out of control
pounding, coursing
through my body
untameable
uncontrollable
there is no stopping it
as you lean in close

pulling away
look to my shoes
when i look back up
you're leaning close again
you're eyes are closing
and i don't know what to do

blood hot on my cheeks
until i feel myself meeting you halfway
and halfway doesn't feel as much like a compromise
but perhaps a gain
except then i leave
