I walked down the halls of the school building quietly avoiding people, my cheek bruised slightly from the night before. This gained a few stares which furthered my social embarrassment before I spotted Yamaguchi on his own "Y-Yamaguchi" I squeaked clutching onto his uniform "(Y/N)? Hey how are you?" He asked with a slight smile "I-im alright..." I said forcing a smile, he seemed to notice the bruise and looked concerned "What happened?" He asked as I adverted my gaze "Mom..." I mumbled before he sighed "Why don't we go ge-" "Ayyy it's shorty" Tsukishima interrupted walking over ". . . ." I released yamaguchi's uniform befire quickly walking away.

"Good morning Tsuki" Yamaguchi smiled before tsukishima let out a "tch", he sighed walking down the hall "What's up with her?" He grumbled befire Yamaguchi sighed "You mustn't remember her mother... huh?" He questioned before It hit tsukishima like a truck "Shit... she's at it again huh" he walked into class with Yamaguchi not far behind

I bowed to the nurse befire leavijgnher office and walking down the hall "Ahhh (Y/N)" a voice spoke befire I turned to face the vice principal "s-sensei" I smiled softly at him "No need, in my office please" he said befire turning to walk away 'In his office?! What?!' I thought before walking with him, he sat in his chair calmly befire looking me in the eye "So you know the schools newspaper?" He questioned, I shook my head "T-the school currently doesn't have a n-newspaper sensei" I said before he smirked "Smart kid, and for what I've heard you did one in your last school?" He asked "Oh yes, it was quite enjoyable" I smiled "That's good to hear, what would you say if I asked you to create a newspaper for the school?" He asked leaning on his desk "Id love too" I said before he smiled "That's great, your main focus can be on the club's around the school and maybe compare them to pother schools. No drama though" he said as I nodded "Of course sensei" I said befire I was dismissed and headed back for class 'I'm the school journalist' I thought smiling to myself before I entered class, gaining all eyes "s-sorry I'm l-late" I said handing a note to the teacher befire heading to my seat
I quickly jotted the notes on the board into my notebook befire I felt someone kick my seat, I immediately gla rted back at the suspect. Tsukishima. I should've known, I turned facing the front of class again feeling him kick my seat again and again. I groaned before turn i ng to fave him "Q-quit it" I whispered before he smirked slightly "Or what shorty?" He asked with that smug expression, I growled before turning back to the front of class.
I continued my notes only to have Tsukishima continue his childish antics all class! (QwQ) I sighed packing away my stuff and placing my book and pencil case under my desk and turned to get my bag only to have Tsukishima holding it "N-not again" I sighed trying to get my bag, t sulishima stifled a laugh watching me struggle "If only you weren't so short" he smirked as Yamaguchi snickered "Y-Yamaguchi help m-me" I said as he seemed to soften at me, he picked up his own bag and walked away "Y-yamaguchi" I pouted unable to reach, my eyes watered before shoving Tsukishima and storming off.

Tsukishima stood there stunned for a moment, you'd usually continue to try until you got your bag. What was going on with you?
He sighed leaving the classroom only to find Yamaguchi standing there "She went that way" He said pointing down the hall "tch you take it to her" tsukishima growled tossing the bag to Yamaguchi "G-got it" he said befire walking away, Yamaguchi entered the cafeteria spotting you with Hinata and Kageyama "(Y/N), I got your bag" He said only to have everyone gla rte talk him "T-thanks" you muttered taking your bag "Tsukki isn't trying to hurt-" "S-save it Yamaguchi, I don't want to hear it" you said before picking at Hinata's food
(Now I've just realised you knew Hinata and tsukishima at childhood, you knew Tsukki from school and Hinata's mother is friends with your mom. Or at least she was)

I sighed returning to the conversation with Hinata and Kageyama as Yamaguchi left "So you knew Tsukishima and Yamaguchi in childhood?" Kageyama asked "Y-yeah, we were in the same class... I s-sort of got a-along with them..." I said as Hinata chirped in "Really? Did they play voll-" "yes." I interrupted him know exactly what he would say, I sighed before taking a piece of sushi from Hinata's bento box "T-thankyou" I said nibbling the piece quietly "No problem!" He smiled befire we packed up and headed for our free lessons, otherwise known as club time.
I didn't have a club so I decided to start my newspaper, beginning with volleyball "O-oh that's right, y-you two aren't allowed to p-participate yet" I said as they sweatdropped "Yeah..." they sighed before I snickered "A-at least y-you will s-soon" "If we beat the other first years" Hinata said before I looked at them "W-wait that m-means your v-versing Tsukishima and Y-yamaguchi" I said looking at the boys "T-that won't b-be easy" I finished as Tsukishima and Yamaguchi cane around the corner "Your going down." Tsuki smirked calmly sending shivers down my spine "D-don't listen t-to him, y-you got this!" I smiled looking back at the guys "As if I'll beat them like Kageyama did to Hinata back last year" Tsukishima snickered before Hinata growled "How dare you!" He growled "Oh your the kids who caused problems on the first day" Tsukishima smirked "T-tsukishima that's enough" I said stepping between the two of them "Oh shorty I didn't see you there, your jus-" "Don't finish that s-setence" I said before glaring up at him "tch" Tsukishima held his smirk as Yamaguchi laughed beside him "we won't lose to you" Kageyama growled "haha just what is expect from a king" Tsukishima smirked "Quite calling me king" Kageyama muttered "Oh, the rumours true. You do dislike being called king of the court" Tsukishima continued his nagging as Kageyama grew irritated, I stood between the two of them praying that this would die down
Kageyama turned before shoving me out of the way and grabbing Tsukishima by the shirt, I hit the ground with a quiet thud "Tsukki!" Yamaguchi squeaked "Oi you hurt her." Tsukishima seemed to growl as Kageyama released him and walked away, Hinata helped me up asking if I was ok "Y-yeah I'm fine" I said with a soft smile "Well well well king of the court is running from his problems?" Tsukki questioned before Hinata growled "That's enough of the king of the court crap! I'm here too!" He shouted before I stood beside Yamaguchi "Hinata get over here you ass!" Kageyama growled before Hinata jogged away
Tsukishima turned on his heel and walked away "Tsukki wait up!" Yamaguchi said following him, I stood there for a sec watching the two of them before following Kageyama and Hinata.
The next day~
After hearing the match details I had to watch, so with my camera and bag I entered the gymnasium to see the rivalry had began "jeez that tsukishima-kun - WELL PULVERIZE YA!" Tanaka growled sending shivers up my spine, even if I wasn't playing.
The game started and I sat with Kiyoko having a quiet conversation but most of it was watching the game.
I stared in awe as Hinata jumped high into the air slamming the ball, only for Tsukishima to block it perfectly "D-dammit he w-was so close" I muttered as Kiyoko nodded still shocked by his jump "You can keep that up but I'll keep blocking you know?" Tsukishima gave an 'innocent smile' before giving the ball to Yamaguchi to serve and he sadly failed "Unlucky Yamaguchi!" I smiled trying to ease the tension, he smiled slightly before the ball was passed to Kageyama to serve, he served only to have Daichi to receive and Yamaguchi to spike it.
Tsukishima smirked "C'mon king of the court, maybe you should get serious" he said as Kageyama growled "Quit it with the king!" Hinata yelled "oh do you know why he's called that?" Tsukki continued, I stood up knowing where he was going "He's called king of the court by his teammates, it means a selfish egotistical king." He smirked as Kageyama balled a fist "Shut up Tsukishima! Your here to play... not to be an asshole!" I shouted from the sideline, all eyes landed on me as I became nervous "Hah! Get told!" Tanaka laughed "He's right... no one was there and I was benched" Kageyama looked up "but that's just a junior high story, isn't it?" Hinata asked "Why does it matter? We're going to win and join the club activities!" He finished with a smile and then the game continued
I watched as Kageyama prepared to set the ball 'Wait, Where'd-' "KAGEYAMA!" Hinata yelled from the other side of the field "IM HERE!" He shouted and with that Kageyama quickly set it to him and the ball went over the net, shocking the opposing team. I smiled before bursting into a cheer as Kiyoko stood beside me clapping ". . . ." Tsukishima stood there in shock befire Hinata coughed "I was there to receive the ball! I don't care about any of the junior high crap! I really wanna receive the ball! I'll jump anywhere, I'll hit any ball! So, keep on tossing it my way!" Hinata shouted as all eyes landed on him ". . . ." I sat back on the bench with Kiyoko still shocked on what had just happened we watched as the game continued and they tried a new tactic, which failed.
I yawned grabbing my camera and snapping a few play shots "What are you doing?" Kiyoko asked softly "T-the vice p-principal put m-me in charge of the s-school newspaper, what b-better way then to start it with v-volleyball?" I asked be ftire she smiled "True" she said as we continued to watch "I'm telling you no one can hit the kings ego-centric ball" Tsukki smirked "You got that right" Yamaguchi snickered "whatever lets play!" Hinata shouted before the ball was served
I watched as Hinata raced across the court and into the air closing his eyes, Kageyama sending the ball stra ijght to his hand and the ball was sent smashing into the ground "wow you hut the ball" Tsukki sighed before Daichi pitched in "Just now.... Hinata had his eyes closed" he said shocking everyone "Whaaa?!" The opposing team gasped and as did I "h-how did he d-do that?!" I squeaked as comotion occurred on the court.
The game continued as the month seemed to be a fluke, Hinata again ran at the net only to find Tuskkishima and Yamaguchi blocking him. He turned at the las t moment racing to the other side of the court and jumping into the air, Kageyama sent the ball to him and as he swung Tsukkishima jumped in an attempt to block the ball missing by centimetres and the ball slammed into the ground.
Tsukishima cursed under his breath as the first set finished, I walked over with bottles of water handingnthem to the guys "Your d-doing great" I smiled to Tsukkishima and Yamaguchi "Tch" Tsukki took a bottle and walked off "He isn't happy, but thankyou" Yamaguchi smiled taking a bottle "Mmm your doing well too Y-yamaguchi, give yourself credit" I said befire walking away
The second set started and ended much quicker then expected, though Hinata and Kageyama come out on top. I smiled giving Hinata a high five and congratulating them befire going over to Tsukkishima and Yamaguchi "You were so c-close!" I said as they gazed at me "Mmm sucks we lost" Yamaguchi sighed before Tsukkishima huffed "No it's not, I knew from the start we weren't gonna win, I mean we were facing the king." He said before I smiled "But you e-enjoyed it, you g-got really serious" i smiled "tch don't get your hopes up" Tsukkishima said befire smirking slightly, he leant on me calmly "Though I'm quite tired, just stay still for a bit shorty" he said before I grumbled "G-get your s-sweaty arm off my h-head!" I squeaked fgailing to free myself as I grumbled, listening to him snicker. I smiled slightly a this attitude before continuing to try and free myself.
I squeaked as the gymnasium door was slammed open grabbing tsukki's jacket before he laughed "Your such a chicken, shorty" he said as I puffed my cheeks "N-not true" i muttered "You haven't changed from junior high" Tsukki said befire heading over to the team, I walked over to Kiyoko listening as they team manager discussed the details on their practice match.
Timeskip~
I smiled walking with Tsukkishima and Yamaguchi "I can't b-believe Daichi is t-treating you guys to n-nikuman" I smiled as Yamaguchi blinked "What do you mean you guys?" He asked "He'll buy you food too, shorty" Tsukishima yawned holding a bored expression "R-really? B-but I'm not a m-member..." I said adverting my gaze "Sure you are... I mean your working on something to help our popularity right?" Yamaguchi asked "O-oh the n-newspaper a-article... it's n-not much" I said scratching my neck before we joined the rest of the team.
I smiled taking a nikuman to eat (I think that's what it is 😅) I nibbled it slightly before walking over to Tsukkishima to hand him one "I don't want it..." he said before I puffed my cheeks "Yes y-you do" I smiled forcing it into his hands "Your a pest shorty" he muttered before eating "Hehe" I smiled looking up at him "What?" He asked before I adverted my gaze "N-nothing" I said before we continued on our way home, we waved to Yamaguchi who was heading the opposite way to us "B-bye!" I smiled before we continued on our way to the station "T-tsukkishima, do you t-think Karasuno c-can make it to n-nationals this year?" I asked as he scoffed "It depends, I mean if the king and Hinata can work together we might stand a chance" he said as I gazed at him "W-well it's not o-only them w-who makes t-the team. Y-you'll be a great blocker and s-spike just as g-great" I smiled softly "Not quite but thanks shorty" he said before walking onto the train, my eyes widened realising all the seats were full.
Tsukishima smirked grabbing onto the thingy that hangs from the roof (lol what's it called?), I reached for one being unable to grab it "Oh can't you reach shorty?" He asked petting my head "you poor thing" he said before I stumbled forward, he grabbed my shoulder stopping me from landing flat on my face. I blinked before signing in relief "T-thanks" I said fixing my footing, Tsukkishima sigh grabbing the roof peg thing I could reach "H-hey!" I sighed attempting to balance "Grab my arm shorty" he said before adverting his gaze, I tilted my head before grabbing his arm only just "T-thanks" I said blushing slightly 'whys he being nice?' I thought looking up at him ". . . ." An awkward silence was shared between the two of us for the rest of the trip...
