The next day, Steven felt worse. He thought maybe talking to Connie last night helped but it didn't. He couldn't shake the feeling that something felt wrong. He was laying in bed watching TV when Pearl came to check on him
"Steven, are you okay?"
He replied in a very melancholy tone. "I'm fine." Pearl knew he was lying but she shrugged it off
"Well I'm going to help Lapis clean out Greg's van." Steven just nodded his head and didn't say a word. Pearl quietly walked out the front door and headed to where Greg's van is
Greg took notice and waved at her. "Hey Pearl. How's Steven?"
She sighed. "I don't know. This is very confusing for me. I don't have a good enough understanding of human emotions to help him. I'm just tired." Pearl put her hands over her eyes and slouched against the van
"Like tired tired? Or just...tired?"
Pearl looked at Greg in confusion. ".......what?"
Suddenly Lapis popped up from the other side of the van. "I can help you." Pearl stumbled back out of surprise
"What were you even doing back there?!"
"I was cleaning. And eavesdropping. Anyway, I think I have a solution for you. Have you tried sleeping? It helps me." Lapis put her arm around Pearl's neck
"Yes I have tried it and no I'm not doing it again. Last time, Steven had me try it and...........let's just say that it didn't go well." Pearl shoved Lapis off her and turned her back towards her. "So no thank you."
"If you're uncomfortable with sleeping in front of other people, I can give you your own space. I can put a hammock in your room in the temple."
Pearl stood there silently for a few moments. Then she turned around. "Okay, fine. I'll try it." She went to assist Greg until Lapis suddenly stopped her
"And Pearl, if you ever need a friend I'm here. I know you have Garnet and Amethyst but sometimes you need other people in your life."
Pearl blushed a little. "Th-thank you."

It was later that night and Pearl was finally done helping Greg. She walked back into the house. It was dark inside
"Steven?" She found him sound asleep in his bed. She then sat down on the couch. She leaned back and longingly stared up at the ceiling, wondering what to do and what might happen
