I had decided to sleep off the events of today to clear my head and maybe forget? My eyelids were getting heavier but just as darkness was washing over me the door to my room busted open. Revealing the one and only Kim Hongjoong.
"Y/n are you ok I came as soon as I heard!" Worry present in every word. I couldn't help but smile at his cuteness and everything else about his being. "I'm fine Joongie, but how did you find out where I was."
"Your doctor, ummmm doctor Lee Donghyuck called me but strangely from your number." Really he called from my phone what doctor does that he really can't be that dense can he?
"Oh yeah ok." I didn't tell him I couldn't tell him he had nothing to worry about so what was the point. Right?
The real doctor finally cleared me to go home. On the way I told Hongjoong to stop at a Korean bbq place so I could buy food for everyone. To make up for my absence.
The door barley opened before I was bombarded with questions and 7 hungry boys. Of course they asked me what happened but I lied and said I was just dehydrated. Everyone gets dehydrated so it was believable.
Everyone had finished dinner and I decided to clean up the kitchen alone and think about everything that went down the last two days. My brain became scrambled as I tried to come up with solutions on how to avoid him, and anyone finding out about him.
I finished cleaning and went to my room to shower and do my nightly routine. It still wasn't late so I texted Eunna to let her know that I was ok, and just to check on her.
Of course being the great friend she is she wanted to FaceTime me to make sure I wasn't lying to her. She really is the best friend anyone could ask for.
"Y/n!!! My baby are you ok? I was so worried about you after you saw Haechan, you just blacked out." She emphasized his name like venom on her tongue and I couldn't blame her.
"I'm fine unnie it was just shock, I'm sure you understand." She nodded her head and let out a dragged sigh.
Flashback
Today was me and Haechan's one year anniversary so mom gave us both the day off. Though we know better than to call it that, we may not be training but we know that we still have to be on call just in case.
Things were going amazing I got to spend the whole day with the love of my life I couldn't ask for anything better. I had the perfect life despite being in a mafia I had a loving mom and boyfriend.
Haechan took me to my favorite restaurant to celebrate. Although I couldn't help but notice he was being guarded and skid-dish the entire time.
I of course was an ACE so I had good observation skills. Whenever he was distracted I looked around the restaurant and noticed one of the waiters had his eyes on us the entire time and that made me skeptic.
I asked Haechan about it but he just avoided everything. Dinner was finally over and it was horrible I never once had his full attention and it bothered me. So I asked him about the waiter again.
He finally began to tell me. "You know how I'm not from here right?" I nodded my head and signaled for him to continue. He took a deep breath but soon carried on the story.
"Well when I lived in Gangnam I was also in a gang but in order to leave you have to be killed that was the only way out. I didn't have a choice y/n I needed out they were horrible people and I couldn't stand being there anymore." He took a short pause.
"So...... I left without telling anyone and they've been looking for me for years now. I've managed to avoid confrontation for some time now, but that waiter is one of the members so I can't help but think that they've found me."
I was so immersed in the story that I didn't hear footsteps behind us. And that's when it happened the beginning of my horrible life to come.
We continued to walk together while he kept on with the story, then I felt a hard whack on the back of my head. I reached back to touch where I was hit and brought my hand back to my sight only to see it coated in a crimson liquid.
My vision became blurry and all I could hear was struggling and muffled yelling, then everything fell silent.
~end of flashback~
"Y/n sweetie are you ok?" I shook myself back to reality only to be greeted by a concerned looking Eunna. I didn't even notice tears began to pool in my eyes.
She immediately knew what was going on Eunna never knew the full story but she knew for the most part what happened. She's always been concerned for me she's been there for me through everything. My mom's death, my first love leaving, the darkest period of my entire life.
We ended the call after she made sure she cheered me up and told me she'd check on my later. I was so tired and stressed I just needed sleep.
Just before I was fully emerged into dreamland I was interrupted by my phone buzzing. I quickly sat up to look at the notification I had just received.
9:30 pm
Unknown:
Hey sunshine miss me?
Me:
How did you get my number?
Haechan:
Private info. See ya around sunshine.
From the sudden message my head was spinning I needed a break. Though it seemed that was out of the question for me, so I went to my in suite to splash some water on my face.
I was in there for some time contemplating and just thinking about how my life came to this. Once I had calmed down I made it back into my room only to see Hongjoong holding my phone. He seemed hurt.
"Who is Haechan and why is he calling you sunshine?" He tone was rough and firm I had never seen him like this before. Sure we had argued before but this was a new type of angry.
"Can I explain?"
"Try me."
It seemed like he had enough already and I didn't quite understand why. "His real name is Lee Donghyuck, yes the 'doctor' who by the way isn't a real doctor. He's my ex who I haven't seen since I was 16. He means nothing to me." I tried my hardest to convince him.
"By the way he's messaging you doesn't seem like it. I've been cheated on before y/n and I refuse to go through it again."
That was the last straw for me I lost it. "I am no cheating on you and bold of you to assume I'm that type of person. The fact that you don't even believe me says enough about how much you trust me. I refuse to be treated like this. And I don't even understand why you think I'm cheating in the first place." I was vexed and so done with it.
"Y/n I know what cheating looks like and this is it. So please save the excuse and just get out. I don't want you here anymore."
I looked at him in search of any regret and maybe a hint to show he was joking, but nothing. I nodded my head and wen towards my closet and grabbed a suitcase and started to pack. I didn't bring much with me when I first moved in so it made the process faster.
He sat there the entire time rereading the three tiny messages I had exchanged with Haechan. His expression blank and unreadable. But I was so angered I could care less.
I decided I wasn't going to show weakness and cry so I held my head high yanked my phone from his hands and left. I made my way through the living area avoiding everyone's concerned looks and slammed the door on my way out.
Once I got outside and walked to the gate of the house I broke down. And I had no one to call. I didn't want to bother Eunna and my adoptive father was out of the country on business. So I was alone. But then someone popped into my head and I quickly dialed his number.
"Hello."
"Can you come get me I need you please."
