Ruby walked nervously over to the red car opened up the door and sat down doors locking automatically.
"Hey it's Oscar right? How's it been? You look good."
Spooky started chuckling and replied
"Yeah it's spooky. Buy you can call me Oscar. And it's been ok. You?"
Side Looking over to ruby who was looking straight ahead as little droplets of rain gracefully fell onto the window.
"Wow that's the most you've ever talked to me." Ruby was now looking directly at spooky admiring his tattoos. His body is more buffed and his tats has multiplied since the last he saw him.
Dodging the question. No one brave enough to do that to him.
"Cesar missed you and I felt bad saying what I said before you left and I never got to say I was sorry, so I'm sorry. I was having a bad day and you were there so i took it out on you. Thinking about it you didn't look so good either were you ok?"
Currently the traffic has picked up possibly because of the rain which is forcing both people in the car to look at each other and not pretend to be distracted by everything outside.
"Don't worry about it. I forgotten about it. Anyway how's Cesar and the guys?"
Again dodging the question.
Pushing the felling of tension down spooky looked at ruby who was pretending to be busy on his phone and said "they'll tell you all about that."
At that response he put he phone back into his picked and got excited thinking about all the shit he got up to. Did they get up to the same? Could that be there relatable-ness or whatever you call it. What if they changed so much that there not friends anymore?
Pushing that out of mind went back to being excited.
"Huh? Did they do any crazy shít? Oh my god! Did they get caught?!" At this point ruby was full on laughing thinking about all the things he did when he was in Florida with him and the guys.
Meanwhile spooky was just admiring how beautiful ruby looked when laughing. The sound he made trying to catch his breath reminding him of so many things he know he shouldn't be thinking about but he couldn't stop himself. He didn't realize how long he was staring because suddenly...
"You ok? I've been calling you?" Worry etched on to his voice.
"Yeah just tired." Spooky lied.
"Sorry."
"For what? You didn't do anything."
"This must be inconvenient for you. You haven't seen me in years and now all of a sudden I'm back and staying with you. You could be sleeping now instead of having to drive me back to YOUR house."
Ruby was trying so hard to hold back the tears but they were starting to flow down his cheeks unable to hold them in any more he started sobbing mumbling I'm sorry's before Spooky pulled him into a hug and whispered into his ear
"hermosa don't cry you have nothing to be sorry over. I was happy when Cesar asked me if you could stay with us. Just confused on why you're not staying with your mom."
Ruby stopped cry and looked into his eyes to see they were a beautiful hazelnut color that shone in the sunlight.
"It stopped raining."
"Ruby..." after some hesitation which by the way spooky was not known for he asked what was on his mind since Cesar asked or more like demanded that Ruby stay. Fearless for his family and friends.
"Why aren't you staying with you're mom?"
"I can't...I hate her."
"YOU HAVE A MOM! SHE WANTS TO GET TO KNOW YOU. YOU'RE UNGRATEFUL IF MY MOM WAS LIKE YOURS I'D BE DYING TO GET TO KNOW HER."
"DON'T SHOUT AT ME. You know nothing, nothing at all. You don't understand.T-the things s-she d-di-d."
Ruby started physically shaking, tears running down his face on to his lap, hands running through his hair possibly trying to calm himself.
Spooky didn't understand what was happening. He thought Ruby's mom was a good mom but by the was he's acting obviously not. All he wanted growing up was to have a mom like Ruby's but no he didn't have that. HE had to give up his dreams to look after Cesar. Not that he was complaining that was family do.
He was just supposed to be picking him up bringing him home and sleep but with fùcking traffic and bad weather things have gotten deep and he don't even know how it happened.
He lifted his chin up to look at him and and wiped his tears.
"You can tell me anything."
"Not yet please. I'm not ready." Sniffing he pulled his subconsciously pulled his hoodie over his palm spooky noticed this and he was gonna check later.
"Why are you wearing a hoodie isn't it really hot in Florida? It is here."
Ruby went in panic mode. He didn't want Spooky to see his scars.
"I'm a cold person." Will he accept that? Ruby nervously looked down at his hands picking the loose string that seemed to be the most interesting and complex thing he ever saw at that moment. He really didn't want to look into spooky's eyes.
"Hmm" was all was said.
Funny how you can figure out so much about people when you're in a closed place for a while.
"Ohh look we can move now." Smiling Spooky's way.
"Yeah. So Cesar is in with Monse. So you'll be in with me."
"WHAT?! Monse and Cesar? Called it! And that's cool i can just sleep on the floor."
"We'll sort it out tonight."
"Ok"

"Sorry that's my phone lemme answer it. Hey Jahseh what's up? ......Hmmm really? Wait Nicki and Tay! Nickolas and Taymor that's some Alabama shit......Aren't they like step brothers....I swear that mom divorced again....what Aunt say they besties....oh I gotta go talk soon. If he was to look over he'd seen such a big smile showing off Ruby's pearly whites that I swear could blind someone.
"No problem."
"Want a back massage? Heard there very beneficial. We've been driving for a hour and sat in traffic for about the same time."
Spooky didn't answer.
"If you're not gonna answer I'm just gonna go ahead and do it."
Still no answer.
"Ok than."
Ruby positioned himself so he could easily massage his neck.
"Now soft or hard?"
Spooky smirked
"Whatever."
The only people who ever massaged spooky was his bitch Selena but he never claimed her. No she was nasty fùcking everything not like Ruby.
"How's it feel? I took beauty and this was part of it."
That surprised spooky. He looks very beautiful obviously he had to take some sort of beauty course but he asked anyway.
"You took beauty?"
"Yeah it was to piss someone off but then I started to actually enjoy it. So yeah could tell you all the names of the bones in your body to which is the best shampoo to use."
*ring*
"Answer that for my baby."
Did he seriously say baby? Ruby hasn't noticed yet?
"Hello. Uh huh. Yeah. We were stuck in traffic than it started raining so construction made it hard to drive we had to just stop for a while. Hold on..spooky Jamal wants eggs..yeah ok..bacon...oh right...basically a whole breakfast."
"No." Simple.
"Why not! I wanna cook for Ruby."
"I'll take Ruby for breakfast tomorrow when it's actually morning now it's...what time is baby?"
Baby again? Now ruby has noticed if his face is anything to go by. Red as a tomato.
"Uhhhh..5:40 if you want it to the minute 5:43."
"No give me the phone! No Monse go away! Ugh give it to me NOW! Bro would you bring back pizza?"
"Yeah ok see you soon."
