She sat under the tree, gazing at the green grass surrounding her. What should he say? She thought. She loved writing stories. This one is based on a vampire fighting for freedom and love. She smiled a little. Ander, the protagonist, is so hopelessly in love. She sighed again in distress.

"Where did all my inspiration go? I had so many ideas! Argh! Blame Sarah for distracting me..." She trailed off, thinking about all the bad things she'd do to her when she meets her again. And, as suddenly as she stopped writing, she picked up her pen again and started inking Ander's words.

'"Did you know that I was worried? Worried that you might've died? Well, technically you did, but that's not the point." I paused for a while, thinking through my words. I didn't want to say the wrong thing, risking our entire friendship all over again. I just wanted her to know how I felt when she fell like that. I chose my next words carefully:

"Harry, listen. I just wish you'd have told me before hand. I feel left out, you know? Because I think you didn't trust me enough to tell me about this major plan. Who knows, maybe we could've come up with an alternate plan that would've been less dangerous, so to say." I said, shrugging my shoulders, my hands in my pockets.

"What if King missed the rope?" I continued, without letting her speak. "What if you slipped a second earlier? What if King couldn't receive the signal? Have you ever thought about what could've have gone wrong? That stupid stunt could've cost your life!"

"STOP! That's enough, Ander." She said, interrupting me, her palm raised in front of my face, asking me to just listen silently. Maybe I should, maybe I shouldn't. But it won't hurt to just listen for once, would it?'

She read the text she wrote again. Yes, this is what he would say, she thought. She took a sip out of her water bottle, relishing the freshness of the water. She put her book back in her satchel and hung the strap over her shoulder. She pocketed her pen and stood up, walking to her BMX, calling it a day. The sun was starting to set over the horizon, as she cycled her way back home.

She is a straight-A student, getting all A's in her A Levels. She was from a small town in Germany, where her family is now. She came to London, to study culinary arts, as she was interested in being a chef. It's been her only dream so far. On the other side, she is a world renowned author of the Number One Bestseller, Fallen Shadows of Darkness. Yeah, that was the second book she was working on, Shattered Pieces of Darkness.

She reached her house, the one she shares with Sarah, and put the cycle in the garage. She went in through the kitchen door, where Sarah was already busy making dinner.

"Starting without me, Flamey?" She asked, washing her hands to clean away the ink stains. Flamey was the name she gave for Sarah.

"Yeah, I'm quite hungry myself. Besides, I eat according to time. Not like you. You eat whenever you want." Sarah said, handing her the chopping board and some vegetables that needed to be chopped.

"Well, don't blame me, blame my job." She sighed, getting started on the carrots, then the cabbages.

"No luck again?" Sarah asked, boiling the water.

"No. What are we having tonight?" She asked, slicing some garlic and shallots.

"Rice and soup. Why were you out so long then?"

"Writing." She said, seeming uninterested in their conversation.

"Not again, Rosalie. You're gonna just waste your time doing that. You should go look for more open spots." Sarah said, taking the chopped items and adding them to the boiling water.

"No, Sarah. I applied to all the places I know, and I didn't have any other interviews today, so... yeah."

"Well, you could've come back home. I was worried you know, you being alone in that park. Not many people go there, mate." She said, adding someone seasoning to the water and bringing it down to a simmer.

"I know. That's why I go there, instead. It's a good place to think. You wanna see the draft? I made a three page progress." Rosalie said, clicking open her satchel.

"No, it's fine. I'll check it out after eating. If I eat any later, I'll probably vomit everything back out because of the increased hunger." Sarah said, setting up the table, placing the rice pot in the middle, with two separate bowls filled with soup. "Dinner, is served, señorita."

"Gracias, mi amigo." Rosalie said, giggling. They both started digging in, blowing the steam away as the food was still hot. "So, how was your day?" She asked, her mouth full.

Sarah swallowed before answering, "Wasn't as bad as yours. A couple of girls called. Said they wanted an interior wallpaper décor with pink ribbons. I think I need your help on this one 'cause you know I'm not that good with ribbons."

"Sure. I don't have any appointments for the forthcoming days. I'll just follow you to work and help you out. Wait – your manager allows your friends in, right?" She asked, finishing her soup with a slurp.

"Yeah, as long as he doesn't know that you're helping me." Sarah said, taking their plates and dropping them into the dishwasher. "I want a dominant guy as a hus--"

"Sarah, we have talked about this so many times."

"But listen Rose, I met this guy today. He came in with those girls you know." She sighed, looking forlorn. Rosalie just sighs as she stares at her friend.

"Well dominant guys are always like that. You can't complain." She said while cleaning up.

"But a girl can dream!" Sarah exclaimed while looking up, thinking about her love life. "Well, you tell me Rose. What do you want your guy to be like, hmm?" She asked, grinning at her friend.

Rosalie glanced at her friend and gave Sarah a wide-but-naughty grin "Oh you know me since middle school. Responsible, tall, understanding." Rosalie describes as she fingers the hem of her clothes. She paused and then said, "Well, I want him to be nice and kind too. Then, he has to be smart and intelligent. After that- YES! He has to be cute obviously."

Sarah rolls her eyes, exasperated by her friends answer. "Oh my god, Rosalie, your taste never changed since 9th grade. Always the same type of guy." She says as she walks to her room. "I still remember you liked our senior!" Sarah exclaimed and observed her friend's reaction. "Don't remind be about him!" Rosalie yelled, glaring at her friend for a moment there.

"Yeah yeah yeah, but if you keep targeting the same guy, eventually he is going to flash in your mind." Sarah explains. Sarah knew Rosalie from the day they met at the canteen. Always targeting for the smart and responsible guys. "I wonder what happened to that guy after middle school." Sarah asked as she wrote some stuff.

"I-" She was about to say that she did in fact knew but decided against it. "I don't know..."

Sarah eyed her friend, being friends with Rosalie for almost 10 years, she knew her very well. "Are you sure Ro-chan? Really you don't know what's up with him?" Sarah walks towards Rosalie.

Rosalie looks away. "Yeah, I- I don't." It's not that she didn't trust her best friend. She just didn't want to create more problems. "Really? Cause' I feel like you're not telling me something." Sarah whispered as eyed Rosalie. It's not that she wanted to know about Rosalie's crush or anything; she just wanted to tease the girl. Sarah knew very well Rosalie won't take note about her crushes.

"He got engaged okay?!?" She yelled, at her friend, even though she didn't mean to. Her heart already broke the day she heard the news. Repeating it to her friend was the hard part. It felt like reliving her worst nightmare over and over again.

Sarah shot her eyes wide open, devastated by the news she just got. "O-oh, really? I didn't know that....the 00' batch didn't know about this..." Sarah says as her words trail off. The brunette saw the hurt in Rosalie's eyes as she told her about the engagement. Sarah never knew about the engagement, never taking note about her seniors. "Dude, I'm sorry." Sarah apologized, feeling bad.

Rosalie tried to smile, ignoring the pain building up, and tears threatening to fall. "It's okay, Sarah. It happened already. No point crying over spilt milk, right?" She paused, sucking in a breath and said, "There won't be anyone like him, right?"

Sarah pursed her lips, she thinks of the words she's going to say to her friend, afraid that the words coming out could give out more damage. She stood there in silence as she hears Rosalie soft words. She gave her a hug. "There will be people like that you know, but if you are destined with someone like him, then it's your choice to let it go because of the past or embrace it."

"I have to let him go right. I have to let him be happy because I'd rather see him happy than him suffering. That's love, ain't it?" She asked, returning her friends hug, crying on her shoulder.

She patted her friends back, knowing that she's the only one Rosalie could go to."That's true. That's love. But do remember, god is removing something from yourself to prepare something bigger for you." Sarah whispers those words to Rosalie, hoping that it could at least calm her heart.

"He already did. Your friendship, and well, my books." She smiled. "I don't think I will ever marry. It's what I wanted from the beginning anyway. At least I don't have to bother about my parents anymore, seeing as how the technically disowned me..."

"Hey, you followed your heart and interests. There's nothing wrong with that."

"Well, not enough to convince my parents eh?"

"You chose what's best for you. What if you regret becoming an astronomer once you actually are in space? And then some catastrophe happens and you're trapped in orbit, drifting around? You can't help regretting it then can you? At least here, I know you're safe somewhere on land." She smiled, placing a comforting on her friend's shoulder.

"You're right. I know you care about me Sarah, but, you know, when you get married, you're going to have to take care of your family. There will come a point where it's them or me. What will you do then?"

"Even if I'm busy with my family, doesn't mean I won't give a shit about you." Sarah said with an exasperated sigh. She didn't know what to advice to Rosalie after hearing that.

Rosalie smiled after hearing that. "Well, young lady. I think it's time for bed. You better go sleep now before you wake up late for work."

Sarah flashed a smile and nodded. She couldn't say anything after that conversation, afraid that what she said might hurt her friend or have no effect on Rosalie. The brunette took her mug of hot milk and straight away walked to her room, hoping for a good night rest.

Rosalie went up to her own room, and laid on the bed fully-clothed, too tired to change and immediately drifted off.
