After getting home i went straight to dads office to inform him of the witch at school, i didn't even know her name. i knocked a few times and waited for him to call me in. stepping inside he was sitting with his beta Marcus.
" Hey troublemaker, what brings you here, shouldn't you be in training?" my dad looked up from his laptop as i flopped in the chair across his desk. swinging my legs over the arm of the chair, my father gave a chuckle as i laid back hanging upside down now. "Daddy, there's a witch at school, she smelled like earth i think shes from Shadows Pack, made me dizzy when i realized who she was too" tilting my head to gauge his reaction he and Marcus both mirrored the distasteful scrunch of the eyebrows look.
" how long have you known she was there?", he managed to speak startlingly. still dangling my feet from the chair i sat up to speak " Im not sure dad, i just noticed her today when i ran into an open locker, i stumbled back into her and scattered her drawings through the hallway so i helped pick them up. ive been having trouble since my birthday using my senses. its like i have to call for Sadie to help me. they have been dulled but then its like they kick in and Wham i loose control" slamming my hand against his desk caused a started growl from both of them.
I smiled sheepishly " alright well i will have it looked into tomorrow in the mean time i wanted to inform you that over the Christmas holiday we will be spending a few days in the Shadow Pack ."
Making my way toward the pack training i felt jittery and even a few butterflies. i knew the shadow pack castle was on the beach and the thought of seeing the Deveroux brothers soaking wet and shirtless had our mouth watering. Ha no pun intended, instead of our usual white Christmas we get a seaside one!
"Sarah!" Millie came running towards me with Vicky in tow. "We are getting to spar today in wolf form!" want to be on our team?" she jumped up and down squealing. " Your team?" since when do we spar in teams?" "Since we need to learn how to defend our pack in case of attack, nice of you to finally join us princess" Bruce's deep voice hit me causing an unwarranted shiver to go down my body.
His eyes gleamed playfully as i retorted " yes your welcome, i had important princessly things to do, but i've freed my schedule to show you how its done, properly that is" i laughed nervously as i lost my train of thought and rambled. Millie and Vicky giggled at me and i shot them a glare " Great since your so proper lets have you start the line up then and pick a side."
He turned toward the rest of the group shouting " Shirts versus skins in human form then we will have ribbons for shirts in wolf form."
Lining up along the specified lines, i was across from Max " Just because your my doll don't mean i'll take it easy on you " Max winked at me as we spread our feet and got down hands on the ground in a tackling defense. " well see about that pretty face of yours Maxie pooh when your tasting dirt" i retorted, he scoffed at me and showed his teeth " that suppose to scare me?"
" oh its not to scare you its a promise" i winked when Bruce called out " alright shirts off skins" i decided to give him a little show while staring at Bruce, i Slowly pulled at my shirt while i did a little shimmy shake for extra drama, wolf whistles rang out after the girls all got there shirts off leaving only sports bras for coverage. i looked to Bruce whose mouth was in a sharp smirk, eyes blacking with lust, i smirked myself turning back to Max.
His eyes were already black and shining and his jaw was clenched with fits balled tightly. i smirked at him putting my hands on my hips and cocking my leg out " aw whats wrong doll face, cant concentrate now?" he shook his head and groaned out " Ill be fine, just at soon as i tackle that fine ass to the ground and cover your mouth with mine" it was his turn to smirk as my mouth fell open.
I cant believe he just one uped me, ' EITHER WAY IM HAPPY TO HAVE HIM, BUT DON'T WORRY WE WILL SHOW THIS BETA WHOSE HIS ALPHA' oh Sadie i do love that your my wolf. She nodded in my head as i turned back to get down and ready, smiling to myself, Sadie pushed her strength through our bond and awaited the signal.
"The rules are as follows wolves, you are matched up based off your skill set, from your strength to agility. The first to pin his or her opponent to the ground for a length of 6 seconds will be awarded the winner. winner of both shall receive 2 days rest from pack training and duties, loser will assume the winners duties along with there own. If there is a tie, sudden death shall be evoked and you will fight til a knockout or willing submission. Wolf form shall apply the same rules, any unsportsmanlike conduct will result in Alpha King notification and further punishment. Do i make myself clear wolves?" Bruce was pacing in the middle of our rows reciting the rules when he stopped in front of Max to finish his speech he gave him a menacing glare that could have been interpreted as a warning on my part.
"Clear, Head Warrior" we all recited as multiple others danced back and forth on there legs warming up, some cracked there knuckles and necks, while Max and i just stared at one another. We where split into 6 teams with 6 wolves in each team so that it was easier for Bruce to referee. Millie and Vicky where on Team 1, so Max and i watched as they battled there opponent winning both matches. We "Whoop Whooped" them as we high five each other. Watching the others made me proud, we have very many strong wolves in our Realm, although none made it to a sudden death.
When it finally became our teams turn i shook out my shoulders to loosen my body and pulled my hair into a tight high ponytail. Leaning in as the whistle blew we started to circle one another, i punched out to his right, only for him to dodge me and counter. i dodged his advances as he did mine.
" We are fighting ladies not dancing, so Fight" Bruce scolded us. I ran towards him and delivered a swift roundhouse when he caught my leg making me fall back onto the ground were he pinned me with my leg under his and his forearm pinning my neck. i growled at him realizing i indeed lost this round. he leaned in and brushed a kiss to my lips, i reacted by throwing him off with my knee to his stomach.
He growled at me and stood back up shifting into wolf form i followed his actions. before i had the chance to react he was pouncing toward me, i swiftly slid beneath his form and spun around to face him headbutting him in the face. He stepped back shaking his head so i took my chance to lounge at his throat pinning him to the ground. i growled for his submission and he countered swiping at my belly i jumped back but pulled his neck along with me causing him to whimper.
" Princess, you win this round, But this will be a sudden death round now since you both have won." Bruce put his arm around me and whispered in Sadie's Ear " I'm so proud of you, you'll make a feisty queen." i nodded. Stepping away from my wolf he went to Griffin also whispering in his ear, causing a small snarl to erupt from him. Standing back up he turned to address the rest of the teams " Wolves sudden death between your Future Beta and Future Queen will begin in a few moments." Bruce pointed to the sideline and i noticed my parents standing there along with Beta Evans and the Deveroux Brothers.
' OOO AN AUDIENCE, LETS SHOW THEM WHAT A PRIZE TO WIN WE ARE' Agreed Sadie, i nodded to the audience as Sadie has called them and Griffin and Sadie squared off again, both growling at each other. We began to circle just like before, i mindlinked him " Hey Max you ready to give them a show"
"Hell yeah doll, what do i get when i win?" i laughed in my head at him always so confident even though i just kicked his ass. " Hmm how about when i win you do all my homework for the next week until school lets out for Christmas break and be at my beck and call. That means anything i want or need?"
He snorted and shook his head " okay, If i win however i want you to do all my homework naked while i get to watch you and can touch anywhere i want" i pushed a thought to him of me in that positions and took my chance when i noticed his brief pause and lounged at his shoulder, causing him to lose his footing. I immediately snapped at his neck and he dodged slashing my shoulder with his claws, blood trickled down my shoulder as i winced at the spot, we lounged and countered clawing at one another a few more times before i looked around to see the group shaking there heads.
'SARAH WE HAVE TO WIN THIS, ITS DRAGGING OUT TO LONG, WE ARE ALPHA NOT MAX AND GRIFFIN' Sadie growled at me 'your right', i limped and gave a short whine as my shoulder gave out i laid down mocking hurt, when Griffin ran over to me liking me i took the shot to grab his throat latching on his startled figure went stiff as i tightened my grip on him. He lowered his body and submitted to me.
The crowd burst into cheers as many people came over to congratulate me, a blanket was brought over and draped across me to shift back to human. Max was handed shorts as he quickly shifted too. He shook his head as he came over wrapping me in a hug as well " You little Vixen, i cant believe you played my emotions like that" i laughed and swatted his shoulder " Well someone had to take your ego down a notch, you almost couldn't fit though the door with your head the size of the moon!" he snorted and shoved me back.
Millie and Vicky shoved there way threw the crowd and crushed me between them in a group hug. " whose your Alpha now" i growled to them as we all laughed.
After everyone dispersed and went to clean up for our celebratory dinner Bruce had pulled me behind the house. Pushing me against the wall he crashed his lips into mine, eliciting a moan from me as i tightened my arms around him pulling him closer.
We broke away breathless when he rested his head against mine, " your a ruthless fighter Sarah, you will make the perfect queen" i nodded still trying to catch my breath. " i must go but i had to tell you, im so proud of you, your everything to me and i will win you." i kissed him again before he swiftly pulled away to rush off into the pack house. i smiled as i followed behind him touching my lips as i walked to my room to shower and get ready for dinner. Pulling on a slender navy silk gown after blow drying my hair i let it fall around my shoulders loosely, the natural wave giving me volume and bounce. i pared it with silver strapped heels and made my way downstairs and through the house out to the dinner.
Stepping into the clearing the chatter was still going strong as i went to my seat at the left side of the table. I sat across from Sophia. She was next to Millie and her parents as i was next to Max then Bruce then a few others surrounding the large dinning table. my mindlink filtered through " You are absolutely stunning princess" I looked to Bruce who smiled brightly in his white dress shirt and black slacks. His shirt was fitted showing the beautiful form of his shoulders and pecks.
'IT WOULD LOOK EVEN BETTER OFF WITH OUR TONGUES ACROSS IT' yes, yes it would.
Max leaned in as i took my seat, he nipped my earlobe, a soft gasp leaving my lips "what is it my doll is wanting now? since i am her new beck and call wolf" a shiver went up my spine as his hand traveled down my arm.
"Max, you would do well to keep your hands to yourself until my daughter is claimed, else you may not have them if this continues" My father's growl was low and threatening, the whole table sat up straighter and even i flinched at his tone. Max imminently bowed his head " I apologize Alpha King, it will not happen again" his voice then filtered through my mind " at least not where he can see" i bit my tongue so hard it bled to keep my giggle to myself.
Thankfully our food began being served so i could hide the blood seeping through and keeping myself quiet. I chatted with Sophie about her school and if she was excited about Christmas. when dessert came out my father stood up tapping his champagne glass, " Fellow wolves it is my pleasure to congratulate all of the winners of today's preparation training!" claps rounded the table and everyone smiled brightly.
" I am very proud to have such a dedicated pack and i also want to congratulate my daughter and beta for a Hell of a fight." we laughed as my father continued "In continuance of my daughters coming of age ceremony, we will be starting our tours of the realms. My daughter has received multiple proposals for her hand and after careful deliberation we have deceived that we will hold an Alpha Games ceremony. Anyone who wishes to claim her will have the chance to compete for her hand." gasps of shock followed throughout the clearing as he spoke.
" We will tour the Shadow Wolves pack, Dessert Wolves pack and Mountain Wolves over Christmas and New Years break, so i expect everything to run the same as if we where here. We are leaving the beta family in charge and will only take a few guards with us to the realms, the chosen will be notified the day we leave an hour ahead of time. Thank you all and enjoy your evening". Clapping and chatter began again after my father sat down, he and my mother talking with the beta family while i only stared at my food pushing at it occasionally.
"Sarah are you okay?" Sophie's sweet voice echoed through my mind as she gave me a tentative smile from across the table. " yep Soph ill be fine" "Well you look really pretty, just like all the princess i read about and watch on TV. I just wanted to tell you that i hope your mate that wins is your prince charming" I looked down and squeezed my eyes shut to hide control my tears from falling. Soon dinner ended and i rushed my goodbyes to retire to my room. After cleaning the makeup from my face and changing to my t shirt and panties i crawled into my bay window to try and sooth my racing mind. Looking out at the moon sparkling over the frozen lake and the blankets of snow giving the perfect view of a winter paradise.
"i see the moon, and the moon sees me, the moon sees the one i want to see" i sang my old nursery rhyme, "moon if your listening, i just want to ask that you protect my loved ones. i know you see all and give us mates, im so lost i dont know how to feel about the two men im torn between. I dont want to loose either of them, but if what Sadie says is true i can only wish for there protection."
Kissing my two fingers and pressing them to the window i made my way over to the bed to try and sleep. However sleep did not come easy as i couldnt slow my thoughts enough to give my brain rest. i really do hope the moon heard my prayer and will give me peace. Finally sleep took over, the cold chill easing my body under the warm blankets.
