June 8th the day before Prom Day
Julian's Apartment
"So, you're telling me Sean is a headass and asked Bailey to prom instead of Kaycee despite having a crush on Kaycee and wants you to take Kaycee to prom for the opportunity for as he puts it 'swap dates' so he can be with Kaycee which you said would hurt Bailey" Julian said repeating what Josh had just told him "And because of this whole preparing for prom experience Sean is starting to like Bailey despite still liking Kaycee"
"Yeah that essentially covers it," Josh said thinking he covered everything "I already told Sean I would tell you as this whole scenario is a mess and I had to talk to someone"
"Appreciate that bro," Julian said
"Yeah and I honestly have no idea how Bailey feels about Sean so there's still some missing variables," Josh said
"Go ask out Kaycee," Julian said
"But-"
"Go!" Julian said
"I don't think it's a good idea," Josh said
"I understand your point but frankly it doesn't matter anymore you don't have a date and she doesn't have a date so you have to ask her," Julian said
"I just-"
"Bro I know you don't want to encourage whatever Sean might end up doing but you have to do this to help a friend" Julian said as of right now Kaycee being dateless was more important "Ideally someone else that liked her would have asked her but that didn't happen so you have to ask Kaycee to the dance"
"...fine" Josh said as he got up "I guess I should do some promposal or something"
"Or just bring flowers," Julian said
"That works," Josh said grabbing the flowers from the vase "Wish me luck!"
As Josh left the apartment "My sister got me those flowers..." Julian said to himself as Josh left
Private Studio
Bailey was working on her choreography and Sean got dragged along who was also supposed to be working on choreography but he hasn't felt motivated as he usually does it with Kaycee
"I can't wait for the prom tomorrow!" Bailey said
"Yeah should be fun!" Sean said agreeing as despite the date situation the event should be fun with all his friends
"And Willdabeast went all out, right?" Bailey asked as if anyone would know it would be Sean
"Yep! He basically made it indistinguishable from a regular high school prom there are some Immabeast decorations and such though" Sean said
"I can't wait to spend the night with you," Bailey said getting down on her knees to be level eyed with Sean who was sitting against the mirror
"I mean we're arriving with a crew between Tahani and Kenny, and Julian with Charlize it's an awful lot of people," Sean said
"I mean when we get there," Bailey said grabbing a hold of Sean's hand "It'll just be you and me"
"...Yeah I just figured you would want to hang with your girls" Sean said as he was looking towards the wall
"You know for someone who asked me out you don't seem too excited to be with me," Bailey said
"Sorry I guess I'm still a little nervous" Sean admitted "I guess for the others it's either going with a friend or getting one to like them in Julian's case but for us, it's a bit... different"
"How so?" Bailey said "Because I know you have a crush on me? That shouldn't change anything because..."
"Because?..."
"I have a crush on you too" Bailey confesses
"You do?!" Sean said surprised
"Yeah, I wasn't too forward about it because I know Kaycee likes you but can't worry about that no more," Bailey said as Sean looked shocked "Oh yeah Kaycee likes you it's kinda cute since you two are dance partners and everything but oh well what can you do?"
"Right..." Sean said
"Hey," Bailey said getting Sean's attention by lifting his chin "It all worked out"
"You could say that," Sean said as Bailey got really close to him "Bailey?"
"Shh," Bailey said as her lips connected with his, it kept going for about a minute before separating "Sorry I had to do that"
"Woah," Sean said still stunned by the kiss
"Not bad?" Bailey said
"...Not at all" Sean said as Bailey leaned in again
Kaycee's house
Devon was comforting his little sister
"I-I know I call myself a weirdo but I didn't think no one would ask me!" Kaycee cried out as the t-shirt her brother was wearing was getting noticeably damp "I even asked 4 guys and they all rejected me!"
"It's their loss little sis it's their loss," Devon said
The doorbell had rung and Kylie, Kaycee's sister went to answer the door and was pleasantly surprised by who she saw
"Josh!" Kylie said
"Hi Kylie I'm here for Kaycee," he said showing the flowers he had
"Come in! Come in she's in her room!" She said as she ran to who knows where
Josh made his way up to Kaycee's room only to see her crying in her brother's chest
Devon saw this and slowly had Kaycee let go of him "I'll be right back sis" Devon said as he left the room
"Hey Visa" Josh said using his nickname for her as Kaycee became aware of his presence and quickly wiped her tears
"Josh why are you here?!" Kaycee asked while surprised he was here
"I want you to be my date!" Josh answered as he sat down next to her
"Really?" Kaycee said
"Really!" Josh said, "But yeah do you want to be my date?" Josh says
"Absolutely!" Kaycee said as she hugged him in her excitement
"Alright I'll tell Willdabeast before it's too late," Josh said getting his phone out to message him "Oh these are for you" as he hands her the flowers he was barely hiding behind his back
"Thank you," Kaycee said taking the flowers from him and admiring them "They're fake"
"...Dammit, Julian" Josh said to himself "Well... This way they won't die on you!"
"Very thoughtful" Kaycee while laughing as she knows he wasn't aware they were fake "Oh so for prom we're wearing blue I already have my dress"
"Blue?" Josh said, "I need to make a call..."
"To call your mom to see if you have a blue suit?" Kaycee said
"Yep!" Josh said as he walked out of the room to make the phone call
Kaycee took that time to get her own phone out and making a call
FaceTime:
"Tahani!"
"Kaycee!" Tahani said then noticing Kaycee's eyes "Have you been crying?"
"Yeah... But it's fine because guess what?!" Kaycee said as Tahani motioned for her to continue "Josh asked me to Prom!"
"Really that's great!" Tahani said genuinely excited until she was reminded of something
"What's up?" Kaycee said noticing her best friends change in facial expression
"It's just... Josh said he would only ask out a girl if he really liked her and that a guy should only ask you out if they really like you" Tahani said "He seemed pretty adamant about that and now..."
"Josh asked me," Kaycee said seeing where Tahani was coming from "Do you think he might..."
"I mean if he was going to just ask a friend he probably would have beat Sean in asking Bailey or even asked me before I asked Kenny," Tahani said
"So, Josh likes me..." Kaycee said as that's where the clues pointed to "Interesting"
"So, what are you going to do? You like Sean!" Tahani said
"I LIKED Sean! But he clearly likes Bailey!" Kaycee said still a little bitter about Sean asking Bailey "So maybe this is just the opportunity I've needed to get over him"
"Alright I have a navy-blue suit and pants does that work?" Josh said coming back in the room off the phone
"I'll talk to you later Tahani," Kaycee said ending the call "And yeah navy blue should be fine my dress is a darker shade of blue as well"
"But I need a new shirt so I need to head to the mall," Josh said "Any color preference? White? Black? Yellow?"
"Let me come!" Kaycee said standing up "I'll help you pick it out"
"You sure?" Josh said "It's just a shirt, not even the full outfit"
"Yeah but you need a woman's opinion and besides we can see it as a pre-date," Kaycee said taking his hand and leading him out of the house "While we're there we can get food and such!"
"Sure... I guess" Josh said confused by Kaycee's actions but decided to go with it "Should be fun"
Julian's Apartment
"Char you look nice"
"No that's no good"
"You look absolutely gorgeous Charlize Glass"
"No too formal"
"Hey you look alright"
"Too mean"
"What are you doing?" Tahani asked as she walked into the apartment to find Julian talking to himself
"Why did I tell you all where the spare key is," Julian said to himself "I'm practicing me arriving at Char's"
"You need to relax it's just a dance," Tahani said
"Yeah but you're so far, the only one that isn't going with someone they have a crush on," Julian said as they both sat on the couch
"Touché but my point still stands, nothing will get better if you try to find the perfect words," Tahani said "Because spoiler alert they don't exist"
"I guess," Julian said as he sat down "Whatcha come over for anyways?"
"Oh, I was bored and had to get out the house," Tahani said as Julian nodded in understanding "Oh and Josh asked Kaycee out"
"I know, I told him to do it," Julian said as he pointed to the empty vase "He left here and took my flowers to give to her"
"Wait so... it was just a friend thing?" Tahani said
"What do you mean?" Julian said
"Well remember what Josh said the other day about only asking someone he likes and only someone that likes Kaycee should ask her," Tahani said
"And you think Josh likes Kaycee since he eventually did those two things," Julian said as he is aware of the Sean issue Josh had but this new information isn't impossible "Maybe..."
"Wait really?! I came over here so you can confirm or deny it" Tahani said
"It doesn't have to be a full-on crush but maybe he could like her a little" Julian said, "It's just..."
"It's just..." Tahani said as Julian tried to think of a way to explain it without exposing Sean's crush on Kaycee
"We had a friend that liked Kaycee so for a while he never considered it," Julian said
"Gabe?" Tahani guessed
"Sure, but now with probably his main obstacle in Sean gone, as I think everyone would have guessed one of them liked each other, maybe he views her as something more since this could be a good test to see if they're compatible," Julian said
"Well I don't know if Sean ever did but Kaycee does like Sean," Tahani said as Julian looked shocked "But she's seeing this as a chance to move on"
"Wow," Julian said
"Oh, yeah let me tell Bailey," Tahani said about to get her phone out
"I'll do it because... there's something I should tell you," Julian said sending the text message
"Yeah? I love secrets especially since you've kept the Charlize one from us" Tahani said
"Sean actually likes Kaycee and him asking Bailey was him being stupid," Julian said
"Well Bailey likes Sean so this is funny," Tahani said as she starts laughing at the situation as Julian started to process that Bailey likes Sean into this scenario "Who would have guessed I would be the one drama-free?"
"I have no drama," Julian said
"How's that practice talking to Charlize going?" Tahani said
"Touché"
Studio
"Oh, Julian just texted me?" Bailey said confused as Julian doesn't usually text her "Oh wow!"
"What's up?" Sean said
"Julian just heard from Tahani who got told by Kaycee that Josh asked her to prom," Bailey said
"Oh! That's good now everyone is going" Sean said as his original idea of having Josh ask Kaycee could still work even when he's this conflicted
"Yeah, and based on what Josh said the other day Tahani and Kaycee assume Josh likes her so Kaycee might be losing that crush on you, isn't that great!" Bailey said as she hugged him "See it all worked out!"
"Yeah... great," Sean said
