It was 15 days after Raven's little bomb show. Everyone had settled. No one really talked about that again. But Raven still got a few giggles out of reminding the boys occasionally.
The yacht was running out of food. It was the Trio's food that had them going for so long. They needed more food and to do that, they had to stop at a nearby city.
It was about 2 hours to noon when they did. They didn't really plan when they were going to, Strand just decided he wanted to stop there. Raven was the first to acknowledge the stop and shouted, "The Ground!!"
Elyza's and Lincoln's head whipped at the sound and they came running towards the front of the yacht from the quarters section.
Elyza and Lincoln had a smile on their face that couldn't be matched by anyone else's of the family. Maybe Raven's giddiness could challenge it..
"Alright. So we'll go and scavenge. You kids stay here and-" Madison started to speak approaching but Raven interrupted her,
"Woah woah woah. Imma stop you right there Mama Clark. I am not. A kid. I'm very much an adult and that gives me the freedom to say that me and Elyza will go out and grab stuff for all of us. We have more experience than you anyways" Raven said with complete seriousness.
"Look Raven you don't need to do this. Me, Travis and Strand can go out. You don't have to risk your life when you can avoid it" Madison tried to reason.
"Most of our lives have been spent in the danger of losing our lives Madison. This will be just another stroll in the park" Elyza replied instead of Raven defending her point and also referring to their past lives.
Madison didn't have an answer for that. She didn't know how can they speak about it like it doesn't matter anymore.. Before the train of her thoughts could run more, Raven and Elyza had already gathered their bags and were ready to move out.
"Linc you ain't coming??" Raven asked after she saw Lincoln hadn't made a move to pack his bag.
"I'll stay and look around for some useful plants and stuff around. You two go on" he said with a smile.
"You three" Alicia piped up from behind and corrected with a bag already slung over her shoulders.
"Oh no. Alicia you are not going anywhere. You are staying right here on this yacht where you'll be safe" Madison said in a tone that left no room for argument. But of course. Alicia already had one,
"No I'm not. I'm tired of you treating me like a kid! I'm not 10 anymore! I'm 18 and also an adult. I can make my own decisions" Alicia said angrily moving towards the duo.
"Alicia you can't go and-" Madison started but again Raven interrupted,
"Look Mama Clark. If she wants to go, she can. You can't stop her. She is an adult. And don't worry. We'll protect her if the need arrives" Raven said calmly and also impatiently waiting to get off this damn yacht already.
"Yeah. We'll protect her" Nick piped up from behind also with a bag.
"Nick no. You can't-" Madison tried to speak again but got interrupted by Nick,
"Look mom. I'm not letting Alicia go alone. I already did once and look what happened. I'll be back by dusk" Nick finished.
"Alright! Can we go now?!" Raven said getting more impatient by the second.
When she didn't see anymore arguements coming, she jumped off the deck with others behind and shouted, "WE'RE BACK BITCHES!!"
Elyza and Lincoln just smiled getting the reference and others just shook their heads in amusement.
"So. Where to?" Nick asked.
"Oh I forgot you were here", she sighed and muttered, "A junkie, A memory forgotten commander, the commander of death and a genius.. Oh this is gonna be interesting" under her breath and started walking.
Others didn't even hear what she said and the one who did, Elyza, punched Raven on the shoulder.
"Ow fuck! Alright I deserved that one" Raven said rubbing the spot Elyza punched.
Elyza just shook her head amusingly and walked beside Raven looking for places to scavenge from. Others doing the same with a question mark on their face from the previous conversation.

After a hour of searching through small shops and finding things like, a few medicines, some food, etc, they came upon a mall.
"Holy shit" Raven gasped and beamed at the same time.
Everyone looked towards Raven's line of sight and saw the mall. They were happy. Atleast they'll find something better here.
Raven approached the chained door and carefully opened them so she can use them later again if the need arrives and led them inside the too quiet to be safe mall and splited up.
She assigned Alicia and Nick to go through any groceries on the ground floor and bag it up while she and Elyza checked up.
Elyza was just wandering around looking at batteries and books when she heard Raven's shout which she was sure the others below heard too, "Holy joken skrish!!"
"Woah Raven. What are those colorful words for?" Elyza asked with an amused expression.
"CLOTHES! Fucking clothes!!" Raven said giddy like a child.
"Okay... Why are you so happy about that?"
"Are you fucking kidding me?! When was the last time you found clean clothes?! Oh wait. There wasn't one!" Raven said proud of her find.
"Alright Alright! Chil au. Go check around the counter. There'll be more there" Elyza said giving in to Raven's excitement.
Raven did as she was told. Which was very rare. But Elyza was glad she did. But after about 10 minutes, she heard a crash. She rushed towards the sound to see 2 walkers on top of Raven who can't do anything but struggle. Without a second thought, she rammed into those walkers effectively prying them of Raven and attracting them to herself.
And maybe it was that she was nervous or just realized she didn't have her knife on her, she tripped on her own feet and fell on her back. What would Anya say.. Oh she knows exactly what she would say. And those words wouldn't be pleasant.
Walkers were bending down to take a bite out of her. But she held them away from her face as long as she could looking around for any weapon. Anything stabbable but there wasn't anything. She was losing her power but then of course, the walkers went silent one by one and she was offered a hand.
Raven was standing on top of her with her knife in her hand with a worried but an angry look.
She gladly took the hand and hoisted herself up.
Crash
"What was that..." Elyza asked looking around worriedly.
"I don't care. Right now, you are going to listen to me" Raven said with a determined look.
"But Raven-" Elyza tried to say.
"That was far enough. I'll be done by the time they reach. So now, what the hell is wrong with you!?" Raven started.
"What?"
"Seriously? Stop stalling! You know what!" she replied in an irritated tone.
"Can we not do this right now?"
"Oh. We are absolutely-", Raven started but saw something behind Elyza. "-not doing this right now!!" she said with a shocked expression, widened eyes and frozen in place.
"What? Are you okay Rae..?" Elyza asked confused.
"Holy... Running.... Fuckers... Run!!!" were the only parts of sentences that came out. But thanks to her wildly gesturing with both hands behind Elyza, Elyza turned around and froze on the spot too.
Because there she saw around 20-25 walkers. Running. Towards them... Yes. Running!
"OH MY GOD! RAVEN RUN!!" she yelled pulling Raven with her.
They both quickly grabbed their bags which had been tossed away and they ran downstairs with Raven shouting without stopping,
"Running fuckers! Run!!"
Fortunately Nick and Alicia saw the running herd before they heard them and ran out the door for their life with a bewildered expression.
Raven quickly chained the door up again effectively blocking the running herd in and they all breathed a sigh of relief.
"Where the fuck did those come from?! And what were those!!" Nick said clutching his heart from the frantic running and panic.
And maybe because of the frantic running, he might've missed the icy glare Raven was giving Elyza.
Elyza sighed visibly as if to say, 'we almost just died and she still wants to lecture me'
But the next thing Nick knew, he was dragged away near the road by Alicia telling him something like, 'You do not want to get stuck in between whatever's about to happen'
And she was true. As soon as they almost reached the road, they heard Raven say angrily, "So. Now do you want to tell me what the hell was that back there?!"
"You were in trouble! I had to do something to save your life!" Elyza argued knowing she can't not have this conversation with Raven.
"By putting yours on the line?! Are you insane?! What if you were bitten huh?? What if the cost of my life was yours because you are a branwoda and forgot to bring your weapon?!" Raven fumed.
"I saved your life. That's all I intended to do. Doesn't matter the cost" Elyza replied calmer than before.
"Why... " Raven asked softer than before and not getting why was Elyza somewhat ready to die..
"Do you remember what I told you in the drop ship? That I'd pick you first? Your life comes first too" Elyza replied with small sad smile because she failed Raven in the other world. She can't do that here too.
"You.... Fool. You utter and complete fool. You have to stop sacrificing yourself Princess. Come here" Raven said with tears slowly streaming down her face, her anger long forgotten and pulled Elyza into a hug.
They held each for quite a while and Raven murmured, "I'll blow you up if you do something like that again. Got it Griff?" Elyza just chuckled and held Raven tighter and Raven returned the gesture gladly.
"They're a cute couple aren't they?" Nick said to Alicia where they both still stood watching the duo from when they went from a shouting mess to soft murmurs they couldn't hear.
"They aren't a couple" Alicia said in a clipped tone through gritted teeth. She didn't know why but she felt this pang of something in her stomach when she saw Raven holding Elyza.... Jealousy? But why would she feel that.. She doesn't even know her...!
"OoOo someone's got a crush!" Nick teased.
"Shut up Nick. Or I will punch you so hard you won't be able to talk for a month!" Alicia said sending a deathly ice glare towards Nick.
And he didn't know what it was but his eyes widened in surprise because for just a moment, when he looked in her eyes, they weren't the bright green eyes of his baby sister.. Oh no. They were this much darker forest green burning with a fire wanting to be free..
He doesn't know if he imagined it or not because he was still in withdrawal so he decided it was best if he just shut his mouth, "Alright Alright! Chill Licia! I'm not saying anything!" and said to mask his confusion and shock.
And it looked like it worked because Alicia huffed out a breath and turned forward looking at a approaching Elyza and Raven nowhere to be found.
Elyza had puffy eyes but she was composed and had a small smile on her face. Elyza came up to them and answered the unanswered question,
"Raven went to go find us a ride. She says she saw a pretty good one a few blocks off so she'll be back soon. Don't ask me why. She said she'll explain once she's back"
And as true to her word, Raven came back with a decent looking 4 seater and stopped in front of the group revving the engine and urging them to get in. They did.
Elyza climbed onto the passenger seat and the siblings on the back seat. A little couped but other than that, fine. As Raven looked through the rear view mirror at the siblings, she had this giddiness and this excitement in her eyes. Which in Raven's case, almost always meant trouble.
Elyza sighed already accepting whatever she was about to say but the siblings waited and Raven finally spoke breaking the silence, revving the engine with a wicked grin,
"Buckle up People!! We are going for a detour!"
