i run down my stairs and ask dad the question i've asked him all day, "when's maddie coming?"
he sighs and looks at me, "sweetie, i don't know. she just said she's coming today. that's it"
i sit down beside him on the couch and we have a genuine conversation in so long. it felt nice.
"uh dad?" i ask nervously while playing with my bracelet.

"you have one minute" she sits in her bed and crosses her arms. she pauses her music.
"i'm so so sorry maddie, you-you're the most important person to me in my life. i love you. i made a very selfish mistake and i regret it so much. you're moving soon and i want to spend all the time you have with you. please forgive me, i'm sorry. so so so-"
"shut up" she says.
"ok sorry, but your leaving and do you really wanna waste the time that we have left with eachother being mad?"
"ok ok now shut up, you're being too emotional" she throws the tissue box at me.
"so, you forgive me?" i sit on the end of her bed.
