Alfie's return the next morning was late, causing me to get anxious as to wether or not he would be coming back that day. He did, of coarse. He wouldn't let me down.
"Morning little one." he said as he strolled through my hospital room door, I felt flattered by his newly brewed nickname for me.
"Morning Alf." I replied, "How are you?"
"Good thanks, still a little frustrated about last night." he honestly told me.
"Sorry." I reply with sympathy.
"No no. It felt good to let it all out, even if it was out to someone I had only just met." he replied, making a delicate smile appear across my lips.
"Then do you want to continue?" I asked him courageously, before my question being put on hold as a far too familiar face walked in.
"Who's this?" Dan, horribly asks me, "Are you cheating on me?" he jokes.
"It's not possible for me to cheat on you If we were never a couple in the first place." I tell him confidently.
"What's your name?" he glares over to Alfie.
"Alfred John Deyes." he replies.
"Well 'Alfred,' what are you doing with my women?" Dan taunts.
"She's not anyone's property, and frankly she seems like she doesn't want to be anywhere near you." Alfie replies before looking over to me and winking, indicating he wouldn't let Dan hurt me.
"Shut that stubborn hole in your face and listen here, mine and Zoe's relationship has nothing to do with you." Dan tells Alfie.
"It does when you abuse her for no fucking reason!" He then screamed.
"How dare you..." Dan threatens.
"Sorry but, I just went there. No regrets." Alfie said smartly.
Dan's face began tripping him, before he clenches a fist an throws it at Alfie's nose. Alfie falls back and almost loses balance on the chair behind him, as the blood falling from his nose dribbles onto the floor.
"Never go there again you bastard." Dan spits at Alfie, who's laying on he floor hiding his face.
"Sorry Dan but your the only bastard around here, Alfie's saved me from your ignorant self." I stick up for Alfie.
"You butt out bitch." Dan orders me, but I refuse, "No. I will not. Get out before I'm forced to call the nurse."
"Whatever." Dan replies, before suddenly turning round and punching me in the gut as he then stormed out the room back to his own.
"I'm sorry I couldn't stop him Zoe." Alfie tells me as I begin crying in pain.
"Me too, Alf. Me too." I tell him, as we both lay there in silence.
