As I walk towards the car with Matt and my dad talking in front of me, I look behind and look at the big house. Stupid house. It's all your fault.
As we are about to make it to the car I start walking faster to catch up with my dad and...Matt. Matt puts his hand on the door handle and opens it. Pfft. As if. No way. I smile, he actually thinks he is going to sit in the passenger side? Matt is just about to jump inside the passenger seat door but I run in front of him and hop in and close the door. I buckle up and look out of the window to see him looking dumbfounded. Idiot. I smile at him and point to the backseat.
When we make it home I take a big breath in and out. Finally home. I run up the front steps and open the door. Matt and dad follow behind me. I sit down at the table and look at them. We stay in silence for awhile until Matt clears his throat. He looks towards my dad and starts to speak.
"I would like Nicole to come home with me." My dad is silent for a moment and then he faces me.
"Nicole...I think you should go I mean-"
I stand up from my seat.
"NO! IM NOT GOING!"
I hear fast footsteps coming from upstairs I look at the stairs to see Adam there.
"What's going on?"
"Nicole...," my dad days ignoring Adam
"Listen to me. I understand you don't want to go, but if you stay for 1 week....1 week and then decide if you want to stay or not."
I look over at Matt and see his facial expression is a bit sad but happy at the same time. .....maybe 1 week won't hurt then I can say that I still don't want to live there. I smile and look up at my dad.
"Okay."
My dad looked pleased and so did Matt. I walked over to the stairs to pack my stuff and saw that Adam was still there. I grab his arm as I walk up the stairs. More explaining to do.
