Jump-ropes and brick walls are evil, remember this my readers

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nathan gave me a hug then left the room, leaving me by myself. Once the door was closed all the way, I sunk down to the ground crying. I don't know who I'm going to choose. Do I choose my bi-polar, psycotic mate, or my generous, kind-hearted best friend. I do know this, I am in a major need of a run. Standing up, I slowly opened the door and poked my head out into the hall. When I saw that the hallway was clear, I snuck downstairs as quietly as I could. Slowly, I went out the door to see that it was now night time, so I can blend into shadows. I walked down the stairs and into the ginormous front yard. Standing a few feet away from the stairs, I started to shift. When I was done shifting, I shook my body to get used to the feel of being a wolf and to get my shredded clothes off. Looking around, I saw just how big the yard was, it has to be at least 30 acres of land, that's more than the pack owned. The yard even had a dense forest surrounding it, giving the yard a ominous look. I started out at a slow walk to get used to walking on four legs not two, then slowly sped up until I was in a full out run. Running around the yard felt so good. I actually had room to run without fear of getting shot by some farmer, or getting attacked by a rouge. I had freedom to do whatever I wanted to while running.

I heard a branch snap to my left, and stopped to sniff the air. It was a deer somewhere in the woods. I fought the urge to actually hunt it down since I wouldn't be able to actually eat it. It's not a matter of my wolf disliking it, I just can't bring myself to eat raw meat. Shaking my head, I loped towards the edge of the woods. Once clear of the trees, I went around the house, just looking around me. Looking up, I saw a waning moon, and sat down just to look at it. The moon here has to be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The moon when I was alive was never this bright or alluring. Suddenly, I was hit with a wave of sadness remembering all the times I would sit on the roof of the pack house and just stare at the moon. Sighing, I walked back up to the front door.

Since I wasn't paying attention, but looking at my paws, I rammed into the door with a thud. That's when I remembered I don't have hands to open the door with, and I'm to afraid of who I will run into on the way to my room to shift and walk in. Suddenly, I got a brilliant idea that will see how tolorating Death will be of my wolf if I choose him. Sitting on my haunches, I started to scratch the door with my claws and whine loudly. When that didn't work, I kept scratching while doing a barking whine. I started to growl when it didn't work, so I stopped scratching and threw my head back and let out a nice loud and long howl. I kept howling until, suddenly, I was bathed in light. I stopped mid-howl, and looked to see who opened the door. When I saw Death standing there glaring, I let out a coughing laugh and sauntered into the house.

"Awww come on! Look at what you did to my door!" he yelled at me. I ignored him except for a flick of my tail, and proceeded to walk up the stairs to my room. Once I was at my room, I sighed again and looked around before shifting back. Right when I was about to open my door to walk in, I heard a loud gasp from behind me. Hitting my head against the door, I turned around with my hands on my hips to see Death standing there shocked. Laughing, I turned around and proceeded to walk into my room. Once in there, I went into the bathroom and took a quick shower to scrub off the sweat that had been streaming off my body since I shifted. When I got out, I put on some pajamas and walked into the bedroom to find Death passed out in the doorway of my room.

Sighing, I grabbed him under the arms and dragged him out of the room and followed his scent to where it was strongest in the house. Setting him down on the ground, I opened the door to see his bedroom. Letting out a releaved breathe, I dragged Death into his room, and a little effort, pulled him onto the bed. After he was under the covers, I walked out of his room. Looking around, I decided to go see if Amy was still up. When I got to her room, I banged on the door to get their attention. A few seconds later the door flew open to reveal a mad looking James. I beamed at him before pushing past him to go into the room. I walked up to the bed and plopped down face first before rolling over and looking at Amy.

"Runt, what's wrong?" she asked impatiently. Alrighty, apparently I interuppted something.

"Nathan kissed me then said he loves me. Then he told me to choose between him and Death, then gave me two months to decide. After that, I went for a run, which by the way oh my gosh this yard is huge, and when I got back in Death saw me naked after shifting in front of my door and passed out. So, I dragged him back to his room, then came over here," I told her quickly.

"Holy cheesecake runt. So who are you going to choose?"

"That's the problem, I don't know. On one hand, Death is bi-polar, has anger management issues, and is an asshole, but he is my mate and he can have his sweet moments. On the other, Nathan has been my friend since we were little, he knows everything about me and is the nicest guy I know, but I don't know if I love him as just a brother or as something else."

"Just give think it through, you do have two months to decide."

"You're right, well I'm going to go to bed. Goodnight."

        "M'kay, goodnight runt."

Once I was clear of the door, it slammed behind me and before I could fully walk off, I heard growls coming from their room and rolled my eyes. I sighed happily after walking into my room and crawling under the silky covers. Right when I was about to fall into a deep sleep, my door opened causing the light from the hall to fall on my face. Groaning, I rolled onto my stomach and waited for the person to say what they wanted. After a few seconds of hesitation, they closed the door, and I heard them walking with the quietness of a werewolf to the other side of the bed. Sniffing the air, I realized it was Nathan and groaned again. What more torcher does this guy want to put me through? Before I could ask what he wanted, I heard him sniffle a little bit. Realizing exactly what was wrong, I sat up and crawled across the bed to him. If it was anybody else, I would say they were faking it to get my attention, but not Nathan.

In our entire lives, I've only seen him cry once, and that was at his parents funeral. Like us, they had died in a rouge fight when we were twelve. He didn't cry when he found out they died, nor when everybody was looking. He only let one tear fall and that was when he thought nobody was watching him. So I knew he must be really depressed to be crying enough to be sniffling and seek comfort from someone else. Once I was right by him, I pulled him into a hug and gently petted his hair. When he calmed down enough, I scooted into the middle of the bed, pulling him with me and laid down. Still slightly in a daze, he laid his head down on my chest and wrapped his arm around my waist. Any other time, our roles would be reversed since we've fallen asleep in each others bed's many times, but tonight he needed to be comforted so I did just that. I softly sang a lullaby my mom would sing to me when I couldn't sleep, and stroked his cheek until he fell asleep. When his breathing evened out signaling he was asleep, I smiled against his hair then fell asleep myself.

The next morning, I woke up to someone snoring in my ear. Groaning, I rolled over and started to pat the space by my head. When I found the persons mouth I grabbed their chin and closed it, sighing when the snoring stopped. Snuggling closer to them, started to fall back asleep until my door opened with a bang. Nathan jumped up quickly snarling at the sudden noise that woke him up, while I grabbed my pillow and pulled it over my head. Apparently the person isn't too important because Nathan laid back down, on my head. My yelling was muffled by the pillow, so I put my hands and feet against his body and pushed him away causing him to land on the floor with a yelp. Laughing, I looked to see who was in the room with us and for the first time noticed how dark my room looked. Which is strange because the light is on, so that could only mean one thing, Death was in here and he's mad. Sighing, I sat up and glared at him wondering what has his boxers in a twist this early in the morning.  I heard Nathan laugh from behind me and Death glared at me, confused I tilted my head to the side.

"My boxers are in a twist, becuase noone had seen him this morning, so after checking the house myself, I came here to see if you knew where he went to find said person laying in bed with you and you snuggling up to him," he told me repeatedly pointing to Nathan.

"Dude it's not like this is the first time we've slept in the same bed. In fact, the beds at the pack house for people who weren't mated, were twin beds. When ever we would sleep in the same bed, she would actually be laying ontop of me not next to me, so this is nothing compared to how it usually is," Nathan told him walking around the bed to sit next to me. For the first time I noticed that he was wearing nothing but his boxers. Death noticed this too, and started to shake in fury.

"That still doesn't explain why you're here and not in you're own room!"

"He came in my room last night needing a friend, and once he had calmed down we both fell asleep. Nothing else happened, so calm your balls dude," I told him bored.

        "Did you just-?"

"Yes I did, get over it. Oh ya, anybody have to use the little werewolves room? No? Good, try not to kill each other while I'm gone."

With that I stepped into the bathroom and locked the door. After taking a shower and brushing my teeth, I walked out of my room in my towel to find them practically at each others throats. Growling, I tightend my towel around me, then stormed forward inbetween the two males. I put a hand on both of their chests and pushed them as far as my arms could go, unfortuantly their arms are longer. Growing impatient, I grabbed one of each's arm and bit down as hard as I could. Nathan yelped and jumped back, while Death just looked at me like I was crazy.

"Now both of you stop it now, or I will choose neither of you and y'all will just have to deal with it," I growled out between my teeth.

"Wait what do you mean choose? I'm your mate, that should mean a lot more then some mutt telling you he loves you," Death said in shock causing me to laugh harshly.

"Most would think so, but so far Nathan has been a lot nicer to me then you have."

"That's not fair! He's known you his whole like, I've known you for about three days!"

"You're missing the point. Most people, once they find out who their mate is, they do everything in their power to make said mate happy. So far, all you've done was bruise my stomach, make me break my arm, choke me, yell at me, and laugh in my face about being my mate. Yes Nathan refused his mate, but his mate was human, I'm not. I'm seriously thinking about ending this two-months early and just choosing Nathan. He flat out said he loves me and is willing to be my mate, voluntarily. So if you want to keep me around, I suggest you try a lot harder to get on my good side," I practically yelled at Death.

When I was done ranting, I turned my back on him and faced Nathan, who was sitting on the bed with a pillow on his lap looking anywhere but me blushing. After a minute of confusion, I realized why he had the pillow when I looked down to see that sometime during my rant, my towel had fallen down and was pooled around my ankles. Blushing slightly, I turned around to walk to the closet when I ran into Death and fell backwards. Before I could hit the ground, I felt two pairs of hands wrap around my waist and hold me up. Looking up, I saw them both looking away blushing. Laughing, I untangled myself from their hands and walked into the closet.

Digging through the clothes, I found a blood red tank top that I wore with a pair of short black shorts and a pair of red and black striped socks. After I threw my hair up into a messy bun, I walked out of the closet, ignored the two guys staring at me, and went down to the kitchen. I went straight to the pantry that has the Kool-Aid in it and decided to go with cherry flavored to go with my color choice of the day. Once I had my drink made, I put it in the fridge and sat on the counter slowly taking sips of it. I was so lost in thought, that I didn't even realise when Mr. Grumpy Chef came in and sat beside me with a huff.

Right when I was about to take another sip of my drink, I felt someone take it from my hands. Growling, I looked up to see Mr. Grumpy holding my glass out to me. I almost had it in my hand when he pulled it back out of reach. Glaring, I went to reach for it but before I could grab it, he drank the rest of it in one gulp. My mouth dropped open and I could do nothing but stare as he got the nerve to get another glass and down that one too. Silently, I moved up next to him and tapped him on the shoulder. When he looked at me, I punched him in the jaw and sent him flying into a pantry door. Storming out the doors that led outside, I took off my clothes and carefully set them down to make sure they didn't get ruined while I was running.

I had just shifted when I heard the door open behind me. Turning my head I saw Nathan holding his stomach with tears in his eyes. I bared my teeth at him before taking off into the yard not caring if he was following. Noone touches my Kool-Aid, noone, not even my parents got away with it. Suddenly my paw caught on a rock and I went tumbling forward landing on my back. I heard a coughing laugh outside my head and a laugh in my head. Huffing, I rolled over onto my belly and set my chin down on my paws. Letting out a big yawn, I shook my head when Nathan cuffed me over the ears with his huge paw. His wolf was the third tallest of our pack right behind the Alpha and Beta and a  golden brown color that had all the girls in the pack jealous. I always got a little depressed whenever the two of us would go for a run. His wolf would pass as the poster child of werewolves while mine is unnaturally short with dull boring black fur.

There's a legend in the pack that the color of a wolf's fur shows what it's soul is like, and whether it would be a good fighter or not. In the legend a wolf's height shows it's dominance over the others in the pack. So that's why Nathan is the werewolf poster child. His fur shows his caring soul but is dark enough to show that he knows his way around a fight, while his height tells you that he is close to being in charge of the pack but would still have time to pay attention to a family and not a whole pack. Me on the other hand, most of the others in the pack looked down on me in distaste. My fur suggests a dark and evil soul but warns everyone that I'm an excillent fighter. My height tells everybody that I'm the furthest from being dominant over anyone except the little kids, not even the new shifters.

Sighing, I curled up in a ball and tucked my nose under my tail while a stray tear slid threw my fur. I felt two bodies press up against me and instantly knew it was my best friends trying to cheer me up since they knew the direction my thoughts went when I'm curled up like this. We stayed like this for the rest of the day, but Amy eventually went inside to tell James why she was gone. A few minutes later, Nathan nudged my shoulder with his nose and whined trying to get me to come inside. Instead I just curled up in a tighter little ball whimpering lowly. Sighing, Nathan went to go tell everyone that I wouldn't be coming inside tonight. When I get in moods like these, I usually stay in my wolf for days and either stay in the same spot or wander around the woods.

Once he was inside, I stood up and shot into the woods before he could come back outside. When I was deep enough in the woods that I didn't have to worry about him seing me through the trees, I looked around for a cave or somewher to hide. After looking at a few spots, I found one between two tree roots that would be comfortable enough to sleep in for the night. I curled up into a tight ball again and after a few minutes, I fell fast asleep.
