Ch 6
The whole drive to the venue was silent and I couldn't help but notice Ruel staring at me. I don't know what I had done, and on top of that stress, I had to learn a whole set list in 2 days!
Ruel: y/n, here's the lyrics, just listen to Kylie and Jay and don't fuck it up
y/n: yeah thanks
What was wrong with him? He had just fallen asleep on top of me and now he doesn't want to talk to me? Something was wrong.
Jay: what's up with Ruel today?
y/n: don't ask me, hes got no interest in talking at the moment
Kylie: I overheard a conversation with him and Coco, sounds like Nate's basically told him to stay away from you
y/n: what? Why?!
Kylie: no clue. He'll come around, I don't think he can cope without you
That set me off. And after soundcheck, I went to talk to Coco.
y/n: *running after coco* hey C!
Coco: hey lunatic 1
She's called me that ever since Ruel and I jumped off the roof into the pool last summer.
y/n: um what's up with Ruel today, he doesn't want to talk to me?
Coco: ok well Nate doesn't particularly like you and Ruel had a massive dig at him earlier
y/n: yeah, yeah I heard it all
Coco: did you hear Ruel confess to Nate?
y/n: confess what?!
Coco: I've said to much already, I have to go
y/n: Coco! Please tell me.
she sighed and turned back to me
Coco: don't ask me. Ask him
She pointed behind me. I turned around and saw Ruel standing there
y/n: can you please explain what Coco is talking about?
Coco: that's my cue to leave, have fun!
I was scared for some reason. So scared I was shaking. I could see that Ruel was scared too. He was looking down at the ground and playing with his hair.
y/n: Ruel! What's wrong with you today, why don't you want to talk to me anymore? Did I do something wrong, you need to tal-
Ruel: you didn't do anything alright!
He never yells at me, that's how I knew he was serious.
y/n: then what's wrong? Your scaring me
Ruel: I'm in love with you! I have been for the past 7 years! And I couldn't tell you because I'm scared to lose you!
hearing him say that made me feel sick. Then, all I saw was black
