Kimiko's POV:
As Pein continued to ruffle my hair, Orochimaru coughed in annoyance. Pein shot a glare at him and stood up.
"We might as well take her and forget you" Pein smirked to himself.
Orochimaru hissed in annoyance.
"Why is that?" He growled, clearly agitated.
Pein grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him. Not too roughly though, which was nice. I looked at them both in confusion.
"She seems to have more potential then you," Pein sighed "Plus we could train her at this age and she could be more powerful then you would ever be" Orochimaru grimaced. I looked up at Pein. "He's... What's he doing?", I thought.
"But, because we may need you in this group, I'll allow you to stay" Pein grumbled.
Orochimaru bowed, but I could feel his chakra give off that excited, yet, fearful, feeling. I looked up at Pein and mentally shivered. He gives off a weird vibe, and his chakra levels are insane! Just who are these people? I will eventually find out... Soon after, Pein started to mumble something to Konan. I tried to listen, but I couldn't understand. Orochimaru cleared his throat, making them all look at him. Pein sighed.
"Itachi," Pein barked "You will look after Kimiko"
The one called Itachi walked up to me. As I looked up to him, his eyes were glowing red. He was the one with red eyes. I gulped and attempted to smile at him. He kept the same bored expression on his pale face. Well, at least I tried. Itachi held his hand out, letting me hold onto it. He seemed to relax... And smile? To himself at least.
"Why does Itachi have to stay with Kimiko?" Orochimaru growled at Pein.
I turned around to him, still holding Itachi's hand. Why is he acting so... Strange?
"Is there a problem, Orochimaru?" Itachi said, before I could say anything.
I looked at him in surprise. Orochimaru seemed frozen in place..
"N-No..." He stuttered and looked away.
"Well then, I'll be on my way then" Itachi said.
He was really calm and collected. Woah.. Itachi looked at me and motioned that we should leave. I nodded, allowing him to lead me away from the group of weirdos that I might consider my new family. We walked into a small cave area that was hidden from view. Like intruders would even find this place. Not like their is a giant rock blocking the entrance or anything, am I right? As we continued through the hallway, I noticed Itachi was rather quiet. Too quiet. Should I say something? Or stay put? I was feeling rather nervous going somewhere with a man I just met with red eyes and a cool attitude. Was he secretly a vampire? Do those even exist? As I was thinking all these weird questions, I hadn't noticed that we stopped.
"Kimiko?" Itachi's voice snapped me from my thoughts.
I looked up at him, but he just stared forward. I looked where he was looking. In front of us was a huge living room type thing with cupboards in a row on my left, a massive television on a secure stand in front of a comfy looking couch with a very round table placed in between the two things and a rug that was black and red, but dang, the rug looked soft to the touch. Looked, doesn't mean it is. Past that, seemed to be the kitchen through a doorway type thing. Before I could venture in there, Itachi tugged on my hand slightly, pulling me up the stairs. Up the first flight and through the small hallway was where a dimly lit office door was placed. At least, I think it's an office... Next to it was another door that was more metal and rusty. I don't like them one bit. Continuing up the stairs, I see more rooms... Except these are bedrooms. I signed in relief as I saw the rooms. They were comforting to see. As we walked down a bit more, we stopped and entered one, most likely his room. I gulped as we entered.. in there were PLUSHIE TOYS AND BRIGHT COLOURS AND EVEN BUNNIES AND DANGO AND AND AND!!!!!! *popping noise* Was that my imagination? Awwwwwww *some time later... (Not really)* wwwwwwwwwe. As reality was jogged in my head again, I followed after Itachi, still clinging to his hand. The size of his room was quiet nice. Not too big and not too small. Just right. The first thing I noticed, besides the size of the room, was that it wasn't very dark, like I thought it would be. It was lit well, pictures were hung around the room of a young boy and what seemed to be, Itachi himself. Itachi had let my hand go to get something from the cupboard at the foot of his bed. I took this time to look around. His bed was rather big and comfy looking. The cupboard he was in looked like it could store hundreds of papas experimental jars. A small bedside table was next to the bed, with another photo on it, with a few draws. And, next to the cupboard was yet ANOTHER cupboard, but it looking to be filled with something else rather then clothes or food. Weapons maybe? Or a ROCKET LAUNCHER TO DESTROY ENEMY BASES!!!!!! PEW PEW BOOOOM!!!!!!! *yet another popping noise* Well... That happened... As Itachi pulled, what seemed to be a mattress type thing, he placed it on the floor next to his own bed and sighed in relief.
"This," He said, doing that thing with his hands that those people on adds do to present something "Is where you sleep"
I had to hold in a giggle, but ended up almost choking.
"I get to stay with you?" I say, a bit of excitement in my voice from the earlier giggling-choke.
He nodded as he went to get sheets. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all. I moved around and sat on his bed to wait for him. I liked Itachi. He's actually really nice. I shouldn't have judged his appearance at first.
Itachi's POV:
I smiled to myself as I was rummaging through my cupboards. Maybe this is a good thing. Ah, found them. As I turned around, I almost fell over from what I saw. Kimiko was curled in a ball, fast asleep on my bed. I closed my cupboards and walked around to dump the sheets on the mattress and look at her. She looked so peaceful. As I picked her up and opened my sheets, I placed her in them and put the blankets on her. She was adorable. How could that idiot, Orochimaru have made something so cute. It doesn't make sense. As I started to make her bed, a knock on my door was heard. I got up, so I wouldn't wake Kimiko, and opened the door. On the otherside, was Pein. I grimaced.
"Yes, leader-sama?" I ask.
"It's time to get Deidara from the Hidden Stone Village. He's causing more trouble AND he would be a good addition to the Akatsuki" He says in his bored-less tone.
"Why me, exactly? I've got Kimiko" I say.
I don't really want to go if Kimiko is going to be on her own.
"You'll be gonna for a while, so Konan will look after her, alright. The sooner you leave the quicker you get back, aye?" He smiles a little, showing that he's, somewhat, amused by this.
I "tched" and told him that I'd leave soon. He also told me some people were coming. They'd just slow me down. Great. I walked back into the room and instantly sweat-dropped at what I saw. Kimiko was sprawled across the bed, a small snot bubble coming out if her nose as she snored lightly. I had to hold in a laugh as I made her bed and got ready to go. Before leaving, I looked over Kimiko and, gently, gave her a kiss on her forehead.
"I'll be back soon, Kimiko" I mumbled softly and fled the room, wanting to get this over and done with.
Pein was waiting for me, as was Kisame, my partner, and Sasori. Apparently Sasori was to become Deidara's partner. I heard he was too full of himself and very self-centred. Typical.
