"You?" Sanskaar uttered looking at me all astonished as I was.

"Mm.. hi."

I managed to say that inspite of being a little embarrassed by his reaction.

"You both knew each other?" I turned to look at the women surprised, oops that's sanskaar's mom then, Sujata.

"Yeah mom she... she's my batchmate and... my friend." He explained to his mother and looked at me still surprised.

"Just a second." His mother excused from us and went inside the kitchen.

Sanskaar drew his hands near his chest and looked at me with his left eyebrow shot up looking at me as if I did something wrong.

"Why are you here?"

Again! Cold hearted man ugh..

"Didn't your mother told minutes ago that why I was here?!"

Show me attitude then I'll show you the same.

"Why do need to be here when you're father earns more and gets money?"

Expected question.

"Exactly! That's my father's money and not mine. Though I'm not out of money yet I wanted to do it for my self satisfaction. Moreover I can get my own pocket money without any expectations and why do you care? After all you are getting an employee for work."

'Short and sweet! Well done swara.'

I was able to see his facial expressions turning into a surprised one but in just a fraction of seconds it turned cold as he caught me staring at him.

"Yet I called you at 7:45 here and you didn't tell me."

"Who knew that you would be the owner?"

"So kids, what are guys talking about?" His mother came near us.

"I called her here for the study at 7:45 today mom that's what I was asking. Nothing else. Just a minute mom I'll be back." Sanskaar walked out of the dorm with his mobile in his hand.

"You must be special."

His mother's words made me look at her. Special? What does she mean?

"Sunny never brings his friends to cafe or to say he hardly has friends. Glad that you are with him." She gave me a little pat on my head with a warm smile but her eyes reflected the sadness as well.

"That... That's fine aunty." I forced a smile.

I still couldn't believe, what does this really mean by? Sanskaar doesn't have friends? Like seriously? That's  unbelievable, I thought he would have a huge number of friends not everyone are real ofcourse but at least some fake friends for his wealth.

Wealth? Wait a second..... Why does his mother and him has to run a cafe when he was rich enough to own a Mercedes Benz CLA?

"Day dreaming isn't allowed when you are at the work and that too on the first day, doesn't it bring out a bad impression to the  owner?" His words again was in sarcastic tone.

I rolled my eyes while he handovered me a apron with the cafe's symbol which was beautifully embroidered on the white clean cloth. I wore the apron around me and kept  my book bag which I brought from home.

Soon sujata aunty took me inside the kitchen and I was flat with the modern classic kitchen which had the contrast of red and black with golden designs painting on the wall. It was a huge kitchen with every utensils needed for the cafe. Aunty explained every little thing about the cooking items and what has to be made. The menu card mostly had french cuisine, I hardly knew french and these were all french words.

"Queche... Lorraine?" I was busy trying to pronounce a dish name which was in French from the menu card.

"It's Quiche Lorraine sweetie in simple words it's a pie." She giggled while I stuck my tongue out.

"How come there are so french cuisines aunty?" I asked.

"Sunny lived in Paris for some time and even I lived there before. He was very quick in learning french cuisines like I did swara, so we ended up taking running this cafe which was already started by my mom many years back."

Wow! The whole family had witnessed france. Not bad as I thought Mr. Sanskaar Maheshwari has some good brains hidden other than academics and his sarcastic words.

Must admit sujata aunty was real fun. She treated me like a long lost friend. I really doubt, is sanskaar really Sujata aunty's son? They both are so different but they do have a little similarities in appearance. Hard to accept but I had to.

Later sanskaar instructed about the cash counter's work as well in case of any emergency needs I might have to do that work as well. Soon we had a huge number of customers and aunty didn't let me to do any kitchen work so I ended up being a waitress. It was much fun to do too.

~

It was 7:15 and it was the closing time of the cafe. Unique right? I know! Helping out for some cleaning works I sat down the couch for a little rest as all the works were completed. I closed my eyes resting my head on the couch and my mind brought out some flashes of him which I saw a while ago.

Sanskaar.... Well he was definitely not a cold hearted person as I thought before. Okay, he does that only to me. To others he was polite and to his mother he was warm and sweet. He though shows *tries* to show himself to be a cold person he wasn't actually. He... looking at his eyes I felt as if he had some darkest secrets hidden inside those attractive orbs. Something was missing even though he looks perfect outside.

"It's 7:45. Coming to read?" Hearing his voice I opened my eyes and stood up.

I saw him taking his books to the corner where there was 2 tables. I took my bag lazily and sat in front of him and took the books from my bag.

"Which chapter do you want me to help?" He asked.

"Mm... I knew everything little by little only as I study everything before exams." I replied flipping the pages of my big book.

"Fine." I heard him say.

He did really explain to me very well but I did answer most of all his questions he asked me. His expression grew into surprised and then confusing.

"You aren't dumb yet why do you take just 95% only. You are much capable to take more, What's wrong?"

There, he caught me!

"I really hate this subject and I wantedly take the marks though I'm much capable and but taking 95% everytime... Well I don't know how exactly I get that. Not my fault." I giggled.

I know I sound stupid but still I really hate the main subject a hell lot. Sanskaar told nothing and flipped the next page. Did he even hear my explanation?

There came my savior, Sujata aunty with two streaming mugs of hot coco decked out with whipped cream and sprinkles of chocolate chips only in one and that one was for me.

Taking a sip of hot coco I felt I was in heaven. Gosh! It was so amazing, delicious, super fantastic and many more words I would say and maybe if I can I should try inviting new words to explain how much good that was.

"You like it swara?" Aunty asked me.

Who won't like this one?!

"Like? I really love this one aunty. That was so good, who won't like it?." I squealed while she smiled.

Her smile was so beautiful. She was like a winter landscape in the mountains with a widespread of pure white snow and the smile was like an little ray of sunshine on her.

"So how's your study time going?" She asked.

"Good mom. What's the devil doing at home?"

Devil? Whom was he referring to?

"Sunny! She's your sister." His mother warned him.

"A little devil in human disguise for me." He stretched his hands up not really caring about his mother's warnings.

"You will never change." Aunty told in with an unbelievable nod and left.

Later we both continued reading and discussing our chapters. It was really good reading with him and not that bad as I thought. He was very sincere when it came to studies and I could see that very well.

"Finally done." He announced closing the book while I left out a relief sign.

Finally we are done!

I quickly packed my bag and that was when aunty came again to us. While I stood up for leaving.

"It's already 9:15. Sunny drop swara home and come home I'm leaving." Aunty told picking up her handbag.

"Aunty there's no need I would go by myself." I really didn't want to make them to that for me.

"Mom you stay here I'll drop her and come." My jaws automatically hit the ground.

Here I was protesting that I don't need a company and this idiot boy....

"I'll go sunny, Don't worry." She looked at her son lovingly.

"Fine. Take care." He said and turned towards me.

Should I say something? Mm.. I don't know. I shifted my bag a little on my shoulder and gripping the strap.

"Let's go." He announced and started walking.

Giving a bid to his mother for today I walked out to see him waiting for me with his hands tucked his demins pocket. Cold breeze blew gently making the nearby trees move a little giving enough air for us.

We walked together. I still couldn't believe the fact that how I saw him through my flashes, then how I passed out in his arms yesterday and the very next I was now with him walking in night. Everything felt like a miracle to me. It happened so quickly that I couldn't realized how fast the time was running.

I looked at him for a second... Okay for a minute. His pale face shone under the moonlight yet no expressions was seen on his handsome face. His silky hairs danced a little on his forehead due to the breeze. All of a sudden he looked at me.

Crap!

I immediately looked away. That was too awkward for me. I was staring at him and .... I was staring at him?

'Like a kid getting his favorite candy!'

My own mind mocked me while I couldn't do anything but definitely I should shut it off for sometime.

Would he think wrong of me?

I hope he doesn't!

"Fridays I won't be there in cafe." I looked at him in confusion.

"Why?" I asked.

"Personal works." That reply made me curious.

What does he meant by 'personal works?'. Do he go every Friday's to visit his girlfriend and have some fun? Or could be something else? Does he really have a girl friend? Okay I could feel my stomach going off all of sudden. Let's skip that.

"Oh..." I signed in disappointment.

I wish I could exactly know what that 'personal work' was to avoid my stupid imaginative mind's words.

There we are. We were now infront of our flats.

"Thanks for the company." I gave a smile while he just nodded.

"Take care." He said in a calm tone and turned away even before I could say a bye.

He was so strange and full of mysteries. He was like a missing puzzle to me, a hard riddle which I have to solve on my own and it's my duty to get all answers and save him.

I watched him till his figure disappeared out from my sight.

A day well spent with Sanskaar Maheshwari!

Hope you all like the chapter do comment and hit the ⭐.

Love,
Diya ❤
