"So are you happy about last night?" Arabella asked me
"I don't even know" I sighed "Like part of me is happy but the other part of me is sort of worried about Anton"
"Speak of the devil" I looked behind me and saw him sunbathing so I got up and went over to him
"Anton" I sat next to him "Can we talk?"
"Sure" He sighed and sat up "I know what you're going to ask and yes I'm fine"
"I don't think you are" I frowned "I didn't see you after the recoupling"
"I just wanted space" he shrugged "That's fair enough when another guy chooses the girl you like"
"Anton, he had to pick someone" I sighed "It was a 50/50 between Lucie and I, none of us knew which one of us he would pick"
"I know but I'm still pissed off, like what am I meant to do now?" He rolled his eyes
"Why don't you try with Lucie?" I suggested, "I know youse fancy each other so why not?"
"Because I like you!"
"I like you too but I still went for Joe" I pointed out
Anton: I wanted to pick her, everyone knew that so now I have to watch her and Joe be coupled up. Great
That evening I decided to sit with Anna and Molly on a day bed instead of being around any of the boys
Third Person POV
"Joe" Anton went up to him, "I think we need to talk"
"Yeah" Joe nodded and followed him down to the drinks table
"Look," Anton said, "I think you were really pathetic by choosing Abi last night, you knew I wanted too and you did it anyway"
"I had to pick Abi or Lucie" Joe defended himself "I like Abi and I want to see if we could be together properly"
"You could have talked to me"
"And said what? 'I'm gonna pick your bird tonight, hope that's alright' I didn't even know what I was gonna do until I stood up" Joe said
"That's bullshit" Anton snapped "You knew I wanted to pick her and you did it anyway!"
"I had to pick someone!"
"Why her?"
"Because I like her!" Joe retorted angrily "I know you're pissed but I'm not going to back off just because of that"
"Well, I'm not backing off either!"
"I fucking picked her! Get over it mate"
"No, I won't!"
"You're fucking pathetic!"
"You picked the girl I like!"
"Boys!" Abi came storming in "Both of you shut the fuck up right now!" They silenced "Anton, Joe picked me, there's nothing anyone can do about it. And Joe, don't fight him over this, he's allowed to be pissed. But both of you better bloody grow up because if you keep fighting like this then I'm done with both of you"
"Fine" Joe huffed
"Fine" Anton said
"Now both of you go" She snapped and they walked off in separate directions
Abigail POV
Abigail: How childish can they be? I get that Anton's pissed and all but there's no excuse for them to fight, I'm not a fucking trophy to compete over
"I'm sorry" Joe whispered as we lay in bed "I let him get under my skin and I shouldn't have"
"Thank you" I smiled "Just please don't fight with him like that again. I'm not a prize one of you can win"
"I know" he nodded "And I'm really sorry"
"Good," I said and lay my head on his chest while his arms wrapped around me
