His grandfather was laying on the couch, and Nick said, "Poppa, we got a visitor."
His poppa was so concentrated on the TV, he said, "Who? Oh and did you get my bread?" without turning around.
"A girl." Nick answered and laughed.
Poppa turned around quickly. He saw a timid, brown hair girl with brown eyes. She was kinda tall, and she had pink lip gloss on with a watch on her wrist. "Hello, young girl." Poppa said, then whispered to Nick, "You can't bring random girls to your house! Is this some kind of joke?" He wasn't good at whispering.
"Poppa, she's a friend. Be nice, I'm going to make you that sandwich. Be right back." Nick answered
"Sit, sit!" Poppa told me. I sat on the most comfortable looking couch I could find. "Thanks," I said. He didn't seem to hear, so I just kept there. "So you like my boy, Nick?" Poppa said.
Lynn's face got red. Was she supposed to answer? Nick had heard the question and walked in. "Poppa. We're just friends. That's not something you ask. Shame."
"I can't ask a simple question? It's not like she had to answer me!" Poppa answered.
"Um, Nick's grandpa, I just moved in - I live two houses away from you. I can't like someone that fast!" Lynn said.
"You can call me Frank, if you want. That's my real name."
"Okay, Frank. We're just friends.. I don't think we'll ever date."
"Yea. Ever." Nick answered.
Ever? What was that supposed to mean? Was there something wrong with Lynn? She wasn't pretty? Was there something unattractive? She know felt awkward. "I have to go, my parents are probably worried sick." Lynn said.
She said bye to everyone and left. "Ever? Great word to use, Nick." Lynn whispered.
