(Y/N)'s POV
"Hey, cutie." I skipped up to my brunette boyfriend in the mess hall and kissed his cheek.
"Hey." He slowly smiled and gave me a side hug.
"You ready for today's combat training?" I smirked.
"Yeah, can you please tell your brother to chill out about that?" He rolled his eyes, and not in a joking way. Nonetheless, I laughed it off.
"I wish I could." I scratched my head.
"Let's go, brats!" My brother walked out of the mess hall.
"That's not nice." I pouted to him.
"Be quiet." He playfully ruffled my hair. "Pair up and get started."
"Come on, Eren." I grabbed Eren's hand so we could practice but he stayed still.
"I'm gonna pair up with Armin." He stated.
"But we always-"
"I'm gonna. Pair up. With Armin." He glared at me.
"O-Okay..." I sulked back. This has been happening a lot lately. Eren and I used to be great together but for the past few weeks he's been really bipolar. Maybe I should just talk to him already.
"Don't worry about him. He's just a teenage boy." Mikasa said. "You wanna pair up?"
"Sure." I shrugged.
Levi's POV
Tch, what's that brat's problem? I watched as (Y/N) became visibly upset at her boyfriend's actions. Last week she was telling me about his recent actions. I always had a close eye on my baby sister, so I had already noticed what was happening. I just hope it all works out before I have to step in.
(Y/N)'s POV
Mikasa and I both panted after our long training session. Being Ackermans, we were fair game for each other. "Go grab something to eat and take the rest of the day off." Levi said and a few people cheered.
"You should go talk to him now." Mikasa said. I nodded and brushed myself off. Eren was already halfway to the mess hall.
"Eren!" I called out. He stopped for a second and looked back at me before continuing to walk away. "Hey!"
"What?" He groaned.
"Can we talk?" I asked. He sighed and stood in place.
"About what?" He asked.
"U-Um... I was just..." I searched for the right words as he crossed his arms. "I haven't done anything bad, right? We're okay, aren't we?"
"What are you going on about?" He asked.
"It's just... lately you've seemed annoyed with me, and you don't really spend time with me..." I said, looking at the ground. "I was just wondering if I did anything wrong, or if something was going on." He sighed again and pinched his temples.
"You're right. I'm just... stressed." He said. "People keep viewing me as this savior and it's just a lot to handle. I'm sorry." I felt a little relieved but something was telling me he wasn't being totally truthful.
"Okay." I smiled nonetheless and gave him a hug. He put a single hand on my back and said he was going to the mess hall.
Time skip
Over the next few days, nothing really changed. Eren was still acting kind of mean towards me. I thought we could spend time together tonight in town but he said he had experiments with Hanji. So here I am now, on a Friday night, with nothing to do but lay in bed and go over possibilities in my head.
Growing tired of thinking about it all, I left my room and went to Hanji's lab, completely forgetting about the so-called experiments. "Yay! An Ackerman!" Hanji cheered as I came into the room.
"Hey, Hanji." I said.
"What's gotcha down?" She asked. I just shrugged and sat on her couch. "Is it about Eren?"
"How'd you know?" I asked.
"I see everything." She smiled at me creepily.
"O-Okay..." I looked away. "Well, yeah, it is about him." I sighed. "He's just been really distant and rude lately. I don't know what's happened."
"Have you guys been fighting lately?"
"No! We never fight." I said. "We were great, up until a month ago."
"I could talk to him if you want." Hanji offered.
"No thanks, I-" I cut myself off as I remembered something. "Wait, where is Eren? He said he had experiments with you tonight."
"No? That's next week." She said.
"Ugh." I groaned and rubbed my head. "I'm gonna go get some fresh air." I got up and walked to HQ's entrance. The cool night air quickly surrounded me but did nothing to clear my head.
I aimlessly walked around the building until I heard a couple voices. I stopped in my tracks and listened. I know I'm not supposed to be out here either, but still.
"Why don't you just transfer? We could really use you." A feminine, slightly familiar voice said.
"Not yet. Not until the MPs trust me." Another familiar voice responded. Eren?!
"But we could be together more often." The female said. "All you gotta do is dump that useless one."
"I don't have a valid reason." Eren said. "Not yet."
"You love me, that's your reason." I slowly peaked around the corner to find Eren with his arms wrapped around another girl, about to kiss her. Annie?!
"What are you doing?" I slowly stepped out towards them, trying to control my voice.
"(Y/N)?!" Eren exclaimed.
"Is this why you've been so mean lately? Am I really that useless to you?"
"Baby-"
"Don't 'baby' me!" I glared at him. "If you didn't love me, all you had to do was say so!" I wiped a few tears from my eyes. "We're done, Jaeger." I grumbled and quickly walked back to HQ's entrance.
After what felt like forever, I finally made it inside and headed to my room. "(Y/N)?" Someone said. Not now, Levi. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." I grumbled, feelings sadness and depression start to set in.
"I heard you outside." He said. Great, so people already know.
"Just leave me alone." I made it to my room and shut the door. Levi, however, decided to continue following me and sat beside me on my bed. I hunched over and put my head in my hands.
"You need to tell me what's wrong so I can help you." He said softly.
"...Eren cheated on me." I said.
"HE WHAT?!" Levi yelled, making me jump. "I'll kill that kid!"
"What's all the ruckus?" Mikasa walked in.
"Your idiotic brother cheated on my sister!" Levi said, heading for the door.
"Imma kill him." Mikasa's eyes darkened. I may be an Ackerman myself, but what's with all the death threats?
I slowly sank back onto my bed and curled up into a ball, tears streaming down my face and my breathing turning unsteady. Soon enough I heard loud grunts and groans from outside. "You wanna talk about it?" Mikasa was the first to come back in.
"Not really..." I shook my head.
"It wasn't your fault, you know." Mikasa said. "Besides, I think he's learned his lesson by now." I chuckled, still hearing my brother probably torturing Eren with his boot.
"Hey." A soft voice came into the room.
"Hey, Armin." I slightly smiled.
"I brought you a potato." Sasha came in, too. "They always make me feel better."
"Thank you?" I slowly grabbed the potato.
"Now that that's done." Levi came back in and dusted himself off. He came back to the bed and pulled me onto his lap, stroking my back. "You need anything?" He asked.
"Just you guys." I laid my head on his chest.
"We're always here for you." Jean smiled.
"Yeah! Like, 24/9!" Connie said. "Wait. That's not right..."
"7." Christa whispered.
"7!" He corrected himself.
"Thank you." I chuckled and smiled to myself. "All of you."
