After the Michael incident, Kara had realized her feelings for a certain Luthor began to sort of flourish. Which was weird, right? Kara knew she had to pan out a plan to hide her small crush on Lena, so she devised a plan to fake a crush and a fake relationship with somebody else. Her name was Kate.

Kara was sitting at the lunch table with her other best friend, Winn & his sister Emily. Kara was zoned out in deep thoughts.
"And then I told him. 'You ain't got nothing on my man jeans' and he was all 'um excuse you Schott, you need to shut up'. Can you believe him?" Winn asked Kara .
Kara was zoned out when she felt a bread roll hit her face.
"Hey!" She argued, "that was just rude and so un called for"
"Hey. Sorry. Look, I know you're upset about Michael but you'll find someone new. Some- one better" Winn said with a smile. Emily, who had been on her phone but also listening in on their conversation looked up to see Kara's face turn a slight shade of pink at the mention of Kara finding someone new.
"Kara?" Emily said as an eyebrow raised, "is there someone new already?"
"Whatt? No.." she replied, she looked over at the door and saw Lena, Sara and Ava heading their way. "Okay yes I do, but the girls are coming so not a word Schotts." She glared.
"Hey Kar" Lena said happily as they sat down, "feeling better?" She asked.
"Yup! Happy as a daisey." Kara replied. Lena zoned in on Kara's face.
"Why is your face red?" Lena asked.
'Shit' Kara thought to herself.
"No reason." Kara lied. Sara peeked her head around, followed by Ava.
"Crinkle" the trio said
"Agh the crinkle" Kara whined.
"Come on Kar. You can tell us anything. We are your bestest friends after all" Lena teased. Kara shook her head.
"It's nothing Lena. I promise" She replied.
Lena turned her attention to Winn. Who let out a yelp the moment Kara's best friend looks at him. Mainly because she scares him. While Kara and Lena met in 7th and 8th grade, Winn & Emily knew the Danvers since 5th, and while they're all friends, Lena still scared him
"Kara has a crush on someone new" Winn said as Kara made hand movements trying to beg him not to tell her secret.
"What?!" The three girls said. Kara groaned and put her head down. She knew she had to face the problem. So she looked up.
"look, it's just a tiny little crush. okay? It's not a big deal. I definetly don't know if it's legit so please, do not make a big deal out of it" she told her friends. Lena raised her eyebrow up. She was the main best friend, as she'd call herself that. She knew Kara's secrets, dreams and all the stories in the world.
"go on" Lena insisted.
"It's Kate..." Kara admitted. Winn choked on his sandwhich.
"Kate? I'm sorry, Kate Kane ?As in football capt Bruce Wayne 's cousin?" He asked her. Kara glared at him as the color of her cheeks began to darken.
"Winn. Not helping" she said annoyed. "Yes, it's our Kate. Okay she's-" Winn cut her off.
"Coming over here " he whispered. Kate and Iris walked over to their lunch table.
"Hey guys" Kate said with a smile as she arrived.
"Kate! Hi, hey. What's up? What brings you here?" Kara asked nervously as she pushed her glasses to her face. Winn, Emily, Lena, Ava and Sara snickered. Kara glared at them.
"Um, Iris & I always sit here with you guys. Remember?" Kate asked with a smile as they sat down.
Kara gaped her mouth and tried to think up the words to say. She had to make her crush on her friend look realistic. She always did find Kate flatterling and cute though, perhaps apart of her did not realize this crush was real.
"Right, you're our friend and you guys sit here with us everyday." Kara said. Iris and Kate exchanged confused glances but ignored the signs of Kara's awkwardness. Lena leaned in and whispered in Kara's ears.
"You act like Felicity around Oliver" Lena said in a soft tone with her classic Luthor smirk.
"So. Kate. How was gym?" Sara asked, to make the conversation chain less awkward.
"It was good. It's a little awkward with Liv there, but you know, it's fine" Kate replied.
"Well, I'm sure you'll find someone to be happy with again someday" Winn said, Kara shot him a glare and he smiled to himself.
They all chatted and ate their food, the bell soon rang and it was time for classes again.
Kara and Lena had math class with Oliver and Barry.
Barry has had a secret crush on Kara for a long time, he always tried to get the crush on her through to her head but it never worked, so he found comfort for information from his best friend Oliver.
"Ollie" He said quietly as they worked on their math packets, "I think I like Kara" he said as he blushed a little bit.
"I know you do Bare, though I'm not the one you need to get through to & neither is Kara. If you want to get the girl, you need to get good through the girl's friends." He told Barry in a quiet voice. He was honestly joking but the best way in his opinion to get a girl to see you as a great guy is to impress the people who mean the world to her. Which can be her siblings, cousins, parents, and at their age, especially their friends.
"Her friends?" Barry asked confused. Oliver nodded.
"Yeah. You know. The friends. Felicity, Lena, Sara and Ava. The Kara Danvers protection circle" Ollie said, "don't tell them I call them that though. We all know Kara is more than capeable of protecting herself."
"Right. After Michael, who by the way I will end up beating the hell out of. Those four would not let anyone date Kara. Even if I've known them since freshman year" Barry said as he realized Kara's friends are maybe just a little overprotective.
"Go over to Lena & smooth talk with her but do not lead her on. Otherwise you'll just ruin any chance with Kara" Oliver told him. Barry's face blushed but he rapidly nodded.
"Kara" Lena whispered. "I know how to get you and Kate together" She smirked as she saw Kara's face turn red as she faced her. If there was one thing in this world that Lena Luthor found 100% adorable, it was seeing Kara get all giggly and blushy about her crushes.
"You know, you're kind've cute when you're all giddy" Lena said as she sent Kara a wink.
"Lena, I love you but it's just a tiny crush. Also it's not like Kate is into girls like me. With my love life track record, it'll be another busted broken heart." Kara replied.
"I wouldn't be so sure." Lena replied as she took out her phone.
"Lena, what are you doing? Mr. Slaten isn't gonna be happy about this." Kara whispered. Lena smiled.
"Relax. I got him in the bag." Lena replied as she opened up instagram and went onto Kate's page. She scrolled down to year 2015. A photo of Kate kissing a girl on the cheek. A girl who had the same style as Kara. Not that it even mattered when it came to what makes a true relationship.
'The love of my life. Two years with you is always good." The caption read.
Kate was openly lesbian to everyone, and that was including social media , Kara was just doubting her chances.
"She likes 'girls like you' Kar" Lena winked as she put her phone back in her pocket.
The door opened.
" 'scuse me, is this Mr. Slaten's class?" Said a voice. Kara's heart raced. It was Kate f'ckin Kane. Lena noticed Kara's reaction and turned her head, to only see Kate Kane standing by the doorway.
"Oh my God, this is better than I expected" Lena said. Kara rolled her eyes.
"You're impossible" She replied.
"I guess my Luthor genes shine through most of the time" Lena replied laughing quietly.
"Yes, this is my classroom. Are you Katherine Kane?" Mr. Slaten asked.
"Yes sir, my friend's call me Kate though" Kate replied.
"Of course, Kate. feel free to sit at the empty chair over by Miss. Luthor and Miss. Danver's table" He told her. Kate walked over to Lena & Kara's table and sat down at the blank seat across from them.
"Hey guys. Guess we see each other after lunch now, huh?" Kate asked with a smile as she took out her mathbook. Kara was at a loss for words and she was confused on why the hell she was becoming redder by the second. Lena let out a laugh as she noticed her best friend becoming flusterd.
"It's great to see you here to Kate" Lena replied with a smile.
"Yup!" Was what Kara was able to speak out.
"Hey, so I was thinking." Kate began. "My mom said I could invite two friends over to my house tonight for a sleepover. I was maybe thinking of inviting you two?" She asked.
Lena looked at Kara and Kara looked at Lena. Then an idea popped into Lena's head and she smirked widely. Kara in fact knew that face all too well. Lena's classic ' I'ma get you a date' type look. Kara's eyes grew wide as she tried to hide her shaking her head.
"I think I can make it. If not and Mrs. Danvers says Kara can go. I guess it'll just be a two girl sleepover" Lena told Kate. Kara closed her eyes and internally screamed no. She opened one eye to see Lena mouth
'You love me'
"Um yeah, of course! I'd be fine if it were just Kara and I" Kate replied. She looked over at Kara who just smiled.
"Will that be okay with you, Kara?" Kate asked the shy, quiet and awkward blonde.
"Um yes, of-ofcourse" Kara replied, chewing the inside of her left cheek as she avoided eye contact and felt her self blushing.
"Great. I'll text my mom and give you two the updates." Kate replied. The class ended and it was the last class of the day. (This story starts with the beginning of their fifth hour)
The girls stood up, collected their items and headed outside the classroom where they talked outside of Kara's locker.
"I'll see you two soon." Kate told them, she gave Kara a look and bit her lip as she walked off. Lena took note of Kate's lip bite and the particular look she gave Kara. She felt her jaw dropped.
"Oh My God Kara Danvers. She likes you." Lena told her best friend. Kara looked at her with a look of shock and confusion.
"Wha.. What? You're crazy" Kara replied with a small smile.
"Oh please, she was practically ready to jump your bone-" Kara cut her off.
"Whoa. Whoa. Slow down there dude." Kara replied, she was suddenly flustered and red in the face. "Now that is some insane thinking you got there Lena"
"Rightttt... " Lena replied with sarcasm. "Well how about we just ask Ava and Sara?" Lena told her.
"I- fine" Kara replied. Lena smiled and the two of them walked over to Sara's locker.
"Hey Little Luthor, Hey Little Danvers." Sara said with a smile, her girlfriend Ava walked over and they kissed.
"Do you really need to call us that? We know we are younger than our brother and sister" Kara told Sara.
"Yeah.. Little Lance" Lena replied with a smirk.
"Oh you got me there Lena" Sara replied as she collected her items. "So, what can I do ya for?" She asked. Lena nuged Kara but Kara shook her head.
"Kate Kane" Lena began, she did an eyebrow wiggle & smirked, "Invited Kar and I to her house this weekend for a sleepover, and then after class, She stared at Kara with a certain look" Lena explained.
Ava and Sara exchanged looks & then looked back at Lena and Kara.
"What kind of look?" Ava asked.
"The kind of look a person gives another before they jump their bones or you know. Just make out heavily with them" Lena replied, Kara's mouth dropped.
"Lena!" She said loudly, her face red, "What the hell?" She asked. She couldn't help but laugh when she heard Ava, Sara and Lena laughing their asses off.
"Aw I'm sorry darling. We just love teasing you" Lena told her. Kara smiled but rolled her eyes.
"I better head home. I hate all three of you with a passion, right now" she said with an eye roll.
"You love us!" They all shouted as she walked away from the group, she turned her head and faced them.
"You know I do!" She replied. She ran out and hopped into Alex's car. Alex's friends Sam, Laurel, Kelly & Maggie were there too. Laurel aka Sara's sister.
"Hey Little Danvers. How was school?" Sam asked.
"Great" Kara replied. " I am proud to say that I broke up with Michael" she said.
"Finally!" Alex said, she began to drive and then smirked a little as she turned her head to Kara. "So the big word on the street is. Kate Kane wants to jump your bones or just make out with you."
"Oh My God!" Kara exclaimed as she threw her hands in the air with frustration, but she still couldn't help but smile.
