Hold On

"Don't leave me," I heard a voice in the eerie blackness.

"Don't leave me, don't leave," the voice came louder, more urgent.

"Don't leave me, don't leave me, don't leave me," the feel of slick, wet blood beneath my fingers as I clenched and unclenched my fist.

"Hold on, I've got you". Then I realised... Who's the voice that was speaking earlier was.

"I'm not leaving, hold on!"

It was my own.
