Thelma stared into the mirror. She couldn't believe who stared back. An image more like Theresa's. She looked so much like Theresa and she wondered if it was the makeup or the dress. She concluded that it was everything. She loved to dress casual. Theresa was the fashionable one, more like a fashionista.

She was at the female's restroom. Different ladies moved about. Some were reapplying their makeup while others just stayed to gossip.

"Oh my! I must say, you look gorgeous!" a voice came from behind Thelma. She glanced behind her and was surprised to see Vivian innocently smiling at her.

"Like wow! I love your dress," Vivian commented.

"Thanks!" Thelma smiled back.

She is acting nice. Why?

"Oh, Look at this! A thread is loose in your dress"

"What? Where?" Thelma gasped as she look at her back. She stared at the mirror that reflected her back view.

"I will just cut the thread" Vivian suggested. She pulled Thelma till she couldn't look at the mirror and cut it. A smile creased her excessively made up face, "All done!".

"Thanks!"

"No problem. It is a pleasure to help"

Vivian strutted as some ladies in the room, eyed her dress. Thelma smiled at the thought of seeing the good side of Vivian. She wiggled among the crowd, trying to find her way to Alex. Everyone were gathered to sing the birthday song.

Thelma felt something rest at her back. She turned abruptly to see who it could be that would touch her.  Alex stood behind her. His bright eyes accusingly stared at her while he placed his suit on her body.

"What..." said Thelma before Alex interrupted.

"Remind me never to take you with me to a party?"

"Why?"

"I can't say the exact amount I spent on that dress that's torn now," he paused and his eyes ran down her dress. "Keep the suit on if you don't want to disgrace yourself. Your choice." He shrugged and left.

Torn?

Her eyes fell on Vivian at a distance. She had a razor stuck out at her lips. She pulled it out, pointed at Thelma and smiled like a true witch.

"She tore my dress?" Thelma muttered and stared in disbelief. She sighed and looked back at Alex who was stalking to his seat. She trailed after him till they got to their seat.

"Sir! Can we go now?" Thelma's soft voice whimpered. She felt stupid for letting Vivian do this to her and, she felt hurt that Alex was regretting taking her to the party.

Alex let out an exasperated sigh, "I have a lot to do". Now, he was frustrated by her presence.

Thelma held her breathe for a second and sighed. She slipped her bottom lip between her teeth but stopped before she could nip on it.

"I don't feel comfortable at all," she added.

"Have you ever been comfortable since today?" he snapped.

She dropped her head and walked away. She was heading to the exit door. She wanted to leave.

"Hey!" she heard Alex call out.

Unexpectedly, she was pulled back by a firm grip on her arm. She stumbled and got still.

"Hey! Wait for a minute. I will drop you off, okay?" Alex whispered while still trying to maintain a voice devoid of emotion. She nodded and stood there. Later on, they got to the car and were on their way.

***************************

"So, it's weekend. What do you plan to do?" Thelma asked Theresa as she packed her hair back into a ponytail. She jumped onto the bed and pouted.

"Hey, don't mess up my bed" Theresa yelled. Her eyes were on her phone as she texted rapidly. Was she in a texting competition? Thelma wondered.

"Theresa!" Thelma whined,  shaking her shoulder.

"What?"

"I'm bored," she replied and pouted. "What are you doing that's keeping you busy?"

"Oh, I posted a selfie on my Instagram. I'm kinda trying to reply them. You know I am some kind of fashion diva!" she answered, her eyes still on her phone.

"Let's go outside"

"You can. I'm not stopping you"

"Come on, Theresa. I don't want to be alone".

"Aaah! Gosh, girl! Can't I be alone? I..."

Thelma quickly interrupted her. "Please!"

"Ok! Let's go!" Theresa rolled out of the bed. She stole a glance of herself at the mirror and smirked. "Hey, do l look good?" she asked.

"Yeah, good is even an understatement!" Thelma replied. They strolled out of the room, locking it behind them.

Walking out the hotel entrance door to the garden, they caught sight of Oscar pacing at the lawn. His fingers raked down his blond hair multiple times.

"What's the matter?" Thelma requested when they got to him. However, Theresa was still texting on her phone.

"Well... I.. Have you seen any puppy?" he stuttered, restlessly moving about. His blue eyes flickered with different emotions.

"Puppy?" She turned to Theresa who was indifferent about the situation.

"I am searching for a female maltese puppy. It has long white fur. At her head, the fur were packed with a black ribbon. She has big black eyes" he paused and drew in a long breathe. "Aargh! She just ran out of the hotel. I can't find her".

"Don't worry! I will help you. Erm...Theresa, are you coming?"

"Uh? What's happening?" Theresa rose a brow with a confused look.

"Theresa, Oscar is searching for his puppy. She went missing. Are you going to help?"

"Oh, please! No time for that. But if you find the puppy and it's cute...You know, perfect like me. Then, I must meet it. Kisses!" she stretched her hand for a selfie while Oscar and Thelma stollered off.

"So, what's her name?"

"Rockie!" he sighed. "Rockie is so playful. I know right now that she is somewhere playing". They searched the bushes and every corner around the hotel garden while chorusing 'Rockie'.

Theresa was still taking numerous selfies. She was looking for the perfect selfie to post. As she pouted her lips and stared into the camera of her phone, a hand from behind her pulled her phone away from her grip.

"What the... " she turned around to see an individual smiling at her. "Kelvin?" she grabbed her phone from him. "That was about to be my perfect selfie".

"Awwn! Let's see!" he grabbed the phone and scrolled down her pictures. "Cute! Awesome!.... You look sexy here... Hmm! Not bad... I love this...". He commented as he studied each pics. Kelvin held a basketball at his other hand as he scrolled. His eyes fixed to the phone with an amused smile. A sweatsuit wrapped loosely on his muscles and he had wristbands on. He looked like he was on his way to the gym.

"Hey, you have no right to take my phone and drool over my pictures!" she smirked.

"But.. But.. But drooling is free. It's not an offense," he pouted. Theresa shook her head and stretched her palm.

"Give it!"

"Fine!" Kelvin smiled and gave her the phone.

"What do you have plan for today?" he asked.

"Isn't it obvious?"

"Just taking pictures?"

"Yeah, it is totally fun. What about you?"

Kelvin smiled and rotated the basketball on his finger. "You wanna learn how to play?"

"What? Of course not"

"Why not?" he furrowed his brow and with squinted eyes, walked close to her. She glared at him. Theresa was glad the old Kelvin was back. He could be a jerk but he was a fun person to be around.

"Excuse me? Must I? I have never liked sport. I only do little exercise to maintain this beautiful shape," she wiggled her hip.

"Basketball is not the way you take it. It's lovely" Kelvin tried to persuade her.

"Whatevs! Just get lost"

"Rude! You know we just became friends. Don't you want to maintain that relationship with some tolerable attitudes?" Kelvin questioned and tilted his head to a side.

Theresa smiled and with a lovely voice replied, "Okay, stupid new friend! I'm even tired of the selfies...Yeah no! Still feel the burning interest but let's go". She wrapped her arms around his as they walked towards the basketball court in the hotel.

"Hey, don't blush stupid Friend," she teased him and jabbed her elbow at his waist. Kelvin burst into a fit of laughter.

***************************

Oscar and Thelma had left the hotel. They were still searching for the puppy. A man told them that a white-furred puppy had been whining at a corner.
They rushed to the direction and there laid the cute puppy, Rockie.

"Rockie, why did you run away?" Oscar fell to his kneel before Rockie. He petted the little cutie. Her tail wiggled in excitement as she barked, licking Oscar's face. Its cute tiny tongue stuck out as it panted.

"Awwn! She is so cute"   Thelma beamed as she stroked Rockie's fur. Rockie stared at her in silence and later began to lick her hand.

"She likes you!" he smiled. "Hey, I want to take her to my friend's place. Would you like to come along with me?".

"Why not? Let's go!"

"Cool!" Oscar lifted Rockie in his arm. He scratched her ear and the puppy moaned. Watching him show love to Rockie brought out the caring side of him. Thelma admired that. They began a saunter to his friend's house.
After walking a few miles, they got to a nice simple house and Oscar pressed the doorbell. A chubby lady of average height opened the door.

"Oscar!" she greeted and gave him a side hug.

He smiled at her, "Hey, Ursula".

"Thelma meet Ursula, my friend and my pet sitter," he gestured to the chubby lady at the door that looked to be in her early twenties.  "Ursula meet Thelma, my good friend" he placed his hand at the small of Thelma's waist.

"Hi!" Thelma gave out a genuine smile.

"Wow! You're pretty," Ursula commented. She had a round face with piercing green eyes and a spectacle hung on her nose. "Come in".

"Thanks," Thelma replied. Oscar and Thelma stayed for a while. They ate lunch and chatted with Ursula. Later, they decided to stroll because Ursula had things to do. They didn't want to be distractions.

"Would you like to go to an amusement park?" Oscar asked.

"Now?"

"Yeah! You're bored, right?"

"Hmm...Yes!" Thelma nodded and smiled at him. "How do you know that?"

"I'm starting to discover a lot of things about you. I wish to know you better!" he whispered and his blue eyes jabbed into hers. "So would you like to go to an amusement park? We can go now?"

"Hmmm...I don't mind"

"Ok, Thelma! Let's go. You will love it" Oscar exclaimed and stopped a taxi which they boarded.

Thelma was impressed. Oscar was cute with his awesome blond hair. He was also sweet. She couldn't forget the image of Oscar petting his puppy, Rockie. It was extremely adorable. He was an amiable person and was caring. She admired that about him.
