Finally, school is over, I was going out to the parking lot with Astrad and I remembered what she told me about Vanessa.
" You were saying things about Vanessa"
" Yeah can we talk about that later?, I need to get some supplies" Astrad said
" Okay, are you okay?" I asked Astrad have been jumpy since we came out and she was constantly looking side to side.
" Yeah, I am" she said still looking side to side
" Okay, I was thinking about going to..."
" Bye Autumn, I will call you" she said and ran off, she got into a car and they left. There was someone at the back but I couldn't see the persons face. My phone rang and I looked at the ID and inwardly groaned.
"Hi Mom"
" Autumn, find your brother and sister and get down to Rumps Place now"
" But mom, you can just call them"
" Listen Autumn, I know but this is urgent get down to Rumps place now!"
" Fine, we'll be there" I mumbled, I quickly went inside to look for Summer and Zachary. After many minutes of searching with no Summer I tried calling her but she didn't answer.
I decided to find Zachary first, I went up to the senior section. I was stopped by a bad guy, I looked up and saw Ryan.
Fuck!!! Ryan is the famous king of under ground fighting.
" What the hell are you doing here?!!" He roared
" I I I... I'm sorry, I just came to..."
" You fucking whore did you come to seduce the seniors"
"Why the hell will you say that you delinquent!!!?" I slapped my mouth shut immediately it came out
He raised his hand and I braced my self and closed my eyes. I was expecting a hot slap but when I didn't get any. I opened my eyes and I saw Elvis holding his hand.
" Now now now, Ry don't you know it's not good to slap a woman" Elvis said
" Let go of me!!" Ryan roared again
Elvis came closer to him and whispered something to him and Ryan calmed down, he gave a death stare before storming out.
" Are you okay?" Elvis asked
" Yeah, thank you so much" I said wiping my sweaty hands on my jeans.
"So why are you here?"
" I am looking for Zachary"
" Zack?, Go down the hall and take a right turn and you will see him in the...fuck it...I will take you there"
" Thanks" and we started walking down the hall in silence
" Your boyfriend knows that you're here?" I was caught off guard by that question
" No and he's not my boyfriend"
" He's not?" He didn't sound surprised
" Nope, we're just friends"
He laughs, his laugh sounds heavenly like angels singing, " That's what they all say"
" No seriously, I and Kincaid are friends" we made a turn and he turned sharply towards me, I startled and I nearly fell but he held my waist.
" Ahem, thanks"
" You're welcome" he smiled then he looked at me in an awkward way and starts walking towards me he came forward and I moved back, I was moving back until my back hit a door and he puts his two hands on the door trapping me between. He looked at my lips then licks his lips and he leaned in and nods his head towards the door and says
" That's Zachary class, you're welcome" he straighten and walked down the hallway, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and looked at him there I saw Kincaid with an emotion I couldn't decipher.
Elvis walked past him without a glance, Kincaid walked towards me with that emotion in his eyes.
" What are you doing here?"
" Uhmmm, I came to get Zack..." And my phone rang and I answered
" Hi Mom"
" Autumn should I die before you get your siblings to Rumps place"
" Summer is nowhere to be found in school"
" Just get here as soon as possible!"
And she hung up, just then Zachary opened the door and came out with Tasha the senior queen, Zack's girlfriend.
" Autumn what are you doing here?" Zachary asked looking at me and he then glances over to Kincaid
"Getting your ass to Rumps place, we have ten minutes to find Summer" I said looking at Tasha who keeps staring at me like I was a nerd, which I am by the way
" Why are you going to Rumps place on a Thursday" Zack asked
" We will answer that question at Rumps place" I said and added " Let's go" when he didn't move .
He reluctantly kissed Tasha. Kincaid turns to me.
" I will pick you up for the party Autty, you're going right?"
" Yeah I guess so and Kincaid I will be going home with Zack and Summer"
" Okay, I will see you tomorrow" he came forward and kissed my forehead, and he left.
After tons of kisses Zack finally said,
"I hate to leave you, but I will call you" Zack said and gave Tasha another kiss and then he got his backpack and we went down to the Junior section to look for Summer.
" So you said you looked for Summer everywhere but you didn't see her?" Zack asked me for the tenth time
" Yes, Zachary, everywhere did she leave early?"
" Summer never leaves early"
" Yeah you have a point"
We went to the Library and we didn't see her. I got tired and I gave up
" Let's go we'll just tell mom we didn't see her"
" Have you looked for her in the janitors room?" Zack asked walking towards the Janitors room and he opens the door, I go towards him
" Why would Summer be in the...." I look inside and saw Summer and Randy making out
We they noticed us, she straightened and cleared her throat
" What the hell are you guys doing here?" She asked while her eyes blazed with anger
" Mom said we should come down to Rumps place, Summer, we got 10 minutes" I said
" I will see you later love" Randy said and kissed Summer on her already swollen lip and he leaves
" Wow, at least I have one sister who is hot" Zack said smirking
I rolled my eyes and start walking towards the exit, Zack chased after me and puts his arm around my neck
" I didn't mean that back there, you're still my best" he said and I smile
Zack is cool when he wants to be and Summer too. Summer cares about me even though she hides I know she does, I just hope our feud stops one day.
We got to the parking lot and Zack brings out his keys, at least I get a ride in the convertible.
I slide into the front seat while Summer stays at the back, we were thankfully silent throughout the drive to Rumps, the last thing I want was questions about going to Rumps
We saw mom sitting in a family sized booth she closed her eyes.
"Hey mom we're here" Zachary said
"Good" she said and opened her eyes and we saw she was crying
"I lost your father's speech for the campaign"
" So why are we here?" Summer snapped
My mom ignored Summer, "I was thinking if Autumn could write a new one"
"Yeah sure I will write it"
"Dad would know that it's not the same speech" Summer stated
"Yes,I will handle that, the most important thing is that there's a new speech" my mom said rubbing her forehead which is something she does when she's tired
"So why am I here?" Summer asked
"I wanted you guys to be aware of what's going on so..." mom said
"So when you start getting the beating we won't intervene" Summer said
"Summer!!, For Pete's sake!!" my mom yelled
Summer just rolled her eyes.
Summer and mom starts arguing and all this while Zack have been texting.
"Can you guys shut up!! Just shut up!!" Zack yelled startling all of us, Zack never yells instead he will just cry and let his sentiments get the best of him.
" Yeah blablabla, With that settled I gotta run, see you later family" Summer said and she left
" Let's go guys" mom said and stood up to leave, we all left together.
Tonight is going to be bad!

Zack and I sat down in the living room while dad yelled at mom upstairs. Jade came down crying and I went to cuddle her
" Why do they fight always?" She asked with tears
" Ssshhh, it's okay it will be over soon" I hugged her, where the hell is Summer!?
Just then she opened the door and saw us
" What's up?" She asked
" The usual" Zack said frowning deeply, this problem affects Zack so much because he is sentimental
"So what did I miss?" Summer asked sitting on a sofa
" Can you be sympathetic enough to go upstairs and calm dad down?" I asked Summer
Summer laughed and said " I love it when you admit that I am the only one who can do it" she stood and went upstairs after few yelling. Mom came down trying to hide her swollen eyes.
" Your father said he will take the speech by Autumn" she said and sniffed, then she told me to take Jade to bed.
Just like every other fights mom will sleep in Zacharys room and tomorrow everybody acts like nothing happened. I changed into my PJs and I laid on the bed waiting for the hands of sleep to hold me.
" Autumn!!!!" Someone yelled from downstairs and I fell off the bed, I thought I heard the yelling in my dreams until it came again and I checked the time ; 8:15am Damnit!!!
I stood up immediately grabbed my toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush and shoved it into my backpack. I grabbed baggy jeans and wore with a crop top, no time to shower. I grabbed my backpack and ran downstairs mom was on a call.
" Okay Mrs Lee, I will make sure I visit you when I come to New York" my mom said into the phone Mrs Lee!! I thought Astrads mom is back.
" So you finally decided to come down" she told me
" Sorry" I said trying to brush my hair...I gave up and made it a messy bun.
"Zack and Summer left already, I will drop you off" mom said and left to get her keys
My phone... damn I forgot my phone
I ran upstairs taking the stairs two at a time, grabbed my phone and came down before she came out with her keys.
With my mom's slow driving we arrived by 8:56, I am officially late!!!
I looked at my timetable and I have calculus. I opened the door of Mr Timothy's class gently and step in.
" Miss Arison, how pleasant of you to join this class this early" he said sarcastically
I counted one to ten in my head so I can calm down. I smiled sweetly
" I am so sorry Mr Timothy, I couldn't get..."
"I don't care Arison, you will be punished for this I promise, take your seat" he said, it took everything in me to stop the 'fuck you' I was about to say. Mr Timothy is just a pervert
I rolled my eyes and sat at the back. After the class I had study hall then free period and then lunch. I can't wait!! I hate calculus!! was in my mind as I walked towards my locker. I saw Kincaid leaning on my locker when he saw me he smiled.
" Hey stranger" he said smiling
" Hey, what's up" I asked and he pushes off my locker and stands behind me as I exchanged my book for my History textbook.
" I'm picking you up for the party tomorrow, pretty eyes"
" Pretty eyes? " I asked laughing
" Yeah, your eyes are very pretty"
" Mmmmh, thanks I guess"
" You guess?, Do you want me to die Autumn?" He joked
" And why would you die, Kins?"
He laughed when I crossed my arms and he waved his hand as if to dismiss the question.
" Never mind, I have something to tell you"
" Really?"
" Yes and it's important, very important"
" I am all ears"
" As..."
" Autty you won't believe..." Astrad stopped when she saw Kincaid, "Am I interrupting?"
" No I was just leaving" Kincaid told her and to me, " See you later pretty eyes" and he left
" Pretty eyes mmmm?" Astrad said not joking or teasing
" What?!"
" I thought you dating Kincaid was just a rumour"
" It is, we're friends, he did not ask me out"
" Listen Autumn, I am your friend and I love you so I'm telling you this from my heart, Kincaid is not a good person"
" Astrad..."
" Autumn you know I would tell you everything right??"
" You will?" I asked remembering what happened this morning
" Yes, why would you even say that?"
"Nothing, you were going to tell me something, right?" I asked trying to change the subject
" It's not important, Autumn I'm your best friend"
" I know that"
" You know you can tell me anything, right?"
" Yes I know, look Astrad let's not make this an issue, I will love to get to class before the bell rings, I will see you later" without waiting for a response I left her
" Boo!!" Avery came out from nowhere and I jumped
" Avery!! You scared me!" I said holding my chest and she starts laughing and soon I joined her
" I was thinking since you're so smart how about I come over to your house and you help me study for my Chemistry test on Tuesday and exams are fast approaching" she said
" Sure, how about Sunday night?" I asked, she made a face as if she's thinking
" Sunday night is perfect"
" Good, I will see you on Sunday night" I said
" Yeah, see you on Sunday night" and she left smiling like she just won a lottery.

My phone beeped during lunch,
Urgent meeting!
Susan.
I got up and Astrad looks at me, "Where are you going?"
" Urgent meeting with the newspaper club I will be back." I took my salad and left.
When I got to the meeting room there were many students there. I sat down next to a blonde guy with weird glasses.
" You're all welcome, as I was saying before, very soon the seniors will be graduating, give it up for the only senior in our midst, Gideon" the guy next to me stood up while we all clapped.
"I will be assigning every one of you three seniors to interview and write a story about but after some pleas I will be choosing just one while you choose the rest" after calling lots of names she got a call before she could finish the rest of the names.
" Hi I'm Gideon" the guy next to me says
" Nice to meet you Gideon I am Autumn" I said extending my hands he took it
" So you just joined the TWABIES?"
"Yeah"
" You're welcome, I love to get to know you"
"Why"
" You're a good person and you're be..."
" Bad news guy, Jane can't join us today, so I will be attaching her interviews to the three people remaining" Susan said
"Autumn I am giving you Gideon" I turn and look at him and he smiles, jeez something about this guy gives me the chills.
" Okay" I said
" You can choose you other two"
" I choose Kincaid and Zachary"
" Okay, Margaret? Fatima?"
" I choose Randy and Daniel, the new guy" Margaret said
" I choose Stanley and Genevieve" Fatima said
" Good, I choose Kyle and Tasha, Margaret I am adding Mark to yours, Fatima you got Rita while you Autumn you get Elvis"
Elvis! I am so fucked up.
"...the interview must be videoed and there should be an article you should write about the person, it will be presented on the graduation ceremony, understood?" Susan said
" Yeah" everyone chorused
" Meeting dismissed" Susan said
We all stood up to leave but Susan called me back.
"Hey Autumn can I talk to you?"
"Yeah, What's up?"
"So tell me Autumn, what's going on between you and the senior guys?"
The question was weird, "What do you mean?" I asked frowning
"First Kincaid came here for your number then Gideon asked me to put him in the group of people you will interview"
That explains how Kincaid got my number, but why is Gideon interested in me?
"I don't know Susan, I am also surprised as you are" I said
"Fine but don't get involved with Kincaid, or you will be able in real deep shit girl"
"Really?" I asked frowning
"You sound like you haven't read the Vanessa's story, you read it right?"
"Yes I did, why?"
"Nothing"
"Okay" I turn to leave but I hesitated
"Uhmm, Susy?"
"Yes?"
"Out of curiosity do you know who wrote the Vanessa story?"
"Yes, it was Astrad, I wonder why she left the TWABIES"
"Astrad was in the TWAB?"
"Yeah"
" Thanks" I left immediately, Astrad is keeping something from me and I will find out. I went to my locker I didn't want to go back to the cafeteria, I have to think. I opened my locker and a piece of paper fell out. I picked it up and opened it.
'Curiosity kills the cat!!'
I turned the paper but found nothing else on just, "curiosity kills the cat". I looked around and I didn't see anyone.
