Jason kissed Kami goodbye, and climbed down the vine ladder. He smiled at the thought of Kami loving him all over again, and that Brandon was finally out of their relationship. But another thought came across his mind. That phone call from Alex's sister. Asking him to come down the hospital immediately? He wondered why they called him if it was about Alex's mom. Because the last thing that he remembered her saying was that her mom was diagnosed with cancer, from the text he read from Alex's phone this morning.
Another thought popped into his head, 'what if she's..nah. I'm over thinkin it.'
~at the hospital~
He entered through the glass sliding door and went to the front desk. He looked at the lady's name before saying anything. "Hi um, Felicia. I'm looking for Alex Swayer."
Felicia: "she's on the 6th floor, room number J167."
He thanked her, and headed up the elevator. He received a text from Kami asking if everything was ok. Seeing that text made him smile.
Jason: yes babe. Don't worry about me. I'm fine. 😉😘
Kami: ok 😘 just checkin.
"Bing!"
He headed to room J167 with a concerned look on his face as he saw Alex's Mom and Sister, outside of the room crying.
Jason: "what's wrong? What happened?"
Charlotte: "My sister got into a car accident. And she's in a comma." She said in between sobs.
He looked through the window door, and saw her all bandaged up. Bruises and cuts on her face, and a broken arm and a broken leg. She was pretty much in bad shape.
Jason: "how long has she been here?"
Charlotte: "since this morning."
Jason remembered that he just broke up with her. He pretty much knew that she was distraught by the break up. A nurse walked up to Charlotte's mom, and pointed to Jason. The nurse walked towards him with a clipboard in her hand.
Jason: "How is she?"
Nurse: "not so good. Broken arm, broken leg, head trauma, and possibility of a miscarriage."
Jason chocked, "I'm sorry, what did you say?"
Nurse:"I said she's not doing well-"
Jason: "no no, the last thing you said."
Nurse: "oh there's a possible chance of her having a miscarriage."
Jason: "she's pregnant?!?"
Alex's mom overheard, and came running towards them. "She's what?"
Nurse: "she's pregnant. But due to the car accident, she might have a miscarriage."
Jason: "how long has she been pregnant?"
Nurse:"about a month or so."
Alex's mom: "Excuse us for a sec."
She pulled Jason's arm and led him to a corner.
Alex's mom: "you got her pregnant?!?"
She said in a low yelling hushed tone.
Jason: "I'm pretty sure that we never had sex. That's not my baby."
Alex's mom:" well you've been her boyfriend for two years now! I'm pretty sure that's your baby."
Jason:"I'm positively sure that, that is not my baby. And I'm not her boyfriend no more."
Alex's mom: "oh no. Don't you dare leave Alex right after you found out about her pregnancy!"
Jason: "Mrs. Sawyer. That's not my baby. I broke up with her this morning."
Alex's mom: "OH! So this is your fault! This whole car accident was because of you!"
Jason looked at her confused, "how is it my fault? She was the one driving."
Alex's mom: "Yeah! But if you would've never broken up with her in the first place, we wouldn't be in this situation now would we?"
Jason: "no."
Alex's mom: "So it's settled, this is all your fault and that baby is yours."
Jason: "mrs. Sawy-"
Alex's mom: "No! That's your baby. Your child! You made it, you help take care of your child."
She left with a stern look on her face and walked over to Charlotte.
Jason went outside into the lobby for a breather and called Reece.
Reece:"Aye man, wassup?"
Jason: "Dude! Alex is-"
Reece:"oh man! I known I heard it all over the news!"
Jason: "You found out about her pregnancy over the news?"
Reece: "woah! She's pregnant? Dude no! I was talkin about her car accident. But she's pregnant?"
Jason: "Yeah! About a month ago."
Reece: "tsk. No shock there."
Jason: "what do you mean?"
Reece: "remember when we went to the club, and you kept drinking mugs of beer? And you were debating if you should date Kami or Alex?"
Jason: "oh dang... I didn't.."
Reece laughed, "oh. But you did."
Jason: "man! I was so drunk that night!"
Reece: "oh yeah you were. I tried to stop ya from gettin drunk, but that didn't work."
Jason: "Great! So that baby is mine. But the baby might not even survive."
Reece: "Yeah that accident might have killed the baby. I don't know."
Jason: "I guess we'll find out soon."
Reece:" yeah take care bro."
Jason: "thanks."
Reece:"oh hey! Is it true that you and Alex broke up?"
Jason: "yeah!"
Reece: "and now you're with hottie Kami?"
Jason:"hahah yeah man."
Reece: "I would've done the same,
Kami got more of a natur-el look. Haha."
Jason: "yeah. She's the one."
Reece: "man I hope so! But I'm happy for ya bro!"
Jason: "haha thanks man."
Reece:" Aye, bring Kami over sometime, I wanna meet this sexy chick of yours."
Jason: "haha ight."
