Ethan stood behind Tammie, chair raised, breathing heavily. He swiftly replaced the chair and ran to Lisa, picking her up and running down the grand staircases and out the doors for air.
When they got outside, Lisa and Ethan breathed in huge gulps of fresh air. Ethan began to explain, seeing the questions plaguing Lisa's eyes.
"Tammie's dangerous. She's also smart. She came to me months back with this sick plan. She said if I told anyone, I'd be a dead man. When it comes to Tammie, I take that seriously. She said it was only supposed to scare you, you know, keep you away from me. But you never know with that girl. I couldn't tell you because if you weren't genuinely scared, she would know and we'd both be dead. The ambulance are on their way. So is her hospital. I'm going to make sure she's locked up for a very long time."
Ethan and Lisa stared at each other for a while, taking it all in. Then they turned behind them.
Montague Hall was engulfed in flames.
