He was staring at the beautiful woman who held his heart as she stared at her two friends. She held a sad expression all over her face. But still she looked as beautiful as ever. It wasn't her appearance that had drawn Sasuke towards her. It was her innocence and kindness that made her beautiful.
He was still staring at her, he couldn't seem to look away from her. He was waiting for her answer, although deep down he knew what her answer would be. She still loved him.
Sasuke saw her turn and he braced himself to hear it. But as soon as she turned, something hit them with a great force. He found himself being thrown across the street as everything around him went flying back with him.
For a second, he found himself being completely deaf and blind as his ears made an eerie sound and his vision was blocked by the smoke and dust.
He felt a sharp pain in his left arm as he stood up and took a look around him. Everything was destroyed. The shops and houses in that area were knocked down by the explosion. He saw bodies laying motionless around him, he heard agony cries all around him.
He then looked frantically around him to find his friends. He moved ahead as he tried to find the blue-haired kunoichi. His heart started to beat fast in his chest as fear crept into him at the possibility of Hinata being injured or worse...
He shook his head as he called out to her. "Hinata!"
"Hinata!"
He yelled her name again. He then saw Naruto. He had a protective arm around Sakura as he helped her up. They had minor injuries, nothing serious. He then again yelled her name again.
"Hinata!"
A movement caught his eye and he looked toward it and he found Hinata lying on the ground as she tried to get up but couldn't. He jumped toward her, "Hinata."
He crouched down and looked at her with a concern. "Are you alright?"
He asked as he helped her up.
She winced at the movement and said, "My head..."
Sasuke rested a hand behind her head as he said, "Come on. I am taking you to Sakura. She can heal you." He said in a steady voice.
She shook her head, "No. I am a-alright... We should help the civilians."
"You are bleeding," he gritted out.
"And you too." At that, he said nothing.
Hinata smiled at him to assure him that she was alright. But he didn't seem assured at all. But nonetheless, he sighed and took her hand to help her up. She muttered a 'thank you' and started helping the civilians.
Sasuke was worried about her but he knew that she could handle herself and other ninjas also showed up to help as well. So he then left her there to search for Naruto and others. He didn't want to leave her there but he had to find out what caused that explosion. He had some doubts about who might be behind this.
He tried to sense that ominous chakra but he sensed nothing. He didn't even sense anything when the explosion happened. He then sensed Naruto nearby and headed in his direction.
He landed beside him. He was currently talking with Kakashi. Shikamaru and his wife, Temari was also there. When Sasuke arrived there, Naruto said to him, "Do you sense anything?"
"No."
Naruto's brows furrowed as he said, "Where are they? The explosion couldn't happen on its own."
Naruto looked around him. Kakashi was busy giving orders to ninjas to search the entire village and its outskirts, and to go and tend to the villagers. Temari had already gone to Sakura in order to help the injured.
Everything was still in chaos when suddenly someone landed in front of them, a few feet away.
Everyone became alert at that and took out their kunai knives in front of them. But Naruto and Sasuke stood unfazed.
When the dust cleared a man in white stood their as he stared at Naruto.
Kinshiki Otsutsuki.
Another presence was sensed and they looked up. A man was levitating in the air, an amused expression was playing on his face. He was an Otsutsuki judging by his appearance.
He looked down at Naruto and said in an amused tone, "I've finally found you." He came down and stood beside Kinshiki.
They stared at Naruto and Sasuke with grim expressions.
"Are you related to Kaguya Otsutsuki!?" Naruto demanded but they ignored him as the unknown Otsutsuki turned to his partner.
"It seems there are some lowly and filthy creatures in the way."
"Shall I clean up the area first?" Kinshiki said in a respected tone to his partner.
"Sure..."
"Wha---" before Naruto could say anything, Kinshiki summoned his red chakra as it graced his finger tips and plunged into the ground with full force. The ground shook and a shock wave sent everyone flying back but Naruto and Sasuke stood their ground.
The impact of the shock wave was so great that the surrounding areas were completely obliterated with people screaming and running for their lives. The other ninjas protected them as they evacuated the area.
Kinshiki made his move but he stopped mid way as if couldn't move anymore, neither could his partner. Their bodies were covered with black shadow as it held them in place.
"Don't think that you'll ever get away...," came a lazy voice but with a hint of seriousness.
Shikamaru stood behind them as he controlled them with his technique. But not for long as the other Otsutsuki activated his rinnegan which was implanted in his hand and absorbed the shadow with ease.
Shikamaru was shocked, "What!?"
"How foolish," he said as he sucked the chakra into his rinnegan.
"These are the guys I talked about. They are after the chakra fruit. In other words, the tailed beasts and the one inside you. Kaguya was making the white Zetsus for them."
"You know a lot," the unknown Otsutsuki mused as Kinshiki came beside him. "I am Momoshiki Otsutsuki. I belong to the same clan as Kaguya."
"And I am his guardian, Kinshiki Otsutsuki."
"What do you want?" asked Naruto.
"You."
Then he started to explain his motive of coming here. He wanted the chakra of tailed beasts and Kurama which was inside Naruto so that they could revive the divine tree. And with that they will be able to make the chakra pills which will make them strong and give them the true power. Naruto then disagreed saying that they are merely cowards who rely on tools and drugs.
At Naruto's words, Momoshiki scoffed and said, "They are filthy humans after all. Come, Kinshiki."
With that they went up in the air and Momoshiki swallowed the pill he was talking about. He held out his hand as a giant beast bomb was formed with his hand with all the elements encircling it.
"Lets end this quickly and take the fox." he said with an evil smile on his lips. He then attacked as Sasuke and Naruto braced themselves for the attack.
He attacked with fire and the one side of the surrounding area was completely destroyed. When the dust cleared, Naruto had activated his nine-tails chakra mode and blocked his attack as he also protected the nearby civilians and ninjas.
Momoshiki didn't seem fazed at all, he just continued with attacks, with a twisted expression on his face and laughing. Naruto tried to block the attacks but his chakra mode started to fade.
"Use my chakra too." Sasuke said as he activated his susano and merged with Naruto's nine-tails chakra.
Momoshiki continued laughing and said as he kept attacking, "Lets see how long you will last!"
Meanwhile, a worried Hinata kept running through the panic streets as she jumped from place to place to reach her destination quickly. She kept running as she chanted only one sentence over and over again in her mind.
Please be safe! Please be safe! Please be safe!
A chill went down her spine when she felt their presence while she was still helping the injured villagers. And then, soon came the shock wave from the same direction Sasuke had gone to. She was sure that they were after Naruto and Sasuke was with him. She also was sure about that they could handle themselves very well, that he could handle himself very well. But she couldn't stop worrying as she remembered their encounter with those otherworldly beings.
So she left everything and made her way to where they were. She wanted to be by his side as soon as possible. She wanted to help him, make sure he was safe. She didn't know why she was feeling this way or why her heart told her to go to him, and worry about him. She just knew one thing that she needed to be with him. And in that moment, she realized that she might never be able to let him go. Ever.
She could see her friends as she came closer. They both were looking up at the two people above them. She then sensed another chakra but before she could do anything someone came behind her and kicked her in the face.
She stumbled back but didn't fall. She wiped the blood from her nose and her lips as she looked at the man in front of her. A wave of fear washed down her body. Another one? She didn't know there were three of them.
There was no doubt about it. He was also an Otsutsuki. His skin tone, his clothing, his eyes and those horns.
Hinata gritted her teeth and took her fighting stance as she demanded in a firm voice, "Who are you and what do you want?"
He laughed and said, "I am Urashiki Otsutsuki. You see, I sensed a great amount of chakra coming from this way. By chakra, I don't mean the fools behind us." He said in a jovial manner as he smirked at her.
But his smirk grew as he eyed her and said, "I'm here because I want your chakra, Byakugan Princess."
Hinata's eyes widened as she said, "How do you know me?"
He grinned, "Little Toneri was so worried about you when I ended his life. I really didn't know who he was talking about but now I know. You are the one Hamura bestowed his powers upon. You don't only have his chakra, right? You've more than that... And I want it."
Hinata pursed her lips in a thin line but she was shaking with fear inside. Hinata activated her byakugan and twin lion fists as if challenging him to attack her. His smirk turned in a twisted smile as he summoned his chakra and turned it into a hook. He attacked her with his hook, aiming straight to her heart but Hinata already saw through his attack and dodged it easily despite it coming with lightning speed.
Urashiki looked fascinated as he again attacked her with his hook and this time Hinata used her technique: Rotation. A purple ball of chakra formed around her and engulfing her as the hook bounced back. Urashiki laughed in amusement.
He really was enjoying himself. He then jumped and made himself float in air as he attacked with sand just like the Kazekage, hardening the sand into a rock. Hinata used her twin lion fists and broke the rock into pieces. When he was still in the air, Hinata jumped and attacked him mid air with twin lion fists.
He dodged it easily and laughed, "I can see your moves! You won't get away, Princess!" He used sand and morphed it into a giant hand. It hit Hinata and she went to the ground. Her head spun but she made herself stand. She saw his hook coming her way so she made a move to dodge it again but her head throbbed. She yelled in pain as the hook plunged into her right arm.
"Oops, I missed," he clicked his tongue in fake disappointment as he neared Hinata's heaving form. She gritted her teeth as she took out the hook but she stumbled to the ground as if her chakra was drained.
Urashiki grinned at Hinata as he came near her and was about to retrieve his hook when HInata suddenly stood up and yelled, "Eight Trigrams sixty-four palms!"
Urashiki was taken by surprise as it hit his chakra points and went flying across the field where Sasuke and Naruto had already activated their moves. She looked at her enemies and saw that one of the Otsutsuki was making a giant ball that seemed to come out of his hand. The man continued to attack with every element that encircled the giant ball. Hinata couldn't get closer because of the shock waves and Sasuke's susano was almost broken.
When Naruto saw that Momoshiki was making another but ten times bigger black ball than before, he turned to Sasuke and said with a smile, "Take care of the village, Sasuke. Tell Sakura-chan that I am sorry."
Sasuke remained silent for a moment but then nodded his head and said, "I understand."
Naruto smirked and called out to Kurama to use his full power. The giant form of Kurama appeared and tried to hold back the incoming attack. Kurama engulfed the giant ball with his tails to protect the village around him. As he was doing this, a movement to his right caught Sasuke's attention. When he turned his to look, his heart stopped dead inside his chest. There she was, panting and heaving, her eyes wide with fear as their eyes met.
"Get bac---" he was cut off as the world around them exploded and he was blinded by the sudden explotion. Hinata too couldn't see anything and found herself being thrown away. She fell to the ground, her whole body ached by the impact. She saw Urashiki approaching her as he grinned at her.
"Urashiki." Came a familiar voice, a commanded voice. "Lets go. We got the fox."
Urashiki clicked his tongue in annoyance but then gave Hinata a twisted smile and began to say something but before Hinata could hear anything, she lost her consciousness.
