Dianfa pov
I stood frozen for a moment, one word went through my mind like a mantra 'shit' He took a glance at me then smiled "Ah Mengrui is home, I need to speak to him"
I tensed up at him mentioning Mengrui before I stuttered out "n..no actually, he's at work"
he frowned at me "why do you have Xing and one of Mengrui's bags"
Before I could answer Mother Kong pulled her husband through the door "oh I'm sorry Xiao Dong, you said you were busy and my husband here is keeping you back, go on don't let us keep you, I wouldn't want you getting into trouble, be safe"
I take Xiao Xing back with a sweet smile and small bow I take my leave, exiting as fast as possible
as I made my way down the steps I froze at the words I just about heard as the door closed "seven days, tell Mengrui seven days" I turned towards the door and frowned before walking off home shaking my head, I gently put Xing and held his lead that mother Xing has attached while I was putting my shoes on
Shuanghui's POV
my father walked out after telling me the consequences if I didn't behave, I rested my elbows on the table and my head in my hands, I guess I could wait till my desert arrived before I left
after about 5 minutes a young boy walked over setting an Apple Pie in front of me before he took the seat opposite where my father sat, I took a glance up at him, at his deep brown eyes, he had a small smile on his face "Tough night" he said kindly, his voice was sweet, I looked back down at the pie it also had some ice cream on
"A bit, going to be long one week" I replied with a sigh,
he tapped his finger near the plate "enjoy, I'll get you a much-needed drink" he paused for a moment "Whiskey? with coke, it is a cafe I have to be subtle with alcohol" he let out a small chuckle before getting up and walked away
I lifted my head and watched him with a confused look before digging into my pie, he passed a class beside me before walking away again, I picked it up taking a sit before looking over at the counter with a smirk on my face "it is whiskey" I said quietly
after finishing the pie and drink I got up to go pay then headed home, I flopped down onto my bed and played some music letting out a deep sigh, I closed my eyes and just let my mind wander about the marriage and my bike
Mengrui's POV
I watched the man walk out, after the shouting and sat there the way he was he looked like he needed a drink, when he didn't decline I shrugged to myself and got it him, he looked as bad as I felt.
A few hours had passed and the cafe remained quiet, so I decided I was going home early, well home meaning I was going to go to Diana's and see my Xiao Xing
I got to Diana's house knocked on the door, and to no surprise, his sister answered and practically tackled me to the floor, she was about the same height as me most certainly taller when wearing heels, she had long dark brown wavy hair that hung loose past her shoulders and dark piercing brown eyes "hello to you to Shuying" I said with a groan
"Shuying get off him," Dianfa said with a huff pulling her up off me, I pushed myself up off the floor with a slight frown and a sigh
Dianfa looked at me with a sad expression on his face "what?" I said in a questioning tone
Dianfa pushed his sister inside "let's talk inside" he said and lead me indoors, I waved and slightly bowed to Diana's mother and to Fu and Chao who is Diana's younger siblings, they are twins and only 7 years old, I smile before following Dianfa upstairs
compared to my house is house was a small 4 bedroom 2 story apartment, he bedroom was less than half the size of my room and was often messy but I didn't mind, it was a small but cosy family home, and I liked it here, the only downside is his clingy sister
Dianfa jumped onto his bed after I picked Xing up who was happily licking my cheek "I got a message from your dad when I went to pick Xiao Xing up"
I looked at him cradling Xing in my arms "oh? what was that"
Suddenly I didn't want to know, the sympathetic look Dianfa was giving me made me want to hide away already "he said" he hesitated a small pause "7 days and you would know what he means" he said with a hint of sadness to his voice
I pet out a sigh, for the next 3 days I stayed at Dianfa, playing games and just keeping my mind off the situation with my father, and just allowing myself to get used to it, I had sent my mother a text or a short call every day just so she knew I was Ok, she tried questioning me a few times but I told her I'll let her know when the time comes down to it
hearing my mum happy always brought a smile to my face, but my smile slightly slumped when I knew I couldn't avoid this much longer and headed home, I also decided I wasn't going to work till I felt better and dropped the old man a text to let him know he wasn't going to be in
I walked into the house, putting Xing down, I headed for my dad's office just walking in, It looked as though he had been pacing, I swear the floor looked run down from his constant stepping back and forth, he had frozen once I came into the room
"you're back" he croaked out and I nodded in response
I let out a sigh "I'll do the stupid marriage just stop" I gestured from side to side "this, Mother will start panicking if you keep this up, why are you so on edge anyway, it's not like it's urgent, why is it happening so soon anyways"
my father let out a sigh and as he was about to speak we both froze with a small shiver down our spine hearing a sweet angelic voice "Mengrui, you're back" she said joyfully giving me a quick hug to which I returned with a gentle smile
"yes Mother, I'll always come back, can't stay away from you for too long now can I, plus I miss your delicious breakfasts," I said before planting a small kiss on her cheek
"you cheeky boy" she chuckled before heading out of the office
after she was gone I shot a glare at my father and held up 3 fingers "you owe me, don't make me regret going through with his" I growled out before replacing my frown with a calm smile as I headed towards the kitchen "Mother, what delicious food are you cooking for me" I said with a small chuckle
Shuanghui's POV
after the cafe I practically locked myself in my room, my mother was concerned about me avoiding my father, whenever he knocked or came in when I had forgotten to lock my door just to ask me about this stupid wedding I responded with the same thing
today was no different, the wedding was tomorrow and he walked into the room to ask me what I wanted to do after the wedding "don't bother me, I told you before and I'll tell you again, I'll get married for my bike, but I want nothing to do with the planning, I'll be there when you want me to be, dressed up and ready, Now get out" I let out a sigh as he gave me a time he was picking me up in his car tomorrow and walked out, I shut my door and locked it laying on the floor
My phone rang and I reached over for it since it was on the floor from me playing a game on it earlier, answering it without looking at the caller ID "brother" I groaned out
"ah, so you are still alive, I haven't seen you for a week Shuanghui, I was getting worried" A deep husky voice echoed through the phone
I let out a sigh "of cause I'm alive, my father took my bike away, I'll get it back tomorrow or the next day, I'll explain everything then, also when I get it back I'm staying with you for a few days, this old man is doing my head in"
"sure thing, try and sleep Shuanghui, you sound tired," he said before hanging up
I dropped my phone beside me onto the floor and closed my eyes in an attempt to sleep, which I must have because by the time I woke up there was a banging on my door and the light was shining brightly through the curtains that hung lazily over the large patio window that led to a small balcony, I groaned sitting up and grabbing my phone up before opening my door
There stood a shorter man with black hair and a dark hard glare in his brown eyes "What the hell Shuanghui, we are going to be late"
I stared at him with a blank expression "late for what" I croaked out before looking at my phone, my eyes widened and my mouth formed an O shape before I breathed out "oh"
My father turned and stormed down the stairs, I followed after but went to the kitchen, ignoring the irritated groan of my father, I walked up to the woman with long brownish hair and greenish-grey eyes kissing her on the cheek "I might stay at tangs tonight, I'll see you later ma" I croaked out still half asleep, I let out a yawn before heading back to the stairs to go back upstairs
"Shuanghui" my father raised his voice "where are you going?"
I looked over at him "yo wash up, I can't go like this" I smirked He glared at me and dragged me out the door
"you can wash up when we get there, my mother had a confused look on her face as I waved bye to her
My father pulled up to a 5-star hotel and I scratched the back of my neck letting out another yawn as we got out of the car
the old man looked worried as I followed him to the desk, the woman stared at me as I towered over my father, I gave her a wink as she passed my father his key and she soon started blushing, the old man shook his head and glared at me and I smirked back following him to the room,
it wasn't a big room, a single room actually, with a small bathroom to of which I went to straight away to use the crappy freeby throw away toothbrushes to brush my teeth, my father handed me my suit and I closed the door hanging it onto the back of the door before hopping into the warm shower
I don't think I took that long but my father was banging on the door telling me to hurry up with a loud grumble, I got out and dried myself, putting the suit on, I tried to tie the tie but failed and came out of the bathroom with it knotted,
the old man raised his eyebrows at me before frowning as his eyes fell on the scruffy, not a tie that's around my neck, he undid it and tied it properly and I let out a shrug before sitting on the floor "when are we doing this stupid wedding thing"
the old man glared at me "right now and get off the floor you will get the suit dirty" I rolled my eyes and stood up, my father was in his usual outfit which pretty much consisted of a black suit and white shirt and different colour ties which this time was a navy blue, his hair gelled back, I shook my head and straightened the suit out
I followed him out the door to this supposed area we are supposed to meet my future wife, the old man passed me a pair of sunglasses "put these on"
I frowned and looked at them before putting them on and taking them off again "I can't see out of them"
"that's the point, I don't trust you to not cause trouble before I signed the business deal"
I frowned more "did you get in trouble"
he let out a growl "nothing to do with you put the glasses on"
"It has everything to do with me since you're marrying me off clearly for this deal" I huffed out, I put the glasses on after sitting on one of the chairs in the area, waiting for the other person to arrive
