Shuanghui POV
I groan moving my hand to the back of my head flinching from the pain "that bastard" I growled before looking around the room quietly, sitting up in the bed I had been placed on, "Tang!" I shouted as I get up opened the door and walked out of the room, I headed down the stairs opposite the room. the place seemed rather empty, there was a room to the right it had a couch and a large screened TV, the next room was a small dining room and the opposite was a kitchen, I frown and try opening the front door but it doesn't open "TANG!" I shouted again, before kicking the door, I froze hearing the soft sound of a bark coming from upstairs
I head up the stairs to the room the barking came from "shhh Xing" I heard coming from inside when I open the door my eyes go wide seeing Mengrui on the bed his hands were tied behind his back and he had a blindfold on, he was lay on the bed, he heads turned towards the door when I moved a little, Xing barked at me but I was to busy staring at Mengrui in shock "who's there?" he questioned worry in his tone "let me go" his voice was shaking
I quickly went over to him hearing the shakiness of his voice pulling the blindfold from him "shit, sorry, what are you doing here" I questioned him, his eyes were full of fear until they landed on me
his look went from scared to relief, then to anger "how the hell am I meant to know, I answered the door and next thing I know I'm waking up tied and blindfolded" he growled out at me, "just get me out of here" his voice was still shaky but he sounded angry
I quickly undid the ties and helped him up off the bed, he looked scared and quickly ran down the stairs, I followed after him, he went to the front door and was trying desperately to open it "It's locked" I wrapped my arms around him as he looked more worried and scared, he was shaking his head almost in tears "hey it's ok"
He shook his head more "no, no it's not, I need to go home, my mother, I need to go to my ma" he stuttered out "she... she's not well, she just" he let out a sob and I pulled him closer to me
"she'll be fine Xiao Rui, she has your father with her, and these idiots that probably did this wouldn't have let her get upset" I stroke away from the tear that fell "I'll kill them for us when they come and get us, I'll kill them just for upsetting you and making you cry"
"I want to call my ma," he said searching through his pockets with a frown "You know who did this?" he said looking at me with a hopeful look
I nodded "I have a feeling I know who it is because I only know two idiots that would come up with a plan as stupid as this to me, that " I explained then looked around a little, I leave him by the door with Xing by his side, he sat down stroking him, I went into the living room glancing around, narrowing my eyes at a small note under a potted plant, I pick it up and frown "to Xiao Kong and Didi" I mutter reading the outside of the note "Xiao Rui" I call and he walks in with Xing looking at me "the idiots did this," I said holding out the note.
He takes the note and opens it before reading "Dear Kong Mengrui, and Li Shuanghui, this little note is to tell you we have kidnapped you both and locked you into your new home, well it's your Christmas gift Shuanghui, also a lovely home for a lovely couple" he looked calm while reading, I leant against the wall watching him, half listening to the note "also you both are miserable as hell without each other and this was done for your good, staring blankly at your phone all day Shuanghui it won't call him unless you press the button and don't you...." he stopped and looked at me for a moment before I saw his eyes scan over a few more words and he continued reading "we will pick you up tomorrow for Christmas dinner, you both have a suit in the rooms you woke up in so please make sure you are ready a little before 12, there is a clock above the TV if you haven't noticed since we took your phones because we want you both spending time together, p.s. you can thank us later love from Kaihan Gege and Kuanwo Gege, also Juanshou helped to make sure we didn't mess up, have fun see you tomorrow" he said, he looked at the paper slightly pissed off before handing it over to me
I take it and sigh "yup, I'll kill them" he sat down on the sofa with Xing jumping up beside him, he cuddled Xing with a sigh "are you alright, they didn't hurt you did they" He shook his head, a worried look still on his face "worried about your ma?" he nodded and I sat beside him "I'm sure she will be fine, since Juanshou was involved he probably explained it to her, and you got Xing which means that she probably suggested it since they wouldn't have thought about bringing him"
I put my arm around him slowly and he leant against me, still stroking Xing, he nodded slightly "ma know I won't leave Xing" I shifted on the seat a little and pulled him between my legs as he leaned against my chest waiting for him to continue "I found Xing as a puppy, like a really little puppy, he wasn't white then, he was muddy, I heard a whimper and a bark and there was a mother dog she had 3 pups, she was desperately nudging the other two but they weren't responding to her, but Xing he was still alive, just about.... the mother didn't make it after they got her to the vets, she had internal bleeding or something, from giving birth, the vets hand raised him with a little help of another dog but she couldn't help much when Xing was old enough to be adopted out the vet let me know, so I told my Ma and she said I could keep him, he'll be a year old in 3 months" he rubbed the top of Xing's head as Xing nuzzled against him
I smiled and stroked Xing as well "you love him a lot don't you" Mengrui nodded and I smiled, we sat here for a while he just sat in my lap as I held him, truth is I missed him, I missed being near him, but since I found out my father handed them the divorce papers I didn't want to know if he'd leave or give it ago, I was afraid of either answer, I let out a soft sigh laying my head into his shoulder, he shuffled a little but didn't move away
It was quiet, I swear I could fall asleep holding him like this "are you going to be ok, staying with us, locked in here" I lifted my head to look at him, he looked up at me "since you being allergic to" he looked at Xing
I chuckled and shrugged "I'll be fine, my allergy isn't serious, I just come out is a small rash where I have been licked, it won't kill me just a bit irritating" I smile at him and he smiles back, I clear my throat looking away from him "are you hungry?"
"If I say no would you believe me?" I look at him and he's got an eyebrow raised and I chuckle, he sits up allowing me to get up out of the seat, he lays back down and turns the TV on and I walk out of the room to cook
I finish cooking and put 2 plates of food on the table in the small dining room "food's ready" I call, I poke my head from the dining room after not getting a response "Xiao Rui?" I said before walking into the living room, leaning over the couch I see Mengrui asleep and I shake my head before reaching down and stroking his cheek Xiao Rui, come on don't sleep yet" I stare at him for a moment, he always looks peaceful when asleep "Xiao Rui" I sigh, Xing lets our a bark and I pick Xing up from him holding Xing in my arms, he was bigger than the last time I held him but he wasn't too big for me to carry "Xiao Rui, Xiao Xing needs feeding" I say sternly and Xing barks out some more, Mengrui's eyes flutter open and he turns on his back to look up at the both of us and I smile at him Xiao Xing needs feeding, and so do you" I say at the sleepy-looking boy
He gets up stretching and yawning making his way out of the living room, I guide him to the kitchen after putting Xing down passing him the dog food, he takes it and puts it in a small bowl on the floor "thank you" he mumbles standing up to look at me, I take him over to the sink and wash his hands before leading him to the dining room where our food is, sitting him down on one of the seats, he stares sleepily at the food, "what time is it" he mumbled out sleepily rubbing his eyes before slowly eating
I shrugged "I don't know, the clock is in the other room, you're the one with the watch since a certain idiot knocked me out before I got a chance to put it on" I grinned at him and he stared at me before pulling up his sleeves a frown formed on his face as he remembered something
"I didn't put a watch on today, I didn't take one to Dianfa's with me either I had my phone and they have clocks in almost every room," he said before eating some more food, he tilted his head looking at me "They knocked you out?"
I looked at him and smiled "eat up" tilting my head, he was unusually talkative
He put his chopsticks down after taking another bite and folding his arms on the table "you're kind you know, you look rough but your kind, that's all I know about you Shuanghui, and it's irritating that I don't know more about you" I can still hear the tiredness in his voice
I sigh knowing he's going to ask about me, he opens his mouth to ask me something and I shove some food into his mouth quickly before he can "are we swapping personalities or something, I didn't think you were the talkative type"
he glared at me eating what was in his mouth before speaking "I just, you know more about me than I do about you, so I was just...."
I put some more food in his mouth and sighed "trying to get to know me?" I questioned already knowing the answer before he nodded his head to my question "we can talk after you have eaten"
he put "and if I don't eat then what?" he challenged me, a slight smirk on his face
I grinned at him shaking my head "then I'll feed you" holding some more food towards him on my chopsticks, he opened his mouth letting me put the food in his mouth then sat back in his chair folding his arms across his chest "what?"
"you have to eat too, I'm full" he huffed out and I nod eating my food, he looked at Xing as Xing came into the room, I ate my food as he petted his dog, cleaning up when I finished
Mengrui stayed at the table while I washed up, when I came back in he was almost falling asleep at the table but was fighting it the best he can, I chuckled softly "you should go the sleep you seem tired Xiao Rui"
He shook his head and glared at me like he knew I was trying to get out of talking "no way, you said we could talk and so we are going to talk, you are going to answer my questions that I ask" standing up to glare at me more
I shook my head at him before laughing a little "I did, but I'm not going to repeat myself if you forget it because you are too tired"
He shook his head at me and rubbed his eyes "I never forget what I learn, except cooking, I can't learn cooking it always goes wrong, I won't forget what you tell me"
I bit my lip before giving in and nodding to him "fine, but if you forget don't blame me" I turned and walk out of the dining room and head up the stairs, him and Xing following close behind, I open the door I found him in, "sit, lay, get comfy, we doing it in here so if you fall asleep I don't have to carry you upstairs with a dog around my feet, I'll answer whatever you ask me.... mostly" mumbling the last part"
Mengrui nodded and climbed into the bed, helping Xing up, he lay down and pulled the cover over himself and frowned at me as I leant against the wall by the door watching him "you look like you are ready to run away" he said and I rolled my eyes and smiled at him "you won't run will you?" I shook my head, not as I had anywhere to run since we are both locked in, he stared at me almost as if he was trying to figure something out, "how old are you?" he asked
I tilted my head at the question, honestly thinking he'd ask something else, I frown "you don't know my age?" he shook his head and I sigh "is all you know about me since we met that I piss off my father and a bit of an asshole?" he nodded and I sighed "I'm 28, you are 21 right?" and he nodded
We did a few simple questions about our likes and dislikes before he got fed up of staring at me leaning against the wall "I don't like the fact you look ready to run, sit down with me" I sighed and walked over to him, he shifted over to the other side of the bed and I sat down next to him, he looked up at me and I smiled nervously at him, last time we shared a bed he was asleep first, he'd been asking questions for the last hour I had expected him to fall asleep already but he hadn't, he stared at me for a moment "where did you learn to cook?"
I stared at him then looked away "I did a culinary class in college, after taking an interest in my mother's cooking, I did art too however the only people who know I can cook are now your Ma, Dianfa and his sister, you and Kuanwo, and everyone who shows up at his club the days I cook, and the people that where in Kuanwo's group when I was in the army, my family don't know"
"Why don't your family know?" he asks laying on his side watching me
I gave him a soft smile and sighed "my mother likes her place in the kitchen, she doesn't like anyone else cooking or touching the kitchen so I never cooked for them, never needed to, I doubt my father would eat anything I cook anyway, he'd probably think I poisoned it or something" I pull the covers upon him, he looked ready to sleep "if you want to know more you can ask another time, you really should sleep now"
He frowned at me but nodded, I went to get up but he grabbed my shirt and I looked at him raising an eyebrow, he looked nervous "stay with me he said quietly, I almost didn't hear him "I don't want to be alone" he mumbled before looking away from me trying to hide the small blush that crept on his cheek "stay till I fall asleep at least"
I nod slowly, stroking a strand of hair from his face "yeah, alright I'll stay" I looked towards the window as he closed his eyes, I sat quietly for half an hour before looking down at the sleeping figure beside me "you asleep Xiao Rui?
He hardly moved at me calling to see if he was awake, his face was turned away from me so I couldn't see it, after getting no response I slowly started to get up, only the grip on my shirt stopped me, I turned to look at Xiao Rui hand as saw him looking towards me "are you going to sleep on the floor if I let you go" he mumbled
I frowned at him slightly "why? Xiao Rui go back to sleep,"
He shook his head and sat up "lay down" he demanded with a glare and I shook my head at him "lay down Shuanghui!" he said more demanding this time, I sighed and lay down on the bed next to him, he pulled some of the covers over me and lay next to me "go to sleep" he huffed
I looked at him and smiled "you go to sleep too" he glared at me some more before closing his eyes, his grip not loosening on my top, I watch him for a moment before looking up at the ceiling closing my eyes in the attempt to sleep
