"There you go, have a nice day." I smiled and thanked the nice lunch lady before taking my tray and walking towards a table.

My table. On my way I couldn't help but people watch. This school is run by status. What more can you expect from wanderers. Hormonal wolves, bloodthirsty vamps, and not placed half and halfs. The popular to the nobody's. Im sure you know already which group I belong too. The cafeteria is like a kingdom. Starting with the jocks. The jocks include the athletes. The jocks table is also for the popular kids. The Alphas, betas, third in commands, and even some vamps. Their table was right in the center of the cafeteria. Everyone else revolved around it and they are the kings and queens of the school, and us their subjects.

To the right of them is the cheer table. Only the cheerleader squad sits there; also known as the blondie table. Then by the window and closest to the food, you have the half-breed wanderers. They all stick together over there. Closer to the food cause they are the most picky with food I guess. On the left side of the jock table all the way towards the wall you have the bloodsuckers table.

'Filthy parasites.' I thought disgusted.

Now you may be thinking how in the world do those things eat. Well it's an invention called a blood bag people. Don't ask me the details because I just don't know. Then there is the omega table. It consists of all different omega wolves from different former packs. We are friendly enough with each other but usually spend time with ones from our own pack. For me that would mean... Marcy, and that's about it.

My table is right in between the vamps and omegas. I can't stand vampires and I also can't stand the omegas. They are so depressing. I mean they have a right to be but common! Their talk makes food like almost unenjoyable, and that's just wrong.

I took my full tray and sat down at my table my back to the jocks table. I no longer sat facing them because I didn't wanna draw any unwanted attention to myself. No one sits here but me. Don't get me wrong Ariel sits with me every now and then, but her table is the castle one. She has to sit there to keep up her beta reputation right along side her Alpha, Lash. People have to know that she means business even though she is probably one of the nicest people in this school. Well sometimes. I looked behind me real quick and saw Lydia flirting with a football player.

'Unfaithful bitch.' I growled lowly.

I looked at the tray of food in front of the cheerleaders, and back at my tray.

'And they say I'm not a wolf??? What the hell is that?' I thought confused.

See wolves need a lot more food than humans. One, we are way bigger especially in wolf form and because of our stamina we need more energy. Do not have an eating contest with a werewolf, you will lose people! You will lose.

I do not know how those girls eat close to nothing and can still shift. I would think their wolf would be like.. Dead.

'Ugh whatever. I'm a fat ass and proud of that.' I smirked to myself. 'Once I shift I'm gonna lose it all anyways.'

A tray dropping on, loudly I might add, brought me out of my thoughts. I blinked and looked up to see a smirking Ariel.
"Ugh, proceed."

She squealed. "Okay so I've been talking to others and no one knows who you danced with so can you please just TELL ME!?"

I put my finger to my mouth. She growled.

"DONT SHUSH ME!"

"SHHHHHH!"

Rolling her eyes she sat down across from me. She looked at my tray. "How can you eat so much?"

"How can you eat so little?" I shot back.

"Touché chika." I chuckled.

Her attention was on someone behind me and I turned to see Lash glaring, and that girl Emily waving Ariel over. Or at least I figured it was Ariel.

'Only because we know that girl would rather throw herself in a dumpster than invite me to their table.'

I looked back at Ariel and saw her staring with her eyes glazed over.

'She's mind-linking someone.' I shrugged and started eating my food, but jumped when she growled loudly. Startled I saw plenty of people staring at us cause they heard the power in her growl.

"My brother is such an idiot." I nodded.

"Can't argue with that logic." She laughed. "He telling you to come to the cool kids table?"

She scoffed and popped a carrot in her mouth. "More like demanding and yelling. God I get that I'm his Beta but why does he have to be so rude?"

"He just wants the best for you, and is trying to be a good big bro."

"Why are you defending him!? I mean that's so pathetic!" I growled lowly.

"Trust me! It's the last thing I want to do, but I also care about you. You really shouldn't be around someone like me."

She looked at me, her jaw tight. "Your my best friend," she spoke not looking at me. "And omega or not that's not gonna change." I nodded and put my hand over hers.

"I know. And I appreciate it ."

She smiled. "Any time chicka."

Suddenly she growled again.

'OKAY! Shut up!' I heard her yelling in my head.

'Ouch, there's the headache!' I thought annoyed.

"Hey, I gotta go see what the all high and mighty Alpha wants. Come with me?" She held out her hand and gave me the face.

"Not the face, please not the face Ariel!"

"Please please please!" I shook my head.

"No! So you can drag me over there like yesterday, and I have to sit there and listen to everyone tell what a loser I am, and how I'm ruining your powered reputation along with Lash's? No way!" By the end she was glaring.

"Fine. Fair enough. I'll be back."

'Lets go mermaid!' I heard Lash's angry voice in my head.

"Impatient isn't he?" Ariel said and winked at me before following her brothers orders. I kept eating until I heard whispering all around me.

'What the...?' I turned around and saw what the fuss was about. There walked in Hunter and another guy who looked so much like him. Almost like twins except Hunter was a little bit shorter. 'Maybe that's his cousin?? The one with the mate?' I couldn't stop staring as I watched them go to the lunch line together.

'Are you seeing the hot goodness I'm seeing?' Ariel's voice sounded off in my head.

I turned my mind-link on. 'I think everyone in the lunch room sees what you see.' I heard her laugh.

'Haha yea true that. Boy would I love to do that? The shorter ones name is Hunter Robins. Total hottie and single. Don't know much about him.'

I chocked on a fry at the comment of "doing" Hunter.

'You okay?'

I nodded even thought she wasn't there.

'The other ones name is Ryder I believe, hot too but sadly he has a mate. I don't even know her.'

'How do you not know her? Your the beta!'

'Yea but I only helped with the acceptance ceremony. My father and Lash met with them all personally. The girl wasn't at the ceremony. Perks of being an Alpha child though is that you find things out.'

'What else to you know about, the Hunter dude?'

"Not much except I think he really doesn't wanna be here." I jumped startled when I heard her speak right behind me.

"Sorry did I scare you?" I shook my head.

"No. Just give me a moment to make my heart beat again." She laughed as she sat down again.

"I don't know their backstory. Lash might. But I'm guessing they were all rouges, and the cousin wanted to become part of a pack."

I turned to look at the pair. "And Hunter wasn't a happy camper?"

"NoPe." She popped the P.

"Why would he wanna become part of a pack?"

Ariel scoffed. "For protection! I'll admit the life as a omega around here is totally unfair, but with a good title it's the way to live. No offense chicka." I waved it off.

'None taken. As usual.' I thought to myself.

I saw Ariels attention totally behind me and I turned as I watched Hunter and apparently Ryder pay. Ryder had a whole bunch of food while Hunter had nothing. He rolled his eyes at something Ryder said. I strained my ears so I could here what they were saying.

"I'm serious Hunt. You will not ruin this for me and her! Be good!"

Hunter chuckled and wrapped his arm around his friends shoulder. "Duh! Good is my middle name, Ry-Ry. Don't worry about me." Ryder looked annoyed.

"I'm not, I'm worried about me and my mate."

"Okay okay! I'll behave." Ryder growled at him.

"You better. I'll see you, on time, after school right??" Hunter sighed.

"RY..!" He complained.

"ON TIME!"

Hunter sighed and looked away nodding. "On time. Gotcha." With that Ryder patted him on the back and then walked off. "Ass." I heard Hunter mutter to himself. I then stopped ease dropping.

Hunter stood there like he didn't know what to do. He looked confused and way out of place. That didn't last long, when I saw one of the blondie cheerleaders strut her way over and link her arm through his. I decided to listen again. 'Don't judge me!' I thought.

"Hey hot stuff. I noticed you didn't have a place to sit. Why don't you come with me and sit with the squad?"

He looked at her like she was crazy. "The squad?"

She pointed to the cheer table.

"Ahh, I see."

I heard Ariel laugh and I looked at her. "What I'm watching too, and he looks just sooo uncomfortable. I feel bad. Poor baby." I rolled my eyes and turned back to the scene. The cheerleader was still trying to convince Hunter over when Lydia walked up. She stood next to him and put her hands on her hips.

"Back off bitch. He was invited by my mate to sit at the table that matters. So why don't you scoot your flat ass back to your girls."

"Sure. Umm well my offer is always there if you change your mind."

Lydia growled and the girl scurried off. Hunter chuckled and turned to Lydia. "I don't like the way you handled it, but I guess I should thank you."

She giggled and towed him towards the middle table. I rolled my eyes and turned around to find Ariel glaring at the retreating duo. "What's up with you, mermaid?" I asked her quietly.

"One word. Lydia."

I put my arms on the table and leaned forward. "Yea. What's up with that? Did they.. Mate? Did he claim her?" She shook her head.

"Nah, but you know how she is. Because they have been dating for a while she is convinced she is gonna be the next Luna no doubt about it."

"Skank." I growled.

"Hey hey hey!," Ariel covered her ears. "You know how I feel about profanities!" I laughed.

"Only you say the word profanities. They are curse words, Ariel. Curse words."

She growled. "Whatever. I don't like people in my pack using them."

I mimicked her and we both laughed. "Hey can you help my with my work? I hate border patrols." I smiled and nodded before getting up and sitting next to her.

"This is easy."

She scoffed. "FOR YOU! It's like omegas are naturally smart. Maybe you not made to be stronger for a reason."

I laughed. "Yea maybe."

We worked on her homework until we had about 10 minutes of lunch left. Then fitness class.

'Ugh.' I shuddered at the thought of another sport game. Suddenly Ariel whispered in my ear.

"Hey, don't look now but the hot Hunter is staring at you." I rolled my eyes not looking up.

"Oh is he now?"

"Yea, like totally staring."

"Sure he is." She shook my shoulder.
"Ariel!..."

"No seriously! LOOK!" I sighed and looked up annoyed to see that he really was staring. When we made eye contact he smirked. I just kept staring. In case no one has noticed yet I'm a very awkward person. Yet again don't judge me. He raised and eyebrow and shook his head before turning his attention to whatever this girl was saying to him.

"He is beautiful. I think he likes me."

I sighed "Sure Ariel, why wouldn't he like you." She giggled and blushed.

'That's my best friend for ya folks.' I thought sarcastically.

I looked again to find Hunter looking at me again. He smiled at me, but I glared back. I still hadn't forgiven him for the whole "other side of the classroom" thing.

I looked back down at the book in front of me.

"Ariel.. You did this all wrong, you're supposed to.."

"Is he talking about you?" Surprised I looked up again. Hunter smiled when we made eye contact, happy he got my attention. I blinked; thinking I was dreaming; when he motioned me over with one finger.

"How sexy is that!?" Ariel squealed.

I ignored her and stared confused. I pointed to myself and mouthed "me??". He nodded and chuckled to himself. "He totally wants you to go over there. Why??" I glared at my best friends tone.

"I don't know." I looked at Hunter and shook my head. He sighed and growled lowly but I heard it.

"Why is he asking you to come over there? Does he know you?" I looked at Ariel and debated whether I should tell her the truth.

'I would never hear the end of it, plus she likes him. I can't.'

I just shrugged and looked back at Hunter. Except he wasn't there.

'Where did he go?'
I shook my head and looked around. 'He's not here.'

Ariels confused and angry voice shook me. "What do you think you're doing?" I looked back and jumped surprised to see Hunter sitting right across from me. He looked at Ariel with a smirk on his face.

"It's called sitting." He cocked his head to the side glaring at her. Almost like a challenge.

"No seriously what are you doing?" I asked totally confused. He looked at me and I saw energy in his eyes and that cute smile on his face.

"Well you wouldn't come over to that table, so I thought I'd come to you instead." Ariel interrupted.

"No one sits here but her and me."

He scoffed. "You mean her. Your at the wrong side of the lunch room aren't you your highness??" She growled lowly.

"Hunter I don't think you should.."

"So you do know him!? What!?" Ariel screamed. I held my hands up in surrender.

"I- I ummm."

"Hey," Hunter touched my hand. "Is this girl bothering you, Eve?"

Ariel snarled and got all in his face, using her wolf speed. Hunter stood up faster than I could blink. "Try the other way around!" Ariel snarled. Hunter snarled right back.

"Ariel, don't do this here.. It's..."

She growled and looked at me and I saw her eyes almost fully pitch black. "You better calm down your highness before you shift right here."

"HUNTER STOP!" I yelled standing up too.

"Do you know who I am pup!?"

"Unfortunately yes. I do."

"HUNTER STOP ANTAGONIZING HER! She's gonna shift!"

"And I should care why?"

I put my hand on Ariels shoulder only for her to push it off. "Ariel calm down." She was now breathing heavily and I didn't know what to do. So I did the last thing I wanted to.

'LASH!' I mind-linked him. 'Lash help! Ariel is going off!!!'

Almost immediately Lash was there getting in between Hunter and his twin. "What the hell is going on!?" Ariel snarled and snapped her teeth at Hunter.

'Why is she getting so mad!? I don't understand.' I thought at Lash.

"I don't know." He answers out loud.

"Are you sure this is who you want to be your future Beta? She doesn't look stable enough to handle the job." Hunter reasoned with a smirk.

"What is your problem!?" I yelled at Hunter.

Lash looked at me with annoyance. "Eve, please! Don't! We've got enough angry wolves here already." I nodded and stayed quiet.

"You little mutt!," Ariel yelled. "You don't belong here anyways!"

"Ariel that's enough!" Lash commanded.

She calmed down just a bit. Hunter opened his mouth again. "One more word from you, and I snap your pretty little neck." Ariel threatened.

Hunter laughed. "Hot headed aren't we?" Ariel snarled and lunged for him, but Lash held her back with a hand on her chest.

"Let me go!" She yelled. Now everyone's eyes were on us. Lash looked at me, "help me" in his eyes.

"Get Dex."

I nodded and mind-linked him. 'DEXTER GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!' I saw Lash smile at my choice of words.

'On my way.' He mind-linked back. 'But watch the way you talk to me omega.'

Lash snapped. 'Not the time Dex. So I'll say it GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE! And don't yell at Eve for following her Alphas's orders.' Very soon Dex was right next to him.

"What rode up your ass?"

Lash growled. "Take Ariel and make her run! She needs to shift, she's to pissed right now." Dex nodded.

"Yes Alpha." He practically wrestled Ariel out of the room who was shaking in anger. I watched as they walked in just as Ryder and a red haired girl walked in. Ryder laid eyes on Hunter and he growled loudly. Soon he was right next to him while the girl came over at a normal pace.

"What have you done now!?"

Hunter scoffed. "Nothing but sit down at the table of my choosing, cousin." He rolled his eyes. Lash looked at me.

"Is this true, Eve?" I nodded.

"Yes, he sat down and suddenly Ariel started acting up. Alpha." I bowed my head In respect. Lash nodded back and turned to the trio of newcomers.

"Hunter your free to go, with no punishment. I apologize for my future Betas behavior."

Hunter scoffed and nodded. Ryder whispered something in his ear and Hunter nodded looking down.

'He looks ashamed.' I thought to myself.

He started to leave the girl by his side but before he could Lash spoke up. "Hunter. Yes, it was wrong for my Beta to act this way; and again I apologize; but as her brother I suggest you show her more respect next time you get into a scuffle, or there will be consequences next time."

"Yes Alpha." It looked so hard for him to say those two words.

'Maybe Ariel was right. I don't think he wants to be here.'

Hunter then turned, grabbing the hand of the red head and walked out of the cafeteria.

I sighed to myself feeling the tension in the room leave. Ryder stepped forward to address Lash. "Alpha." He bowed his head in respect. "I'm so sorry for my cousins actions. He can get carried away with his taunting and I'm sure he really didn't mean your sister and Beta any disrespect."

'Didn't seem like that.' I thought to myself.

"Yes Ryder. None taken. My sister is not always the easiest person to control or get along with either." Ryder chuckled.

"He is just getting used to pack life, and he's struggling. His life hasn't been the easiest, but I assure you he will change once he makes some friends and gets used to something called rules."

Lash laughed. "See that he does. Your free to go." Ryder bowed and left.

Then it was just me and Lash. Everyone else seemed to go back to what they were doing, not paying attention to us.

"Well that went well." Lash mumbled.

I couldn't help but laugh. "Yes. Is Ariel gonna be alright?" He sighed and glanced at me.

"She'll cool down eventually. Why?" I shrugged.

"She's my best friend. I care about her. Just like you." He simply nodded in response.

"I gotta go find her and Dex. Thank you for staying calm, Eve." I nodded.

"You weren't so bad yourself. Maybe you'll be a great Alpha after all."

Lash smiled. "You can go on with your day now."

"Alpha." I bowed my head and then watched him turn and walk to his table. Lydia got up and linked her arm through his and they walked off together. I shook my head with a smile.

Walking towards the gym I laughed.
'I always wanted to go to a lunch and show!'
