The doorbell rang. We all rushed to the door, Mom on our heels. It was a girl around Jude's age, and her mom. Crystal, Jude's girlfriend that he's not dating. I tried to follow them, but Jude immediately stopped me.
"Go away," he said."I wanna show Crystal something."
"Why can't I see?" I whined.
"Because you're too stupid."
"I'm telling Mom!" I yelled.
"Phoenix," Crystal said gently. I ignored her.
"Then I'm telling her that you ate all the jellybeans and blamed Leo," Jude threatened.
"No, don't!" I quickly exclaim.
"Then go away!"
I grunted, then headed up to my room, amd re-read all my soccer magazines. But after a while, I got bored. I decided to see what Jude and Crystal were up to. I ran downstairs, then tiptoed over to the den. I pushed open the door, then gasped.
I couldn't believe it. Jude-who says he doesn't like anyone- was KISSING Crystal.
"Ooh..." I whispered.
The two stopped kissing. Jude looked up and saw me. He suddenly looked angry, so I made a run for it. I raced over to the couch, where Mom was reading.
"Help," I begged.
"What's up?" she asked.
"Jude and Crystal were kissing."
"What?"
Dinner was awkward that night.
