"GRACE! LETS GO!"
I hear my dad yell from the down stairs of our spacious house .
"Okay dad!" I say in laughter.
"We need to be at the studio by ten. I have a meeting with a boy were signing to our label. So hurry!" He says.
I run down stairs and grab an apple from our kitchen. Then head out the door with my dad.
Well my step dad. He's practically my father so I just call him dad. He's definitely filled the role.
Ever sense I was a kid I never really had good father figure to look up to. My real dad was a complete jerk and wanted nothing to do with me and my two other brothers. My mom wanted to divorce the man. She just never had the money to do so. Until one day when she met my step dad, James McFarly. Who happened to be one of the biggest music producers in Los Angeles. When my step dad met her, he fell in love and offered to pay for the divorce so they could be together. One year later, they where married in Hawaii on my moms birthday. Kind of a Cheesy story. But I'm great full for it.
" Hey I'm going to need you to do me a favor." My dad said as he pulled up to the parking garage under his recording studio.
"Yeah sure what?" I said.
"Can you practice your new song you wrote in studio B instead of studio A today. I have this boy coming in and we're going to sign him and he said he has some song ideas to show us. So I thought he could in the bigger studio."
"Yeah that's cool with me". I said while texting back my best friend Casey.
"Oh crap!" I said.
"What?" my dad replied.
"I forgot to get my guitar."I said in disappointment.
"Oh it's okay, you can just use one we have at the studio." He said.
"Okay thanks" I said with a smile.
As we parked and walking into the lobby, I said hi to the receptionist. Who had become a familiar face to me sense I've been coming to the studio every Saturday for the past year. Me and my dad are working on getting me noticed, so that way when I come out with an album, I'll have a pretty decent sized fan base so I can get more album sells. So far, it's going great. I'm already at 978k on Instagram. Also I've been performing at local places when I can. Sense I am also the captain of my hip hop team, which I do with my best friend Casey.
Here's a little about Casey.
Casey and I met in the 9th grade at our company's hip hop company's tryouts. We where both really nervous, sense only 12 people made it on the team we where trying out for. Once we started taking, it seemed like the conversations never ended. And it's been the same way ever sense.
"Studio B" I said to myself while walking into a room I've never seen before.
It was a small studio room with dark gray walls and a long line of glass windows separating the never ending row of buttons and a mike with a barstool. I open the door to the area with the mike and stared to sing some song I've been writing.
It seem like I had only been there for a few hours, but when I checked my phone it was already 10pm. I jumped out of the stool and hung up my guitar on the hook behind me and rushed down to the lobby making sure that my dad hadn't already left.
