--Veronica's POV--
"Hello?" I called out as I walked into the old fashioned diner. It was empty, but an older man with a white beard, and a paper hat walked up to me.
"Why, hello." The man greeted, throwing a rag over his left shoulder. "Don't believe I've seen you around," his hand stretched out.
"That's because I'm on a short visit," I smiled and took his hand. "I'm from New York," I gave it a firm shake which earned me a chuckle from the man.
"Oh, firm grip," his voice hinting that he was impressed, "I'm Pop, I own this place, here," he opened his arms, proudly showing off his estate. "Welcome," he smiled.
"Why thank you, Pop," I curtsied. "I'm supposed to tell you Betty said code pink," I informed.
"Ah, you're Veronica," Pop grinned.
"Yes," I furrowed my eyebrow. I became concerned with how he knew my name.
He must have picked up on it because the next thing he said was, "Betty's given my quite the earful about you."
"She has," I smiled brightly.
"Yes, now head into the bathroom, and wash your hands dear," Pop motioned to a door with the white doll in a dress stamped on. I smiled and excused myself. I stepped into the bathroom, and walked directly to one of the few stalls. I sat down to pee, and when I reached to grab toilet paper I saw that I got a text from Betty.

I quickly finished my business, and got up from the toilet. At the sink I saw that there was a soap dispenser as well as cute little soap bars. I thought the soap bars were too cute, so I opted for the dispensor. I stood straight, observing my reflection in the mirror. I adjusted whatever needed to be adjusted, like may hair's sticking out, ironed out my shirt with my hands, and readjusted my denim jacket. I smiled at the mirror, and walked out of the bathroom.
A slow song played softly in the background, and only one table had food on it, with a candle standing high right at the center. Betty was standing with a rose in her hand, and I smiled wider each step I took closer to her. "This place is ours for the next few hours," Betty informed me as she handed me the rose.
"When you told me that maybe you'd like to be the one to steal my heart, I thought you only said it to tease me," I confessed.
"Nope, I intend to steal your heart," Betty smiled as she allowed me to walk ahead of her. I really enjoyed her confidence, it was thrilling watching her exude so much of it, sexy even.
"We're matching," I pointed out, holding my denim jacket, and looking at hers. I had taken my seat and my eyes were on Betty.
"Guess you could say we were thinking of eachother this morning," Betty winked as she sat down in the booth.
"And the afternoons, the evenings, all hours of the day," I flirted shamelessly. This earned me laughter on her behalf. I could listen to it all day.

--Betty's POV--
"Why are we at my cousin's house," I asked. After eating, Veronica and I got into an uber. She didn't tell me where she was taking me, but I never thought it would be Cheryl's house.
"She let me use it for the evening," Veronica smiled cheekily, "more specifically her backyard," she clarified, and then opened the car door. "Thank you," she said to the driver before exiting.
"Oh- thank you- and how are we getting in," I asked realizing she doesn't have the keys.
"With these," Veronica dangled the keys in her hand as she walked backwards. I gawked at her. "Cheryl stopped by my hotel this morning to pick me up, and we did all of this together," she shrugged casually. She turned back around and finished her walk up to the front door.
"Of course she did," I laughed, jogging up to the front door.
"Welcome to my humble home," Veronica joked as she swung the door open. "Lead the way to the backyard," she bursted out laughing.
"You're a dork," I laughed along. I stepped inside, and guided us out to the backyard. I was amazed at what I saw next. There was a beautiful set up to watch movies under the stars; cushions long enough to act as beds, a big screen and a projector, a bowl of popcorn. Suddenly I hear the beautiful strumming of an acoustic guitar. I turn around to see Veronica playing a melody I've never heard before.

While I didn't recognize the melody, those words I knew I've read before.
"Buckets of water, millions of clouds

oh I wish, it wasn't so far..."
Veronica finished singing, beautifully might I add. "I can't believe this," I cupped my hands over my mouth.
"I heard this song a few days before accidentally meeting you, and I've been listening to it non stop, and after a few days of talking to you, it hit me, this has to be our song," Veronica smiled shyly. It was the first time I had seen her so soft, usually she was so bold, and confident, but right now she was... cute, breathtakingly cute.
