RECAP:
I see a pile of burning dead bodies on the left and there are more prisoners chained and bloodied kneeling to the right.
Almost as if sensing me he turns around.
He looks absolutely feral.
'And delicious' Accalia says
'Get it together you horny wolf!' I scold her 'This is not the time'
His eyes are golden, with a red ring around them
'Red ring?' Accalia asks
'No clue' I say
"Alexandria" he says in a dark voice walking right up to me and he grabs my face in both his hands "They're going to pay. I promise you my love."
"Every single one of them. They're all going to pay"

I was sitting in room scrolling through my Instagram feed when suddenly my door burst open and Jason walks in
"Hey what's up?" I ask but he doesn't respond.
Instead he just walks up to me and slings me over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes.
"Ahhh!" I screech "Dude what the hell?!" But he just remains quiet and walks out of my room,down the stairs and out the door
"Jason Declan Oliver tell me what the hell is going on before I-" I'm cut off by him suddenly throwing me through the air and into the pool
I resurface and see all my friends standing there looking at me
Alexis, Sydney, Jason, Tirique, Claire, Maddelena, Asher and even Adam all stand there looking at me as though I've killed all of their puppies
I would never kill puppies. People sure, without a doubt in cold blood, but never puppies
I swim to the edge of the pool and walk and stand right in front of Jason. I bend down to fix my socks and I whip my hair up to stand up making water spray onto him
"What the hell Maddie?!" He yells
"You're damn right 'what the hell'" I yell back "Why the fudge did you toss me into the pool?! What's your problem?"
Alexis steps forward and crosses her arms
"I'll answer that" she says looking at me seriously "So we're not good enough for you anymore huh? Is that it?"
"What?" I ask genuinely confused
"So the only person you want to see now is Xavier huh? When he's not around you lock yourself in the room?" Lexi accuses
"OK first of all, stop being dramatic" I say rolling my eyes and putting hand up in a 'stop' motion "Second of all I haven't seen Xavier since that episode he had with the prisoners two days ago and third you guys all have mates too and you guys have all been with your mates too!"
"Yeah, but like, we need our best friend too!" Jason says
"We miss you Maddie" Tirique says pouting
"Oh and Alpha is gone." Adam sudden pipes up "He left about two days ago, after he had the prisoner execution"
"By the way, how many prisoners did he kill?" I ask
"Er... 123" Asher says looking thoughtful
Sydney's jaw drops
"Was that all of them?" She asks
"No that was only about a quarter of them" He responds
"Why do you guys have that many prisoners?!" She asks incredulously
"Do you realize which pack you're in?" Asher asks his mate looking at her like she's stupid "Besides, Alpha keeps them for when he loses his temper and he needs people to punish"
"You say it like you're talking about the weather!" Lexi responds
"It's normal" Adam says shrugging his shoulders
"Well since I'm already wet.." I start but stop when I see the suggestive looks the group is giving me "Gross, assholes. That's not what I meant! How about we have a pool party? The weather is great, Xavier isn't here and we all need to de-stress"
"Maddison Willcott asking for a party? Now I've heard it all" Tirique says laughing
"Oh shut up" I respond and we all walk back to the house to change into our swim suits and get snacks

The party got a bit out of hand
By 'out of hand' I mean that more than half of the pack has joined
There are wolves everywhere and Jason quickly decided that this is an 18+ party so only 'legal eagles' were allowed
There were wolves everywhere; in the pool, in the house, on the grass, loitering around, everywhere.
Drinks in everyone's hands. Alcohol doesn't effect werewolves the way it does humans. It takes a lot of alcohol to get a werewolf even a bit buzzed nevermind actually drunk.
There was loud music playing and my group is chilling around the chairs
The guys have decided to take the DJ role upon themselves and all they're playing is noise.
I've never had the same taste in music as them.
A group of five guys walk up to us as we're sitting and chatting. Two brunettes, two blonds and one with dyed purple hair.
"Hello sexy ladies" one of the brunette guys addresses us
"Boys" I respond
"How about we dance?" Blond dude 1 asks
They're all good looking but they have nothing on any of our mates
"Oh I don't think-" Lexi starts but I cut her off
"We'd love to boys" I say getting up and pulling my best friends up with me
"Come on girls." I say to them when the guys have their backs turned "Live a little. Besides, it's not like you're going to make out with any of them"
"I'm game" Claire says "Nothing's better than jealous sex"
We all gape at her then laugh our asses off
We make our way to the dance floor with the guys and start dancing and swinging our hips to the beat
Alexis was never a good dancer so all I can do is laugh at her because she has about five dance moves that she always does and they're all horrible
We are laughing when we hear a series of growling go off
Soon all the guys are around and they're suddenly ripping the guys off their mates
With werewolves, how possessive you are depends on how high you are on the hierarchy scale. Omegas being the least possessive and Alpha's being the most possessive
Since Adam and Asher are both beta and Delta respectively, they're both pretty much the most possessive men here seeing that Xavier isn't here
"Back off" Jason growls standing in front of Lena
The guys scurry off
"Urgh you guys are giant buzzkills" I groan
"Luna, I think it's best you refrain from dancing with other men in Alphas absence. He'd have all of their heads" Adam says
"Oh Alpha this, Alpha that." We hear a voice from behind us "Alpha's not here. Have some fun for a change, Beta Adam"
I see a man walking up towards us. He's tall with black hair and grey eyes
He seems really familiar
"Octavius!" Adam exclaims as he and Asher make their way towards the man "How have you been old friend?"
"I've been good old friend" he says hugging both of them
"VI!" Lena exclaims and jumps on the strangely familiar stranger
"Lena!" He hugs her affectionately "How have you been gorgeous?"
Jason growls
"Who might you be?" This Octavius man asks Jason
"He's my mate" Lena answers him
"Oh?" He asks "So you're my little sisters mate? You better take care of her or you'll have me to answer to"
Little sister?
"I'm sorry I think I might have a hearing problem" I say "but did you just say 'little sister'?"
"Yeah!" Lena exclaims "This is my older brother Octavius Valiante"
"I thought you only have two brothers?" Sydney asks
"Oh little sister you don't talk about me?" He says looking offended "So you only talk about the boring brothers? Wanna keep the fun one to yourself?"
"Well I didn't exactly introduce any of my brothers to them" she says
That's why he seemed familiar. He's my mate's brother! He's very handsome but it's clear Xavier was in the front of the line when the Moon Goddess was handing out looks, with Octavius right behind him
"Anyway, who are these new faces?" He asks
"This is my mate Jason" Lena says proudly
"This is my mate Sydney" Asher says
"This is my beautiful mate Alexis" Adam says lovingly
"This is my mate Tirique" Claire says
"And this-" Adam starts pointing at me but I cut him off
"I'm Maddison Willcott. Beta and Head warrior of the WhiteClaw pack" I say stepping forward putting my hand out for him to shake "Everyone calls me Maddie"
"Pleasure to meet you Maddie" he says taking my hand and looking at me as if I'm a puzzle "I'm Octavius. Excuse me for being rude but there's something about you that I cannot place"
"Oh yeah she's Xavier's mate" Lena says
"My big brother finally got a mate?" He says looking surprised "Not what I expected. You don't seem very submissive, which is generally my brothers type. I wonder how he deals with you"
"I drive him insane" I say with a sweet, innocent smile
"Oh now that I have to see." He says laughing "Perhaps you and I could team up sometime? Driving my brother up the wall and through the window is my favourite pastime"
"Oh we'll definitely tag team this." I say laughing
Octavius is a really cool guy. Which is surprising considering who's brother he is.
He's funny and lively and like a clown. He has this child-like attitude that you just can't help but love
Nothing like Xavier
The party was over and all the wolves have gone home. It was around 2 in the morning and we were all sitting around chatting
"Yo Maddie bring my something to drink would ya?" Octavius calls out after me when I get up and head to the kitchen
I get him a bottle of water and one for myself and head back.
"I'm not your maid October" I say tossing it at him
"You're right. You're my sister-in-law" he says grinning "Also, stop calling me that"
We decided to play 'the floor is lava' and we were jumping everywhere from the couches to the tables and counters. Octavius had fallen into the lava after Tirique pushed him in and he decided to be the 'sexy lava-swamp monster-thing'
His words, not mine.
"Arrrr" he growls at us and lunges at me. I dive out of the way as the door opens
Xavier walks in but it seems Octavius didn't notice his presence because he still comes after me
I let out a scream and jump at Xavier
He catches me without a second thought and as Octavius comes for me again he growls at him to back off
"Brother!" Octavius exclaims when he finally sees Xavier standing here "So good to finally see you! It's been way too long I've missed you immensely"
He goes to hug Xavier but Xavier growls at him since hugging him would mean touching me and we already established that alphas are possessive
"No" he says clutching me closer "Stay back. No touching"
"OK OK brother" Octavius says putting his hands up "You want to come now and be all possessive when she and I have already had all the fun"
He winks at me
Xavier growls and I just laugh
"I like October" I say looking up at Xavier
"October?" He asks looking down at me
"Yeah it's my nickname for him" I say smiling
"Brother please get her to stop calling me that" Octavius says face palming
"I'm sorry October, my Queen can do what she pleases" Xavier says
Octavius groans and I stick my tongue out at him
Xavier walks over to the couch and puts me down
"Where were you?" I ask him
"I went to do some inquiring and I found some very interesting information" he says sitting on the couch next to me and putting my feet in his lap
"Juicy details?" Octavius asks sitting down in the couch opposition us and listening intently "Do tell brother"
Xavier rolls his eyes at his brothers childish antics
"Maddison?" He says turning to me "Your brother is alive, and he is helping Darren"
"Great" Lexi says
"Of course he is, the scoundrel" Jason says
"I did find out something else however" he says
"What?" I ask
"Darren is planning on attacking in two weeks" he says "A war is coming, and we'd better be ready"
We sit in silence digesting what Xavier just said when a growl rips through Octavius. He sits up seeming to be on high alert his nose high in the air sniffing.
As the door opens he growls out one word
"Mate"
