Cadence's POV
I check my reflection in the mirror for one final time
Hair, check
Shoes, check
Uniform, check
Mm, everythings perfect and now it's finally time to head off
"You sure have grown up fast Cadence, mommy is going to cry~"
Lady Lena says in a teasing manner
I smile at her brightly and run into her warm, familiar embrace
[ "I'll be home soon, bye Mommy!" ]
I tell Lady Lena, before kissing her cheek and proceeding to follow Anne to the extravagant carriage outside
Sitting inside already, is Allycia and Claira
The crimson dress suits them very well with it's with its gold ribbon, white collars and long sleeves
As usual they excluded a certain air of elegance and grace that all girls would certainly envy
[ "Cadence, you've finally arrived!" ]
Allycia says cheerfully
After 5 years of our friendship, I am finally able to differ the twins without the need of them wearing different hairstyles or gowns
I've also grown much more comfortable and confident with the two of them
[ "Are you ready to leave Cadence?" ]
I nod in response
Five years have passed, and I am now ten years old meaning that I am to begin schooling at the academy
Today will be mine, Allycia and Claira's very first day there
In my last life, I was too sick to attend school everyday so I'm somewhat excited and nervous about it
Although I'm a bit afraid of being surrounded by so many unfamiliar faces, i'll be fine since I won't be alone
Father had already told me that he had arranged for the three of us to be in the same class
Thank goodness for that, I wouldn't know what to do otherwise!
The carriage is moving, and the three of us are having idle chatter and conversations
The both of them won't stop cuddling me, and obssesing over "how adorable~♡" I look...
Sigh... they just havent changed in all these years
But seriously, we are all the same age so why am I the only one who gets called cute and adorable?
Just because I may be a little smaller and shorter than them, it's not fair!
I know I still have time, but I hope puberty treats me well in the future and gives me at least 10cm in height...
[ "My Ladies, we have arrived at the academy" ]
The driver informs us
Already? The trip was a lot quicker than I initially thought
I peered out the window to take a look at the school
A large, multi story, beige bricked building with concrete pathways and multiple banners with decorated with the School's bright red logo
I was quite impressed with the exterior and beautifully decored gardens
It looked exactly like it belonged in some fantasy novel
Well, here goes nothing...
We thank the driver as he helps to escort all of us out of the carriage
The academy grounds were bubbling with students of all faces, heights and genders
It seemed that all eyes were on us, perhaps it was because of the large royal logo that was on our carriage
Their gazes made me feel nervous, but luckily Allycia and Claira were there to calm me down
How I wish I could be as socially capable as them...
Oh, something seems different about their uniforms though?
[ "Allycia, Claira, why is it that majority of the students wear plain white bows, but ours are gold with a ruby in the middle?" ]
The pair looked shocked at my inquire
[ "Oh you don't know, our bows are what separate the classes" ]
Replies Allycia
[ "Plain white are students that are of children of merchants, commoners, knights and low ranking nobles" ]
[ "The gold with ruby are the children of ministers, high ranking nobles and royalty" ]
Claira continues
Oh so this school had such a system? I guess even here you can't escape the social hierarchy
[ "Come, let's go Cadence~" ]
[ "A-alright" ]
I follow the twins who somehow seem to know there way quite well
We're walking through a hallway, when I suddenly crash into a girl, ultimately causing us both to tumble down
Since it was the corner we were both unaware of the other's precense
The girl looked to be around the same age as us and had a very fierce and strong beauty with her
dark red curls and sharp eyes
Her face and features reminded me greatly of the third wife, but it couldn't be one of the princess's
If I recall correctly, none of the children in the royal family have dark hair or red for that matter
Her ribbon is the same as mine meaning that she must hold some sort of high rank
Allycia and Claira both help me up from the ground
[ "You- how dare you bump into me!" ]
The girl shouts at me
I can tell that Claira and Allycia are both annoyed with her attitude and words
They seem like they're about to say something but I stop them and give them an "I'm fine" look
[ "I-I'm terribly sorry, it was an accident..." ]
I apologize meekly
Great, the first day and I am already caught up in girl conflict...
The twins seemed unable to stay quiet as they in the end did say something
[ "Pardon me, but you are Miss Antanelle Astorn correct? I recognise your face from a few social gatherings" ]
Although the twins are smiling, they're clearly giving off a very hostile look
It's the first time I've seen them like this and somehow it's a bit... cool...
[ "Hmph, and who are you?" ]
Antanelle replies with a haughty look
This just seems to fume the anger of the twins
[ "My name is Allycia Vanair, this is my younger twin sister Claira" ]
Her words seem to bring a shock to Antanelle, but it quickly transforms to a sneer and taunting smirk
[ "You're the prime ministers daughters? Hmph and what of it? My father is an arch duke, I am of no less status than you two" ]
To my suprise the twins giggle joyfully in response
[ "Indeed we are, but is it not a bit improper to speak to the Princess like that?" ]
Claira replies gracefully
Antanelles eyes narrow as she crosses her arm
[ "H-hey Allycia, Claira it's alright so can we please go..?" ]
I tug their sleeves and ask timidly
I don't want to make enemies on the first day of school!
The twins sense my fear and let out a sigh
[ "Okay, let us head off then. Farewell, Miss Antanelle" ]
Without waiting for a response, the twins drag me right past her
Phew, finally that confrontation is over...
I pray that the rest of the day runs through smoothly...
