A Few Weeks Later
I picked up Sophia from daycare, and we left.
"Sophie were gonna go out to see Layla and Malia, okay?" I said as I pulled out of the parking lot.
"Okay mommy." She said.
We were off to a restaurant that was mine and Malia's favorite.
Malia is my best friend, and she's been my best friend since we were small, we're extremely close and to our coincidence, we both were teen moms but she got pregnant 3 months before I did. We stayed but each others side and raised our babies together, she had a daughter, Layla, until we both got jobs and became super busy but we still hang out a lot. Malia's parents and my parents are extremely close as well.
We got to the restaurant and went inside. The waiter guided us to the table where Malia and Layla were already, sitting at an outside table.
"Hey guys!" She said as she stood up and gave me a huge.
"Hello gorgeous." I said as I sat down next to her and let Layla and Sophia sit next to eachother.
"God I feel like I haven't seen you in forever." She said.
"I know! How have you and Layla girl been?" I said, smiling at Layla.
"Good, Layla started preschool." She said with a smirk.
"Already? I thought they can't start until they're 4?" I asked.
"No, they can start at 3 and do another year at 4, and that's what she does." She said.
"Really? I wanted Sophie in it too but now she's in daycare." I said.
"Layla goes in the morning like normal school, it's so cute too." She said with a chuckle.
"How long is she there for?" I asked.
"Just 3 and a half hours, from 9 to 12:30, so it gives me my time in the morning when I'm not at work or I can go to work without worries when she's there." She said.
"Yeah, Soph goes to daycare from 3-5 while I'm at school." I said.
"Oh yeah you start school again! I seriously hope that we can work together." She said.
"Don't we have to go talk to them together when I graduate?" I asked and she nodded.
"Yeah, but I'm pretty sure we will get it because who wants that job?" She said and I laughed. "Oh yeah! I wanted to tell you some good news!" She said excitedly. Sophia started making super loud noises with her plate and I looked at her.
"Sophia stop it." I said.
"Mommy, mommy!" She said.
"What?"
"I love you." She said cutely and I chuckled.
"Love you to baby." I said and her and Lacey giggled.
"So cute. Okay, okay, so I'm pretty sure I'm the best matchmaker in the universe." She said and I rolled my eyes.
"You're insane! There's no way I'm looking for a boyfriend or anything right now, nope." I said with a chuckle.
"Why not Kris?!" She said.
"Because I like it with just me and Soph right now, like its nice with just her and I." I said.
"I know but you haven't had a nice boyfriend since you were like 14!" She said.
"So, Sophia doesn't need a dad, she has my dad." I said.
"You're letting Jason ruin your life Kris, really, you need to date again, you'd be ten times happier with a guy and especially this guy." She said with a smirk.
"Who is it Mali." I said, rolling my eyes.
"Andrew Valenzuela." She said with a smirk and I almost choked on my food.
"The famous football player?! Are you crazy?!" I said.
"Yes him! He's a god damn god Kris, holy crap. He broke up with his girlfriend a year ago, he's 22, he's hot as hell, famous, richer than rich, and he thinks you're a beauty." She said with a smirk and I looked at her.
"What do you mean? He's seen me?" I asked.
"I showed him a picture one day when he came over, told him about you and he said he'd be interested in meeting you." She said with a smirk.
"Okay, I haven't had a guy in my life for over three years, almost 4, I have a daughter, and I'm in school to become a nurse, did you mention that?" I said.
"Of course! He said he wants to settle down with a family, he can't find a girlfriend because all the girls that try are just hoes, and he thinks you're just so gorgeous, he really wants to meet you Kris." She said and I sighed. "C'mon just give it a shot. Just a date, just try it. If you don't like him, it's completely fine, but let me tell you, he's a great, respectful guy. He's Kyle's best friend, I've known him ever since I've met Kyle at freaking 16."
"Okay but I'm only doing this for you." I said and she smiled and clapped.
"Yaay! I'll definitely get a date for you guys set up! When are you available?"
"Anytime on Wednesdays and the weekends, not from 2-7 on other days." I said and she nodded.
"Got it. I can watch Sophia for you." She said and I looked at Sophia.
"Alright then." I said and she smirked.
