Mérante and Odette

Chapter 5

Odette had the courage to get up everyday to go to clean the Opera. Mérante would always watch her without her knowing. It had been a few weeks since Félicie was gone and Odette still hadn't got over it. One day Mérante was watching Odette clean the stage when he heard Félicie. Was he imagining, no behind Odette stood a young girl with red hair. Mérante smiled in joy, the moment when he saw Odette hug Félicie was a moment worth dying for. Her face lit up like a lamp. Odette from then on was her old cheery self. She had tried to build up the wall between her and Mérante but he did not let that happen. One day while she was cleaning the stage, she was gracefully sweeping, he crept up behind her and grabbed her waist. He pushed her into a pirouette. It was the most beautiful and graceful one too but she her leg could support her weight for too long and she fell backwards. Mérante luckily caught her but when he looked at her he saw Odette blushing hard, her cheeks were fully red and her eyes were the same calm ocean blue eyes.
