Until the cattle comes home

Next afternoon I helped with silvers daily training and then relaxed on my bed. I stared up at the ceiling and thought about my life.
When I heard my mother crying.
I jumped up and walked to the dining room where momma was sitting in 1 chair and daddy was sitting in the other rambling on about how she's useless and she never does things for him.
It makes me so mad that I just want to slap him hard across his face.
I tried to stay unnoticed so no fighting would happen but I accidentally stepped on the wrong spot, it made a loud creak, and he snapped right around at me.
"what are you doin' in here?" He asked standing up on the other side of the chair.
"Stop saying that stuff about momma!"
"You can't tell me what to do!
I'm your father so stop that!"
"STOP SAYING THAT TO MOMMA!" I raised my voice stepping closer.
I couldn't just stand here and let my momma be treated this way. It's time to stand up for her.
Daddy looked at me even more evilly than Tina did earlier. Then he slammed the chair down making now nothing in the way between me and him.
He grabbed the top of my shirt and lifted me up to his face so close.
Then he dropped me hard and kicked me on my hind leg.
I didn't look up at just laid there for a minute.
"WEAK." He said with his voice lowered.
No. I am not weak. And I can't just lay here and let momma get hurt.
I cared about her way way more than myself. So I stood up and looked him in the eye until he did the same toward me.
"Your weak." I said lowly too.
"Get out. GET OUT!!!!!!!!!!!" He screamed the second time.
"ADMIT IT DADDY, YOUR WEAK!"
"GET OUT!
"NO. IF ANYONES GETTING OUT ITS YOU!"
Daddy ran to the kitchen and slammed down just about everything in it while screaming.
"GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!!!!!"
I couldn't take this.
I ran to my room and put my face in my pillow and sobbed.
When is this going to end?
When? Just...when?
I heard footsteps coming closer and closer until someone grabbed my shirt and pried me off the pillow.
Daddy slapped my face, punched and kicked my legs and arms, and slapped me a couple more times.
And I really don't remember anything that happened afterwards.
